Unlimited Power 03: The Sinful Ruler

Where does the game end? Where does reality start? When one very anticipated VRMMORPG was about to be launched, and Jake was one of the first players to have a chance to access it, he had a weird dream of himself fighting massive beasts and then seeing a world being destroyed. Without knowing any better, Jake assumes that it was just a weird dream, but then he begins to have those weird dreams again and again until they become even more vivid, and much to his surprise, whenever the dream changes, he obtains a new power inside the game. It doesn't take long for Jake to realize that he isn't the only one who has those dreams, and soon enough, Jake realizes that the game and reality are a lot more connected than he thought. On his second run, Jake accepted the second mission of that map. He was supposed to kill as many Giant Bats as possible and while that was his goal from the very beginning, he couldn't help but think that perhaps he should have bought some information from the golden armor guy. That kind of player sure knew more than the others. Still, there was no point in thinking about that. His impulsiveness caused him problems several times in the past, but Jake considered it one of his good points. Still, his second run started the same way as the previous one… with a lot of unluckiness. After three hours, Jake didn't obtain a single new drop… fortunately, not everything was bad news.

Green Angel

This plant gives birth to a leaf every day that can restore your stamina by ten points. When planting, the leaves can become a green angel in five days.

"Hey, hand that over," Jake heard someone from behind when he found the herb.

Jake sighed. It seemed that he had started the day on a high note, but he will end on a low one. When he turned around, he saw three players armed with longswords in front of him.

Hector

Health: 39/39

Mana: 25/25

Stamina: 33/33

Julian

Health: 37/37

Mana: 21/21

Stamina: 35/35

Lex

Health: 41/41

Mana: 22/22

Stamina: 32/32

The three players were wearing basically the same equipment as Jake, chainmail, long swords, dark Cape… it seemed that they had been using that map for a while to farm those herbs. Weirdly enough, it seemed that they were triplets since they had the same blond hair and green eyes.

"What the fuck… his name is Judas," Hector said while laughing. "It seems someone wasn't loved when they were born."

Something snapped inside Jake when he heard that. At first, he had thought of trying to find a way out without losing his time fighting against other players, but even while he was on the disadvantageous side, those thoughts disappeared from his head… they would die.

Jake dropped the herb on the ground and then began to walk toward those three, it was obvious that he wanted to fight now, but those three still looked surprised at the glint in his eyes. Jake was looking at them as if they were trash… despite that, the triplets only smirked. Defeating hot blooded fools like that was just too easy.

Those three began to circle around Jake, while all of them had the same status, they couldn't underestimate Jake just because he was alone. The cost of a game over was that high… While they were working around to find the best moment to attack Jake, he suddenly dashed toward Hector. It seemed like a suicidal attack, as if he would be satisfied in getting at least one of them with him. Jake swung his sword and Hector prepared to block with his own, but in the last minute, Jake raised his left arm to use the shield, alongside Bash. The attack still was blocked, but Hector was knocked down on the grass.

The other dashed to attack Jake, but their swords hit the air when they got close enough and Jake lowered his stance. In the next moment, he slashed the leg of one with his sword and smashed the knee of another with his shield and by using Bash once again. Both of them felt a nasty feeling in their bodies, even though the pain was severely decreased, they fell with their butts on the ground. At that moment, Hector had got up, but before he could do anything, Jake dashed toward him like a beast and swung around his sword wildly and horizontally from side to side, forcing to assume an absolute defensive stance.

When he tripped on a pebble, Jake dashed toward him even faster than before. Hector tried to block the attack, but instead of a slash attack, Jake used a thrust and he made the sword enter his mouth. Hector opened his eyes widely in shock, even the nastiest PKs wouldn't do something like that, and once Hector fell, Jake made sure to put all his weight behind the sword to make him feel terrible agony.

His brothers tried to help Hector, but when they attacked Jake, he blocked their strikes by using Barrier. In the end, he didn't cancel all the damage, but Jake only received ten points of damage. They tried again, but the scene repeated itself two more times, until Hector's body became particles of light.

Congratulations! The class Squire, has leveled up.

Your health and strength increased by two points, your mana, stamina, endurance and speed increased by one points.

"Sorry for having kept you waiting," Jake said to the two remaining targets.

The two brothers flinched when they saw Jake's eyes, he had lost more than half of his health. It was obvious that they could win, but terror took over their minds. It seemed that they had chosen their target poorly… only someone insane would try to hunt in such a place alone. Someone with those eyes certainly was a criminal… a murderer.

Those two tried to run away, but after using Dash and with his enhanced speed, Jake quickly caught up with them. Lex was stabbed in the back and in order to get rid of that unpleasant feeling, he disconnected from the game. Julian did the same, but not before Jake could knock him down with his shield and Bash.

Jake clicked his tongue in annoyance since he wanted to torture them. Still, at least he noticed that their avatars left all their items behind.
