I am the villain

We were lying in bed, Amanda was cuddling me, I looked at the mask, if I was going to find out anything about it now would be the time, I got out of bed and started to walk towards the forest practising my spells in case I got into a fight on the way there, it started raining, wonderful. I continued walking onwards, the rain seeming to get heavier with each step, my body starting to ache but yet I persevered on to my destination, I need to know what that cloaked figure was trying to stop me from finding out, I kept trudging on through the thick mud and going through the trees until a lightning bolt struck,

"What are you doing?"

"Amanda? Why are you here? Shouldn't you be in bed?"

"I should be asking you those questions, where are you going, without me nonetheless?"

"Go back home Amanda, I don't want to get you involved in this so just go back home!"

I was raising my voice at Amanda, why? Why was I raising my voice at her? Why was I angry at her? was I angry at her, or was I angry at my self for just leaving without telling her?

"Just let me do this on my own, please!"

"Liv whatever it is just let me help you!"

"I don't need your help! I don't need anyone's help except my own so just go already!"

"Liv I swear to god I'm your girlfriend let me help you, I'm not going home because I love you!"

"if you won't go I'll just have to make you go."

"What do you mean Liv?"

I started to cast a spell towards her, it was meant to be a powerful wind spell that would send her back very far but instead blinded by my rage I used the wrong spell and summoned a spike of ice that was hurling towards Amanda.

"Amanda move out of the way!"

I tried to cancel it but it wouldn't work, was I about to kill my girlfriend? I watched as the icicle flew through the air knowing I was powerless to do anything and then the icicle hit.

"Amanda no!"

but it wasn't Amanda that the icicle hit,

"Oliver?"

it was obvious that he was about to die.

"You aren't a villain."

and with that, the life extinguished out of his eyes. I'm not a villain? I just killed you, how am I not the villain? I'm a murderer for god sake! why did I cast the spell in the first place? wait he isn't actually dead, is he? this is just all a big joke, right? I continued to look at his dead body. he's dead and I killed him, there's no going back now, I am the villain. I took one last look at Oliver and then one last look at Amanda, she's bound to hate me now that I've killed Oliver. I turned away and put on the mask, tears started running down as I ran away from where Amanda was standing over Oliver's corpse, she didn't even try to stop me. I continued running not able to look back until I eventually reached a village of people in cloaks, I walked around for a while unable to discern anyone's faces because of their cloaks until I stumbled across what happened to be the town hall.

"so you've finally realised your destiny?"

"I'm willing to do whatever you ask of me."

"Good, we will train you to become the most powerful witch on this planet and you will take over this world for us"

Amanda's POV:

I felt a slight rustle which woke me up and Liv was gone, I looked around and saw her outside, I got up and followed her, she was practising spells. I made sure to stay close enough behind her where I wouldn't lose her but also far enough away so that she wouldn't notice me, I needed to know what she was doing because it looked way too dangerous to not worry me, she's my girlfriend, after all, I continued following her making sure she never left my eyesight even through the boggy mud and the thick rain I continued to follow her, I'm not letting her do this on her own! and then all of a sudden lightning struck, if I was going to confront her it would be now or never,

"What are you doing?"

Liv turned around and looked at me,

"Amanda? Why are you here? Shouldn't you be in bed?"

I looked straight into her eyes,

"I should be asking you these questions, where are you going? without me nonetheless!"

She started to raise her voice, something she never does,

"Go back home, Amanda! I don't want to get you involved in this so just go back home." she had tears in her eyes but I don't think she knew. "Just let me do this on my own, please!"

determined I continued to try and get her to let me help her, "Liv whatever it is just let me help you!"

She looked at me her voice shaking,

"I don't need your help! I don't need anyone's help, except mine so just go!"

I'm not going to let her do this on her own no matter what,

"Liv I swear to god I'm your girlfriend let me help you, I'm not going home and that's because I love you and I don't want you to do this on your own!"

her expression turned cynical,

"if you won't go then I'll have to force you to go,"

she started to cast a spell and this is the first time I have ever truly feared someone, after she had cast the spell a giant icicle appeared and it started to hurl towards me, is this it? am I going to die to my own girlfriend? as I looked into her eyes I realised that she had cast the wrong spell, she had meant to cast a spell that would have knocked me away and not a spell that would have killed me, but that filled me with even more sadness as I knew that after I died Liv would be full of guilt and she would do something stupid that would ruin her life, the icicle was about to hit me, this is it, it's all over but then Oliver jumped in front of it, why Oliver? why would he sacrifice his life to save mine? he then muttered his final words.

"you aren't a villain," He was right, she isn't a villain, she didn't mean for any of this to happen, she just wanted to do something on her own but I pushed her to her breaking point, I am the villain. She looked at me for one last time but I couldn't muster up the courage to say anything to her and that led to the biggest regret of my life, the fact that I never stopped her, maybe if I had stopped her then maybe everything would have been a lot easier.
