Zane's POV:

I have known Camilla all my life, we met at a huge tree in a middle of a forest. She snuck out from her home and I was just playing in the backyard. Camilla is from a rich family and I'm from a poor family. When her parents found out about how poor we were and how we were living, they saw us as a puppet, not humans. Since we were living in a abandoned broken building they decided to make a deal with my mother. The deal was that they would pay for a two room apartment for us, and I would have to marry Camilla in exchange. Me and my mother agreed, I was 7 at the time and I thought I loved her. But after the deal she changed, she became clingy and she became ANNOYING. She wasn't the soft, kind, and caring person anymore. She became a brat.

I walk around Camilla. She was giving me a headache, like she always does. I turn around as see Camilla uncomfortably close to max, max looked confused, scared, and shocked. I know first hand that Camilla can be a bitch with her words. She can and she will make you feel like nothing if she meets anyone lower than her or is she sees you as a threat. I walk back to where Camilla and max is and I grab Max's hand and start speed walking away from Camilla. When we cross the street I let go of Max's arm "Are you ok? I know she can be a bitch sometimes" I say. When he doesn't respond I just walk to his house I can hear him walking behind me, I'm not concerned but I am. What is he thinking?

Max's POV:

I don't understand why she would see me as a threat. I turn around to see Camilla but she wasn't there. She was a beauty far away but realizing it, that beauty is just a way to lure her pray in, and when she shows you her true self you are too late, you are already caught in her trap. She looks pretty on the outside but not at all on the inside. I am so into my thoughts that I didn't notice Zane stopped, and I bummed into his back. I stumbled back and I come back to reality. "We're here, I'm going to go now" and just like that he walks away. I was so out of it that I totally forgot to say thank you. I walked into my neighborhood and walked home. When I got home my mother greeted me. I went upstairs and layer on my bed. I kept think about what she said, it was eating me alive. What did she mean?

The next day I woke up and I was still in my clothes from yesterday. I looked at my clock at it said 3:51 Am. I tried to go back to sleep but I couldn't.

My alarm went off and I immediately turn it off. I get up and get dressed. I brush my teeth. I charge my phone. When I go down stairs my father looks at me and says "you look tired, did you get enough sleep?" I sit at the table "I couldn't sleep" I say. My mom puts a plate of eggs and bacon on the table in front of me. "Well I hope you get enough sleep tonight" my mother said. I finish my plate of food and grab my backpack. I walk to school.

AFTER SCHOOL 🥲

Zanes POV:

As I start walking home I hear someone call my name, but I ignore them since whoever it is will just get on my nerves. Everyone gets on my nerves. "Zane, I just wanted to say thank you for walking me home yesterday" he said, I don't even need to look at him to know who it is. It was the over energetic short idiot. I didn't know his name, and I wasn't going to ask. When he is around I know he is going to ask a bunch of questions. And he did "Soooo you told me your name but I don't know what your favorite hobbies are. What's your favorite color? do you watch anime? Do you hate me? Are you really getting married? HELLLOOOO!! Can you hear me?!?" He said. I wanted him to leave me alone, "One question" he said, I knew what he was talking about. "Why are you getting married to Camilla?" He said. Why does he want to know about her. Anyone but her. "It was a deal my mother and I made a long time ago" I said. I sounded angry. I was angry, I hated her, and she will ruin my life. And just like that he left me alone, that's what I wanted because right now I could probably beat up the next person I see.
