Jarron peered at the phone and his eyes widened. "What is she, Rapunzel?! I've never seen hair that long in my life!"

"It is quite long. I've never seen her wear it down," Cody said matter-of-factly.

"Ignoring the hair, she is cute though. Way to go, man! How far have you gotten with her?"

Not far at all according to outsider standards. They cuddled when watching TV and, after that cheek kiss, she had also kissed him on the lips twice but it was so fast it probably wouldn't count. He didn't need to mention that though.

He had heard enough discussion of such things between classmates that he knew how such things were referred to by now. He had been confused about the talk of 'bases' at first but after looking it up and hearing Alex's explanations about baseball it all clicked together.
