The Vinculum

Hey guys this is my first attempt at writing, open to criticism and new ideas. feel free to comment what needs improvement or any thoughts or ideas you may have. Callum Vivifica is born in Aemulo Terr, a planet similar to Earth. With some exceptions. Humans born on Aemulo Terr must go through "The Vinculum" which is a sacrificial ritual performed when a child is born. when the child is born a sacrifice must be made. the greater the sacrifice the greater the yield. Most children do not receive anything since their sacrifice is not sufficient. When the sacrificial ceremony has been completed a being(God's, creatures, even powerful humans) will come or send a Evocatorem (servant to a higher being)to bestow the child a part of their, or their masters, soul. this will grant them; powers, physiques, and personalities of the souls they are bound too. these children are called the vinctum. but should a sacrificial ceremony fail, the child is branded with deaths seal and when death deems it time will collect their souls. *I do not own the cover art
