The Beast

Eric didn't like doing this, but a job was a job. He couldn't afford to miss any opportunities as at the moment he had no other job and was flat broke. Eric was in charge of removing dead bodies from around the human and elven border.

"its like there's no end to the bloodshed" Eric mumbled

The war between the human and elven race has raged on for millennia. When both sides had suffered too severe losses the war was put to a halt, but as of late the war has has been raging harder then ever, and the body count is more then doubled.

As he piled the body's into the large carriage, a cold aura began to fill the area.

"If i knew how cold it would be i would have brought my overcoat." Eric said as he shivered.

The moment he closed his mouth, Eric could have sworn that he saw a large shadow moved by one of the buildings at the abandoned camp. The shadow moved so fast he was sure he had imagined it. But then he heard a faint rustle by the same spot he saw the shadow. He was suddenly very alert and then and yelled:

"Hello?!?" His voice echoed in the silence "Is someone there?"

Slowly a shadow approached him, the second he saw the way the creature was moving, he knew what it was. Eric was speechless at the sight of the beast. It was a corrupted tiger, a beast corrupted by the past elven leaders magic to fight humans. Very little is known by humans about these beasts. Eric was told stories about them by his mother, and had never forgotten the stories.

Eric, breaking out of trance tried running, he was no match for the enhanced speed of the corrupted tiger. He felt the momentum of the creature collide with his back and he blacked out.

When he came to, there was a flash of silver. As he opened his eyes fully he saw a beautiful girl in a brilliant white gown that could light up the whole room.

"Are you ok?" She murmurs gently

Eric gently lifted his head and held his head in his hands, it felt as if his head was a drum and it hurt to move.

"What... happened?" he said nauseated

"You were attacked, by an enforcer." She said casually

It was then that Eric noticed the pointy ears and gasped. Se stared at him attentively and finally spoke again.

"You may be confused as to why I saved you, and the answer is... I don't know. I saw you injured and couldn't help but feel bad for you. Even though our tribe leaders have always said that humans are demons, but i must disagree."

Eric stared off for a while and laughed.

"Its funny huh?" he said still staring off " All this war and bloodshed and there's still those who care about the other side."

He stared at the Elf woman in front of him and asked. "What is your name if i might ask?"

"It's Daria" she said walking over to his bedside table
