Town and Return

The next day Jasper concluded that if Lucas could control himself with a man nearly bleeding out, he could in the town.

Lucas and Jasper left quite early, just as the sun awoke. They quickly ran towards the town arriving a little after 7 AM.

Upon their arrival they saw all of the natives whispering and gossiping about them.

Jasper could sense Lucas' struggle not only with the blood, but with the gossiping. He could feel Lucas' anxiety.

He quickly thought of something to distract him as Lucas eyes were now flickering because of the flurry of emotions.

Jasper did the only thing he could think of, he grabbed Lucas' hand.

Instantly distracted, Lucas' calmed down, turned to Jasper and thanked him.

Once Lucas had calmed down and they were walking with no destination Lucas said "Why don't we get some souvenirs for Bella and Charlie. Once they stop being worried they should be mad, to dampen that I should buy them something."

Jasper agreed. They both headed to a store at the end of the street called "Alaskan Trinkets and MORE", Lucas thought 'This place is weird.' as they walked in.

The old gypsy-like woman said "Come in, Come in, welcome to my store. What are you searching for?"

"Some souvenirs, mam', do you have any recommendations?" Lucas said.

"Oh yes, for you here a ward." She says as she picks up what seems to be a mini dream catcher. "For for your father, Charlie a bracelet, and sister, Bella a necklace. For you Jasper this book, make sure Alice sees it."

Lucas pays her, says thanks, and goes to walk away then she says conspiratorially yet seriously "A warning, never let the objects leave your side."

Lucas turned quickly only to see she wasn't there, then he got the chills.

He looked at Jasper and said "How....did.....she....know...about Bella, Charlie, you and Alice?"

Jasper froze and shook his head as he did not know.

They quickly returned to the Denali's home.

Jasper said "Although creepy it would be best to follow her advice." Lucas agreed.

The next day Jasper said "Although surprised, I'll allow you to return, but as we have the weekend we'll return on Monday. During this time I'll train you, that woman gave me a sinking suspicion that something big is happening soon."

The next day if one was watching the two you would see Lucas being beaten up.

This went on until Sunday when while they were sparring, Lucas all of a sudden developed a invisible shield that blocked one of Jasper's punches.

The fighting immediately stopped, Lucas said "What was that?!?"

Jasper said " I presume your gift, we'll have to ask Carlisle to be sure."

With that being said they departed on a once again peaceful flight.

When they returned they were greeted by something that would shock them for the rest of their lives.
