Damien walked in silence alongside Scarlet whose eyes were fixed on the road where she walked. Even though it may seem as though he didn't care about her presence at the moment, he looked at her from the corner of his eyes every once in a while. He was at Morgan's before being summoned by her and he could have chosen not to respond, but since he is the one who told her he would be there at first call, he had to keep to his word. He knows she has no idea how she summoned him, but earlier, he sensed that she needed him.

He thought back on Morgan. He was at his own home near the sea, watching the sunset and how the tides collided with each other when he was suddenly summoned by Morgan. She looked all tense and he could tell just right there that she figured something out.

"The blood bag you select every year…" she said with her brows pulled together and eyes keenly watching him through her glasses.

She did figure it out, he thought.
