In the world of Alhaiyore's Icar'a-Rai Empire, Audenzia La Whistria is born Duke Hugair Voitria and his secret mistress's illegitimate daughter. Growing up on the edge of the Icar'a-Rai countryside, Audenzia's mother teaches her magic and spells, a tradition that has run in her family for millennia. Once her mother is supposedly killed by a lifelong illness, Duke Voitria takes pity on Audenzia, and decides to let her live in the Duke Domain, with himself, the evil Duchess Voitria, and their betrothed, beautiful daughter Criala Voitria.
Throughout her life in the heart of the Empire, Audenzia experiences aggressive hate and discrimination; her white hair and dark skin is an easy giveaway to her Vivanti ancestry - a clan of eastern magic users in the world of Alhaiyore who have not been on good terms with the Icar'a-Rai Empire for centuries.
As she grows into her adolescence she meets the Emperor's son, Prince Siar, and eventually leads a regretful, unhappy marriage with him. Life soon turns on Audenzia when she wakes up in a cellar, her own husband looking down menacingly at her.

Her own pregnant, and previously widowed sister, Criala stands with him, smirking. The two had planned to kill poor Audenzia, the illegitimate child, along with Criala's husband, Marquess Zixilia, in order for their marriage to take place. Audenzia dies, betrayal and rage lingering in her damaged heart.
But before death can whisk her away, she is suddenly taken back in time to the week before her mother's death. Striving for revenge against those who wronged her, Audenzia vows to use her time travel and Vivanti power as an opportunity to change her life, and ruin the lives of those who ruined her.
