Saad's pov:
The next time I woke up, which was due to the sunlight filtering through the curtains and disturbing my sleep, my backache had increased. Even though she told me that she wouldn't do it again, I still couldn't trust her.
She still seemed to be sleeping peacefully snuggled up like a ball. Freshening up, I headed downstairs. Bhai and bhabi were supposed to be leaving today. Maybe after breakfast. And apparently, they wanted to talk to me. Making my way towards their room, I knocked on the door, hoping that they were up already and I wasn't disturbing them.
Luckily, bhai opened the door and greeted me with a smile. As we made our way towards the couch present in the room, I saw bhabi coming out of the washroom. Spotting me, she beamed. "Assalamualikum Saad! Thank God you came, I thought you slept in." She exclaimed in relief, making me smile slightly.
"Walikumussalam bhabi. How can I not come when you guys called me?" I asked mischievously.
"Yes now stop trying to flirt with my wife and listen to me." Bhai interrupted, sounding annoyed and a chuckle escaped my lips.
"How was this flirting?" Bhabi asked him teasingly, an amused look on her face.
"Yes bhai, did you forget that I'm married now." I inquired, enjoying his jealous and flustered expression.
"Okay, you weren't flirting, I give up. Now listen to me, will you?" He finally said, not meeting our gazes while raising his hands up, making us both chuckle.
Shaking my head, I looked at him attentively, now getting serious. "Yes bhai. I'm listening. You can continue."
"When are you coming back home?" He asked, looking at me seriously.
"I'm not sure. I was supposed to go back in two days, I guess." I replied.
"I see." He seemed to be in deep thoughts now. "And what do you plan to do now? Are you going to come back on the same date or are there any changes in your plan?" His question caught me off guard as I didn't even think about it yet.
"I- I don't know bhai. I will have to think about it." I replied hesitantly, now looking away. I saw bhabi coming to sit in front of us.
Bhai just hummed in response, making me anxious thinking about his next question.
"Have you talked to Atifa's mom? Like when is the ruksati going to be? And if she is coming home with you?" This time the question was asked by bhabi. And this question too, like the last one, caught me off guard and made me worried.
"No bhabi, I haven't talked to ammi yet. And I don't know if she will be coming with me." I replied, now confused and muddled up in my own thoughts. These were those few questions which I should have thought about before, but I was so busy in my own world that I didn't even think about them.
What kind of a guy was I? What was I even going to do if she decided to come home with me? How would I even confront mama and baba about this matter? And most importantly, when was I going back home? I couldn't stay here for long, that would make my parents suspicious. Bhai's question were something which caught me off guard and made me think about things which I should have thought about way before.
I was lost deep in my thoughts when I heard bhabi's voice. "Don't worry Saad. We will think about it. Everything will be alright, In Sha Allah." I glanced at her to see her looking at me with an understanding look and an assuring smile on her face.
I nodded my head, humming in response, although I couldn't shake these thoughts off my mind anymore. They seemed to be circling around, making a permanent place, swallowing me from inside.

I was pacing around in her room, trying to figure out a way to get us out of this mess. Bhai and bhabi left a while ago but I got a headache.
Sighing, I ran my hands through my hair before squeezing my eyes shut and throwing my head back. Ya Allah help me! Only you know what to do. I felt so lost. Everything seemed so overwhelming. It felt like someone just burst my bubble, bringing me back to reality from my dreamland. And this feeling wasn't pleasant. It was eating me up from inside.
Someone tapped my shoulder softly, jerking me out of my thoughts. I turned around to look at the source of my interruption and there she stood, beaming at me with a plate of cake in her hands. The same cake which we bought yesterday. My gaze roamed around, taking her appearance in, and I noticed that she was wearing a light green suit, her hair pulled back in a braid and it was looking kind of nice at her? I raised a brow, glancing at the plate in her hand, momentarily forgetting about my thoughts.
"Hey, what's up?" Her casual question caught me off guard. I wasn't expecting her to just come and ask me questions like that.
"Huh? N- Nothing." I replied, coming out of my dazed state.
"But you seem busy." She added, the smile still on her face.
"I wasn't doing anything." I passed her a small smile this time. At least I tried.
"So what were you thinking?" Her questions were starting to irritate me now.
"It's nothing." I replied, heaving a sigh. "What's up with you?" I added, trying to divert her mind as I glanced at the plate in her hand once again.
"Oh, I brought this cake for you. I'm not that mean too ke mai sab akele hi kha lu." She replied the last part sheepishly while extending the plate towards me.
(I'm not that mean too that I would eat the whole cake all by myself.)
"Oh accha, to aapko hamari yaad aa hi gayi." I teased, watching her reaction as I took the plate from her hands.
(Oh I see, so you remembered me after all.)
She lowered her head when she caught my gaze. I could see a tint of pink spreading on her cheeks. "Hame aap pehle se yaad the." She replied meekly before turning around and going towards her bed. Sitting on it, she busied herself in her mobile, not looking towards me. A small smile fought to appear on my lips and I let it win.
(I never forgot about you.)
I made my way towards the couch before sitting and keeping the plate aside. A sigh escaped my lips as those thoughts once again hit me like a brick, making me lose my balance. I closed my eyes before throwing my head back.
"Kya hua?" I heard her asking me, concern was visible in her voice which strangely comforted me.
(What happened?)
"Kuch nahi." I replied, now looking at her and trying to pass her a small smile. Needless to say, it was in vain.
(Nothing.)
"Lekin aisa lag to nahi raha hai." She commented, making me annoyed.
(But it doesn't seem like that.)
"Kaha na ek baar ke kuch nahi hua. Samajh me kyu nahi aa raha hai tumhe?" I replied in a hard voice, now getting angry at her persistence.
(I told you once that it's nothing. Why can't you understand?)
"Accha theek hai. But you know you can tell me anything right? I will-"
(Okay.)
"Accha jaan na hai na tumhe ke baat kya hai? Haina? To suno. Your sweet and sensible ammi had kidnapped me!" Interrupting her, I growled, my voice turning sweet as sugar in the end, making her eyes go wide as she looked at me in shock. Disbelief clear on her face.
(Okay you want to know what's the problem, right? So listen. Your sweet and sensible ammi had kidnapped me!)

▪ What do you think is going to happen next? Will she believe him? Or will she just accuse him without listening to him completely?
