Chapter 1Prologue

It all happens so fast. One moment, he stood in the crowded train station platform, waiting for the train to stop so we could get in and go home. It had been a hot, grueling day at work, and he had been looking forward to just going home, grabbing some food on the way, and then chilling and playing games to destress. In the next moment, he felt the sensation of a hand pushing him from the back. He vaguely recalls falling forward towards the side of the still-moving train.

And then nothing.

Did he… Die?  Just like that? But why? Who did it? How could this have happened? What about his parents? His siblings? His one potted plant was at his house, and he left his apartment a mess that morning. His family's going to have to come and clean that up. He wished he had thrown the trash last night to lessen their burden. And money has been a problem for his folks lately. That's why he's been taking extra shifts at work to try and help out more. They're going to have to use their savings to arrange for his funeral. Are his papers even remotely sorted? Will his parents get to receive his savings from the bank? They weren't much, but it's all he had. Hopefully, it'll help with his brother and sisters' college tuition. How do these things work?! he was 24 years old! He didn't think of preparing for any of these!

There were still so many things he wanted to do as well! He shouldn't have put off going to that new restaurant across his work for too long. Maybe He should've agreed to that blind date his friend wanted to set him up last month. He's never even had a girlfriend! His previous conversation with his little sister was a bit tense. Maybe he should have been nicer about her new boyfriend. He should've spent a bit more time with his little brother, who wanted to come and visit him in the city.

So many thoughts breezing past his mind that he could barely keep up. Then it occurred to him…

Where was he?

He seems to be still conscious somehow. He was able to think. But that's the only thing he could do. There was no other sensation. He could not hear or smell or see or feel anything.

Oh my God, is this what it's like to be dead? You just float in this dark abyss, conscious? This is hell! This is actual hell!! This can't be happening!!!

He felt himself starting to panic, but what could he do? He started screaming in his mind.

Aaaaaaahhhhh!!! Let me out, let me out!!!! Someone!!!! Anyone!!!!!

Then, suddenly, an overwhelming rush of sensation surrounded him. He could hear a thunderous heartbeat and felt his whole body constrained. Oh god, what was happening?! He couldn't breathe! So he struggled against the feeling. He heard voices! They sounded panicked about something.

Ah, did he fall on the train track? Perhaps people are trying to help him. He opened his mouth to say something when suddenly he was surrounded by a bright light, and a cold breeze hit his body.

He heard a loud baby crying! A very loud baby, geez kid, calm down. I'm the one that's injured here. He felt a handle over his body, but it felt weird. Too many sensations, too many voices. It was hurting his ears. And the crying still hasn't stopped.

Then he felt someone holding him close to their body. He could hear the heartbeat of the person. It was a woman! She was saying something to him, but he couldn't understand.

Too close, lady. That was what he wanted to say. But the shushing sound she was making and her heartbeat felt so calming. The crying stopped. Maybe it was the baby's mother. Suddenly, he felt tired. He seems all right now, as the people around him have calmed down.

So, he guessed it was safe for him to go to sleep.

He can't think anymore; the shushing was so comforting. He will take a little nap, and when he wakes up, he'll sort out everything else.

Then he went to sleep, cradled in his mother's embrace.

Rejected Luna: Untamed Desire Of The Lycan Alpha

“I, Dominic Cherith, reject you, Inez Sinclair, as my mate. A lying, traitorous tramp like you has no right to become my mate and the Luna of this pack.” As a half shifter, Inez Sinclair had hoped and dreamt of the day when she would meet her mate for the first time. However, the dreamy fantasy turned into her hellish nightmare when her ex-best friend and mate rejected her in front of the pack. To cap it all, he did it with a trash can turned upside down on her head. The reason? She had betrayed him, but Inez had no idea about this unknown betrayal that he spoke of. After years of endless torment, this rejection was the final blow that broke the camel’s back. Inez finally came to face the reality that she had been ignoring for years. Her best friend was gone, and in place of him stood a fiend who looked at her as if she was his worst enemy. But what truly broke her was the last betrayal of her mate. Withholding the last fragments of their mating bond, Dominic slept with another shifter—a shifter she despised and loathed, causing Inez to feel every bit of pleasure he gave the woman. Hear every sigh and moan through their mating bond. The impact broke her and left her wolf half dead. Not wanting to waste any more time with the awful bastard, Inez was prepared to run away from the pack, even if it meant to die as a rogue or live between humans where the fanatics could kill her for being a shifter. Only if she knew that Dominic blamed her for the death of his sister Abertha. And he caught her stealing the Tears of Sirens in the surveillance recording—the magical remedy that could bring the dead back to life! Ironically, Inez was part siren. Something she never relayed to anyone in the pack, not even Dominic for shifters took sirens as their slaves, tormenting them in hope that they would shed Tears of Siren. The endless torment only brought one thing to sirens: Death. She swore to never let anyone find out about the truth—that was until she ran into Killian Sokolov, an Alpha Lycan shifter. A man of sheer masculinity and charm and an unknown anger packed in ice so thick. With his slick lies, he could win the heart of any woman but refuses to leave her alone after finding out that Inez was part siren. But as a part siren, why would Inez steal the Siren’s tears? And if she didn’t steal them, whom did Dominic see in the surveillance recording? As secrets unfolds and boundaries set in stones disappear – Would Inez and Killian give love a second chance, letting go of their past? And to what lengths would Dominic go if he found out the truth? Will Killian be able to heal her broken heart before all is lost?

Two people with secrets to keep, identities to hide, and answers to find. When the certain darkness threatens to take Oriana away, will the Dragon be able to protect his mate? ----- Excerpt- “If I knew you were my betrothed, I would have killed you the very first moment we met." Arlan's gaze darkened with hatred. “If I knew I was betrothed to you, I would have killed myself before you even killed me!” Oriana mirrored the same emotions as him. He pulled out a dagger and offered it to her. “It’s not too late. Just slit your throat with this and you'll bleed out painlessly.” She accepted the knife, her fingers clutching its handle tightly. The next moment, he was pressed against the wall and the knife was on the right side of his neck. “How about I try it on you first, my betrothed?” “Feel free to try. But when you fail, this knife will first taste your grandpa's blood, then yours.” Anger rose in her eyes, and the next moment, blood was flowing through the right side of his neck. She cut deep enough to severe an important blood vessel. “You should not have challenged me,” she sneered and stepped back, waiting for him to collapse. He simply smirked and brushed his finger along the deep wound on his neck. “Seems like you failed.” She watched the wound on his neck heal on its own and felt shocked to her bones. “You.. what are you?” “Guess?” ----- Instagram- mynovel.20 Facebook- Author mynoveltwenty
