When I reincarnated as Dugu Yan

Reincarnating as Dugu Yan in Douluo Dalu isn't as easy like most people think despite having a sure fire way to access yin-yang eye of ice and fire even more so when I awakened my memories the day my father Dugu Xin died if there is any saving it is that I haven't attached any spirit ring yet so my martial soul development hasn't started

Fortunately my change in behavior isn't that strange considering what happened and my decision to plan my own soul ring configuration at least before level 70 can be seen as trauma even though my martial soul has poison attributes not to mention I'm poisoned so I don't want to risk complications that may happen although it is not explicitly mentioned soul rings affect the martial soul and help its development which is why it is common sense plant type soul master's shouldn't absorb beast type soul rings and vice versa

If this is not the case then why should blue lightning tyrant dragon sect absorb dragon type soul plus there is also the unrivaled dragon serpent who have a martial soul fusion consisting of snake staff and dragon staff which proves dragon and snakes are related 

Which gives me an idea to evolve my martial soul through soul rings which while feasible in theory would be hard not to mention requires a lot of knowledge to carefully configure my soul rings

Without a doubt the 7th ring is the best chance to transform my martial soul after all innate and and acquired are still different not mention poison and snake is an important part of the origin of my martial soul so compatibility is of the utmost importance not to mention the stability and accumulation

Which is needed to supplement my bloodline and achieve sublimination of my martial soul through optimization and development changing it is as hard as ascending to heaven given the name of the soul skill the seventh ring provides so its importance of selection is very significant

I want my descendants to inherit my martial soul after all without its defects as the second generation after all a soul master's cultivation on the surface is about cultivating soul power but its essence is developing the martial soul which is the origin although my grandfather successfully evolved his martial soul it isn't perfect enough

Sure it has stability as it can be passed down but like Ma Hongjun in the future it didn't solve the fundamental issues with the martial soul as seen with Ma Xiaotao so it can be concluded that developing attributes alone won't be enough but we must also consider bloodline.

Ideally I don't want to turn my poison into mixed poison which is problematic to solve as the fact it grows stronger with my cultivation is enough to be headache even when it is still pure venom so the current priority is strengthening my body along with my martial soul bloodline without making the poison in my body too complicated due to soul ring as the martial soul inherit traits from its source in addition to the soul skill 

So my first soul ring should ideally be a snake but not just any snake but also a non-venomous one not to mention it must have a strong bloodline related to dragons although my bloodline has enough connection to dragons but it isn't strong enough but just a trace so the first soul ring serves as a primer so dragon bloodline should have something to lock into to prepare for fusion which is part of the reason I selected the 7th ring early as the first 7 rings lays the foundation and structure of the martial soul and when it can be considered complete any further are just for improvement on the original basis and more about the means as well as solidifying development and not fully simulate the growth of poison attribute except the 7th ring where a martial soul can be considered complete

I am actually quite lucky to have a titled douluo backer and someone to help me hunt soul rings so I can be picky not to mention we are each others last relative I won't abandon poison but it won't be my only means after all I have a poison attribute beast spirit which is quite rare unlike weapon spirits my body is in direct contact of poison during martial soul possession so I first needed to make up for flaws as my poison is strong enough and grows with me although not as fast without the help of spirit rings so I don't need to deliberately improve it which may lead to serious complications

Cultivation is ultimately to become something extraordinary in this case as a soul master with one's own martial soul as the core and development as the mold

Although this world is usually called a fantasy floor tile it has it's own merit which that lowers the threshold to implement ideas from my previous life the martial soul and soul rings that I can use to my advantage

Soul rings are opportunities for the refinement and evolution of martial souls so it can't chosen casually just for powerful soul skills the principles of selecting suitable soul rings can be summarized in the words strengthening the foundation and cultivating the essence, and playing to one's strengths and avoiding one's weaknesses

There are many ways of cultivation in the myriad heavens and worlds but ultimately it is to cultivate essence, energy and spirit, but also to use these three treasures to harmonize the human body

In simple terms the key to success is the body, energy, and soul which are the three treasures with the martial soul as the link due to the nature of soul master cultivation.

Although the martial soul can allow the soul master to absorb the spiritual energy of the world outside like a spiritual root, before reaching a certain level, it still cannot allow the soul master to sustain his own consumption by eating wind and drinking dew.

As more than 99% of the cultivation systems are individuals seeking nutrients from the outside world, thereby strengthening themselves step by step.

Martial arts body building, immortal way of practicing qi, incense, fighting spirit, magic, witchcraft... whether the practitioner is human or demon, they cannot avoid the step of eating or supplement and support from the outside world.

Soul masters are not immortals, they are more like martial arts. The practice of the golden age must be practiced bit by bit to lay a good foundation, otherwise it will be more difficult to achieve anything.
