The Soul Eater's Possession

"Devin, do you love me?" Hearing her question that had snapped him out of his thoughts, the Soul Eater opened his eyes slowly to meet her blue eyes once more. He smiled foolishly as his right hand reached out to her face, his thumb caressing her bottom lip. "Is that a question you dare ask your husband?" Angeal pouted like a child. "Tell me you love me... or I’ll cry." Devin chuckled, making Angeal pout more as she narrowed her eyes at him. When Devin ceased his jovial laughter, he didn’t answer her question. Instead, he bent down as he pulled her closer to him, his lips smoothly landing on hers to give her a loving kiss. ’I love you, Angeal. Before I even knew it, my heart yearned for you.’ ~ Punished by the Almighty Seraphim, Devin was branded a fallen angel and was given a curse to become a Soul Eater—a being who is hungry for souls and feeds on them for sustenance. Devin was bound on earth, looking for clues on how to cure his irrevocable curse until a desperate old man saw the Soul Eater and begged him to save his newborn granddaughter’s life. However... it comes with the price of selling both of their souls. With the old man giving both of their lives to the Soul Eater, what path lies ahead for Angeal as she grows in a house full of magical immortals? ~ The Almighty Seraphim sighed, shaking herself from her thoughts. She then spoke, planting more curiosity in the mind of the Dominion who was watching over the Soul Eater. "Continue watching over them. She is his cure, but it will lead her to oblivion.” ~ With the Soul Eater cursed and with them eventually knowing that the sweet innocent girl he saved is the cure, will their relationship be a boon or a bane? Will they perhaps have sweet love, forbidden love... or maybe even both? With the given thoughts at hand, will fate bless their lives... or curse them even more? Let us know the answers to these questions as we unravel the story of Angeal being the Soul Eater’s Possession. ~ NOTE: COMPLETED Some chapters may contain R-18 content. Twelve Angels

In a realm above the mortal world, here sat a beautiful deity—a goddess, overlooking her beings from inside her kingdom's window. There were blue clouds, sunset orange clouds, to pink clouds in their realm as the heavenly beings aside were bustling in different kinds of activities. With this sight, she smiled, then turned around to speak.

"What are the 12 angels doing," asked the silver-haired goddess as she spun her index finger playfully around a cloud, turning it pink.

"As usual, your highness," a man wearing what seemed to be a Greek robe, looking like a Greek god, answered and the goddess nodded in satisfaction.

"Good. You are dismissed," she instructed as she was left alone in the vast white room. She sat on the cloud behind her then with just one wave of her hand, a fog appeared in front of her, showing what the 12 angels were doing.

These 12 angels stand as paragons of the twelve personas that mortals carry in their lives. To be born under a certain sign might cause a person to favor one of these angels. These angels exist in every person.

Malahidel, the Angel of Aries was called the instigator. The moment before people act, there must be an impulse to begin. Sometimes this force comes from a person's own will and sometimes it seems to arise from nothing.

From the beginning of the abyss, Malahidel emerges, bringing with it the strength to enact change. For this angel, there is always danger in its presence, but more hardship without it.

The Angel of Taurus, Asmodel, is the supporter. To stay steady, enjoying a moment of reprise is not selfish. To him, a breath that takes mortals back to the center is essential. When mortals acknowledge this, they wield a strength that can push back against the spin of the world.

Asmodel is the embodiment of the focus and dedication a mortal holds when they make commitments. A moment of clarity is grasped once the hand turns into a tight fist.

Ambriel, the Angel of Gemini, is considered the communicator. It is the bridge between people and is one of the most fundamental aspects of the human experience. The arts, the philosophy and history... all embody the way mortals reach out to each other through time and space.

Angel Ambriel does not exist in a single space, but in the hearts and minds of those that truly understand its nature.

The Angel of Cancer, Muriel, is considered as the mortals' protector. The face the mortals show outside and who they are inside are always different. That shell they build over their hearts exists to gird them against the barbs of the world.

The essence of Angel Muriel is not only a shield that holds harm at bay, but it is also the warmth that brings life and healing into the mortals' lives.

The Virgin, Hamaliel, Angel of Virgo, has untapped potential below the surface and is withheld until the moment is right. This angel has a reservoir of energy that stands in wait, holding a very special sort of power through its hidden nature. This angel embodies that secret wellspring that flows from mortals.

Verchiel, the Angeal Leo, also called the ruler. He brings courage to bring shining light into a world that struggles against the darkness. As adversity washes against the mortals, they rise with those waves as they are challenged by the world to be bold and to be in control with the nature of the universe.

Angel of Libra, Zuriel, the regulator. The rotations of the celestial bodies provide a macrocosm of a mortal's internal relationships. Zuriel is the regulator of these forces, weighing their value and attempting to find balance.

The vindicator, Barbiel, the Angel of Scorpio. The nature of this angel is to be an ally. When trials beset the mortals' lives, and no other course of action is available, they have no choice but to fight. Barbiel is the sword against the darkness wherein power to strike back is also necessary.

Advachiel, the wanderer, Angel of Sagittarius. To him, in this space beyond the veil of the familiar, an adventure awaits. It is his task to let mortals feel that a part of them never stopped existing in the wilderness. Advachiel guides the mortals to rejoin in union, to live for the sake of life.

The Angel of Capricorn, Hanael, is considered as the shepherd. Walking into the future of the past, mortals travel a perilous journey. This angel leads the mortals to carry the torch of responsibility and tradition. The long and lonely road that stretches before them must be walked, but the angel reminds them that it does not need to be walked alone.

The Angel of Aquarius, Cambies, is called as the vessel. The mortals take the experiences and emotions that have been given to them and pass them along. They weigh the good and the bad, the beauty and the pain.

To Cambies, to enrich those around the mortals, they sacrifice a little piece of themselves by pouring out their hearts, in hopes that another vessel will take a drop of it with them.

Lastly, the Angel of Pisces, Barchiel, also the healer. When harm comes to people, the relationships and the things in their lives, Barchiel leads them to take time to help repair them. It is not easy to bring those pieces back together but with this angel's guidance, it will bring them back to having a good life. Choosing to cultivate, it helps mortals bring them closer to their truer selves.

Satisfied with what the 12 angels were doing, the Deity of their realm waved her hand again, making the fog in front of her disappear. A few minutes later, a servant appeared in front of her, then knelt down in her presence. Not expecting anyone, the beautiful deity slightly furrowed her brows, slightly alarmed by an angel's appearance right before her eyes.

"Ivar is here, your majesty," he informed and the almighty deity smiled as she spoke. Her finger slightly twitched as her heart slightly quickened its pace but she concealed her surprise.

"Oh?" The silver-haired deity reacted as she cocked her head to the side. "What is my son's personal servant doing here after leaving the realm for more than a hundred of years?"

Special mention to oniemai, a silent reader who just commented last chapter. Thank you! I do hope there are more silent readers commenting! ^^

For this chapter, I referenced the 12 angels from “The Zodiac” in the Encyclopedia of Angels. I only used their appearance for the introduction of this realm for my story. Anyway, since rankings have reset... do gimme stones! XD Thanks for reading! ^^
