Chapter \5/ The Storm Dragon: Calamity Class Monster & First Stop

The red and pink clad sky darkened as the evening clouds overtook the last glimpse of sunlight. Rain began to sprinkle on the dry ground as the winds picked up, blowing leaves and debris across the field below. Wild Monsters and Beasts ran to the relative comfort of the tree line or cave as the first crashes of thunder rolled through the valley. Throughout the night, strikes of lightning sent rippling waves of thunder crashing and bouncing off the canyon walls, before finally cascading down to the gorging river below. The rain threatened to wash away the mountain, as newly formed streams of water trickled through the cracks in the rocks.

The lighting strikes, once barely touching the horizon, had moved earth and sky to reach the mountain. Above, below, and all around, the blinding strikes, relentlessly pursued by deafening thunder, sent shadows jumping off the walls of the forest and canyon alike.

A tree, no doubt tickled by the electricity in the air, could not contain its excitement and leapt from this earth, returning itself back to the air that gave it life. The explosion crackled in the air before finally fizzling out, unable to penetrate past the hills that surrounded it.

As quickly as it had come, the storm had passed. The lightning that once ripped apart the very molecules in the air, was now touching the other horizon, thunder purring behind it. 

The rain subsided, but the river kept raging, fed by the stragglers still making their way down the mountain passes. The gusting wind was pushed aside by a gentle breeze, taking with it the grey clouds that hid the heavens, revealing a great shadow flying through the skis, dipping out and In through the dark clouds.

' A Dragon?' Yuuki thought, laying on top the carriage, soaked to the bone, head to toe. However, he doesn't mind the wetness of his clothes, nor his golden wet hair, dropping past his eyes, dripping with water. All he cares about right now is the Dragon-like shadow, flying through the clouds.

" The Storm Dragon. Said to be able to bring storms wherever It goes. Wilder of lighting and thunder. A Calamity class Monster, able to erase cities in seconds If It so wanted to." The Captain Of the Adventurer group explained out loud for everyone to hear.

" Known to be none aggressive and aloof and self-centered, keeping to itself and remaining neutral. It spent most of Its time on In the skies and vast valleys." Yuuki added on, while thinking,' Wow, Aiwass sure did love reading.' It seems the former owner of the body was kind of a bookworm at night time when everyone is asleep.

" They can control storms and lightning at its own will, which can subsequently change the weather drastically. This causes many people to worship it as the God/Goddess of Thunder." The Captain once exampled with a smile on her face.

" When The Storm Dragon flaps its glittering wings, it releases electricity that can potentially cause thunderstorms. It produces massive crackling and snapping sounds when it flies; these are attributed to the lightning bolts it sheds when airborne. When stricken by lightning, it gains power. The Storm Dragon reportedly appears only during thunderstorms, and is said to live among thunderclouds. However, it is rarely seen. Until now that is." Yuuki said, seeing the great shadow disappear with the storm It brought.

" Oh~ It seems we have a little Scholar on our hand's guys!" The Captain said In delight, finding someone like her, so dedicated to researching.

" Hahaha! Yes, it seems we have on more Scholar with us!"

" Captain, you finally have someone to trade notes with!"

" Great, now we have two of them."

A couple of Adventurers said with a hearty laugh, while the Captain herself also started laughing with them.

" What an odd bunch," Yuuki commented, watching the Adventurers take blows at each other and laugh it off.

Only after a few more hours did Yuuki and the group of Adventurers make It to a village surrounded by nothing but trees and Mother Earth. The town Itself was just the everyday starter town you find yourself In, starting a new RPG. On the way to the town, Yuuki spotted a few low-level demon beasts and even fewer middle-level demon beasts.

' The perfect place for noobies to level up.' Yuuki said, reading the town sigh: [ Kurenai Shinrai Town ], which means: Crimson Trust Town.

Looking up, he discovered an ancient castle with, standing on a hill, overlooking the town.

" Oh~ I see you found the Dawnbloom Castle." The Captain chimed out, following Yuuki's eyes.

" Dawnbloom?"

" Aye, nothing much there, sadly, check meself. Nothing but a bunch of broken items, that has no worth." She added, drinking something from her drinking pouch.

" Who owns It?" Yuuki asked, with a glow In his eyes.

" The Adventurers Guild..." She explained riding the carriage Into the town after showing the guards something, who let them In hastily without blinking their eyes. Hell, they didn't even question Yuuki still sitting on the carriage with his feet dangling off of it, by the Captain.

" As of now, the Adventurers Guild is sealing for It 5,000 Gold Coins, after buying from the town for a few hundred gold coins a few years back." She explained once more, stopping In front of a rather nice Inn.

' Damn, this town got scammed hard.' Yuuki thought hearing her.

" Sir, Are you staying with us or by yourself?" The Captain, kind of hoping this Light Mage is staying with them.

Jumping off the carriage softly, Yuuki smiled," I'm going to see the sights~" With that said, he disappeared In nothing but a flash of golden lights

Shaking her head, the Captain mumbled to herself," What sights... All there is, an old Castle and low-level demon beasts, nothing someone such as yourself, would take a liking to."

" Yippee-ki-yay Motherfucker!" Yelling out like some old American Cowboy is Yuuki riding a black and red demonic beast, that looks like some horse from hell.

*Neigh!*

Making an odd sound, the horse started galloping throughout the forest at a rapid pace.

" Heh! And they say there's nothing to see here!"

Making a ball of golden light, Yuuki threw it at a demon bear, annihilating it from the earth.

" Art Is An Explosion!" Possessing a wild glow In his eyes, golden light spears appeared behind him, at the ready.

Hearing those explosions around the town with that childish happy laugher a couple of Adventurers smiled," Kids these days."

*BOOM!*

" Mommy, what is that sound?" A young boy asked, holding his mother's hand.

" That's a Magus." She said, simply, with awe and terror.

" What are they doing?"

" Helping."

Looking at the fireworks throughout the forest surrounding them, Amagi and Kaga's eyes sparkled In awe at the power of the young boy.

" I want to be a Magus." Kaga declared, then said with a hopeful smile on her face," And I want Yuuki-kun to be my Master."

Smiling softly Amagi smiled at the thought of Yuuki-kun teaching Kaga while she watches at the side.

" Yeah, that sounds nice," Amagi mumbled only allowing herself and Kaga to hear
