Midnight

Once it has turned to midnight, Sora gets close to Tia and pulls a musty blanket that he was able to find over both of them.

"I do not produce body heat, so it is more beneficial to just keep it for yourself" Tia says in response to the blanket.

"It's ok, I'm sure you can use my body heat to recharge or something" Sora quickly answers.

"I am already full of energy from the sun."

"Well even in that case, I don't care." Sora says firmly.

A few minutes pass as Sora and Tia argue childishly. After becoming tired of it, they just agree to share the blanket.

Sora wiggles around to get into position, and takes a deep breath.

"Good night, Tia!" Sora says quietly.

"Good night, Sor–"

Crunch.

A quiet yet noticeable noise of grass being stepped on radiates through the house.

Sora and Tia look over to where the noise came from; The front door.

"Get out of this house if things become unsafe, I will check what caused that noise" Tia whispers to Sora.

Tia briskly gets up and moves without making a single sound. She then scouts out a front window. Without a second's notice, her eyes blaze red, and she hides into a shadow of the house.

"I gave them the chemicals, they are totally knocked out" The voice of the old man calls.

"Great job, Jarkon. I knew we could trust you" Another voice speaks out.

The noise of rustling grass increases, and soon there are many voices speaking.

"So are we going to capture them now or what?"

"Sure, let's head in"

The door begins to creak open and the old man from before takes a few steps into the house. Sora is laying on the ground pretending to be asleep.

"I could have sworn there were two of them…"

"Maybe Jarkon's old brain has gone crazy!" A snickering voice calls out.

A few men can be heard laughing, and the old man makes an angry noise.

"You guys are a handful, I should have just looted 'em for myself." He mutters.

The old man then makes way for the other men to enter the house. They are all wearing face masks and bandanas. It does not seem to be a very bonded group, as there are few that are pickpocketing each other. Typical bandit behavior.

"So how much do ya reckon this kid will sell for on the market, boss?" The old man asks an abnormally tall and muscular man.

"Let's see. Black hair, a kid, and a human. Give or take 100,000 points." The boss says with a gruff voice.

The conversations of each bandit instantaneously stop. The old man looks up to the boss and gives a psychotic smile.

"It's been a pleasure knowing you boss!" The old man says in a high-pitch excited voice as he quickly shoves a laser pistol into the boss's forehead and pulls the trigger.

BLAM!

Smoke wafts out of the boss's head as he slowly falls to the floor.

"You guys better stay back from my loot or you will end up like the boss right here!" The old man screams as he waves his pistol, aiming at the other bandits. As the old man begins walking over to Sora, a hand from a shadow grasps him by the neck and slams him to the ground with immense force. It's Tia.

"23 confirmed targets, 21 remain." Tia says in a monotone voice.

She barrels her way into the group of bandits and whips her fist multiple times into a random bandit's chest with precise accuracy. Complete chaos ensues as bandit voices begin screaming and blaster shots fire off in seemingly random directions. Sora gets up from his act of sleeping and slips his way through the madness and out the front door.

"What the heck? H-Huh? What just happened?" Sora utters as he tries to catch his breath. He looks back into the house through a window and sees the outline of multiple bodies decorating the floor. Tia's glowing red dot eyes dance swiftly through the room with bandits falling lifelessly as they come within reach of her hands. Sora gets down on his belly as laser shots melt through the walls of the house.

After 15 or so minutes pass, the noise of the fight quiets down. Sora gets back onto his legs and very slowly checks through the window. Upon all the bodies, only one person stands. It is Tia. She then looks directly at Sora through the window with red eyes.

"Tia! Are you oka-"

"24 confirmed targets, 1 remain."

Tia then picks up a laser pistol from one of the fallen bandits and points it towards Sora.
