Misunderstanding

Ember woke up in her bed. While yawning in her sleepy state, Ember freshened up, changed, and ate her breakfast. When she returned, she noticed that her room was neat and clean. Her books were arranged, and even the snacks package on the floor had been thrown into the dustbin. "What a relief," Ember commented as she lay back on her bed, facing the ceiling. Then she noticed a sticky substance on her neck and realized that her necklace was missing. She stood in front of the mirror and confirmed that it wasn't there. Panic set in, and she began searching for it, making a mess in her room once again.

"Ugh!" Ember shouted and grabbed her phone to message Adrien, "Hey Adrien, I'm really sorry, but I think I lost the necklace you gifted me." She sent the message and left her room, heading to the library. Ember studied there until lunchtime. "Finally, my time is over," she sighed and started walking back home.

On her way back, Adrien called out to Ember. She turned back, and upon seeing Adrien, she greeted him with a simple "Hey, Adrien." Adrien rushed to her and stopped her in her tracks. "Let's talk," Adrien said.

"Okay," Ember agreed, and they walked together in silence to a park, sitting on the same bench they had before. "So, what is it?" Ember asked while tucking her hair behind her ear. Adrien began hesitatingly, "Actually, I'm here to meet you. Long time no see." His smile seemed forced, and Ember sensed something was off. "Yeah, long time no see," Ember replied with a chuckle, but Adrien kept looking at his feet.

"What happened?" Ember asked, concerned. She held Adrien's face in her hands and asked, "Hey, Mr. Scientist, did something happen?"

"Actually," Adrien began, holding Ember's hands, "I'm sorry." Confused, Ember questioned, "What? Why?"

"I know you're angry with me, and that's why you haven't been contacting me since that day when you…" Adrien was interrupted as Ember said, "Hey, wait. I'm angry with you, and I don't even know about it." Ember started laughing. "Hey, that's right. You didn't contact me. I cried that day," Adrien said, looking down.

Ember held Adrien's face again, asking, "You silly." She smiled with a spirit that lifted the mood. "Hey Ember, what are you doing here?" Aunt called out to her. Removing her hands, Ember said, "I'm here with my friend. We're talking about our future sitting together." Aunt expressed her approval, asking about Ember's studies and suggesting she take a break with friends.

Adrien was in a daze when Ember mentioned discussing their future together. His focus returned when Aunt asked, "Who is he?" Adrien quickly introduced himself, and Ember and Aunt bid each other farewell.
