Quick Thinking

The guards gave me a shove as they opened the containment cell, causing me to stumble. I spun around as the door slid shut, "Wait-" The door let out a small puff of air as it sealed. I frowned.

Once again, I'm in a cell.

Did I do something wrong?

I turned around. The cell was white with wooden floors. Classic house style. A bed was in the corner with some books. I walked to the bed, but I didn't sit down. I'd gotten so used to having my voice heard, that I forgot what they only see me as.

An SCP.

A Skip.

In frustration, I kicked the wall and began pacing. The cold feeling was still in my chest. I still had no idea what it was. Anger? Anxiety? Regardless, it had begun to grow stronger.

I finally sat down and placed a hand on the feeling. I took deep breaths to see if it would leave, but it didn't. I shook my head.

Something felt off.

I took some more deep breaths when I felt the ground shake. At first, I thought it was my imagination. But then it shook once more, knocking the books off the bed.

I stood up and began to look around. I then noticed a huge crack in the wall behind where I was just sitting. I stumbled backward and crouched down next to the door. If something was coming, I needed a way out of here.

The wall shook once more and I spotted a red claw push through. Sounds came from the other side that hinted there was more than one of those things. A voice spoke on the other side, "Hello, Skip! It's time to come out now."

I shivered. I heard about an SCP like this. It imitates voices and hunts in packs.

SCP-939, nicknamed, "With Many Voices."

I hit the door, "Help! SCP-939 has breached!!" I heard something hit the wall again and the crack got bigger. 939 could squeeze its big-red head in. I hit the door again, "Please!! Anyone!!" I heard the wall break and it squeezed a leg in.

"Please!! Anyone!!" It imitated. It started to move quicker, digging at the walls as other creatures helped.

I pressed my back against the door, my mind was racing. I could try and squeeze past them, but it would be hard with the other 939 attacking. I crouched, preparing to escape, when the door opened and a hand grabbed me, "Iris!"

I turned and spotted an MTF agent. I spotted the silver pendant around his neck and smiled, "Bright!"

"Yeah yeah," He pulled me to my feet and pulled me out the door, "Not the time."

"How did they breach?! Also, WHY ARE THEY HERE?!"

"I don't know," Bright shut the door and locked it, "They're usually kept near storage area 6 a few floors down!" He looked around before grabbing my hand, "Come on!" He leads me down the hallway, "We need to get to the breach shelter."

Suddenly, the door to my cell flew off the hinges as a red beast charged out. It sniffed the air and turned towards us, "Iris! Bright!" It imitated Jack's voice before charging toward us.

"RUN!" Bright took down the hallway, his new body carrying him quickly. I followed quickly, my training coming in handy. I felt the ground shake as the beast charged after us. We made a sharp turn around a corner and dashed towards the shelter.

We ran past some MTF agents who shouted at us, "Hey! What are you-"

"Keter-939 breach!" Bright shouted, holding his pendant out to show them, "Quadrant 55 and moving!"

The guards snapped to attention, "Yes Dr. Bright!" They turned and followed us as SCP-939 rounded the corner. They ducked behind boxed and opened fire on the pack that followed.

Bright and I kept running. I could feel the commotion through the ground as we ran. "Did we lose them?" I gasped, running out of breath. We both looked behind us. Nothing seemed to be following, so we slowed our pace to catch our breaths.

Bright leaned up against the wall, "Holy cow. I thought we were a goner. Thank goodness we're safe."

Before I could respond, the wall in front of us exploded, and another 939 stepped out. It turned towards us and roared in our faces, its breath smelling of rotten flesh and mold, causing me to gag. Bright turned towards the creature and frowned, "Oh come on."

With a flash of red, SCP 939 pounced on Bright, tearing into his flesh and sending his amulet flying.

"Jack!!" I cried out and dashed at the amulet while 939 was tearing the body apart. Knowing not to touch it directly, I pulled my vest off and wrapped the amulet in it. Just as I picked it up, 939 let out another cry and charged at me. Instinct took over and I ducked under its legs. I slid onto my feet and dashed the opposite way, causing a second of confusion. I lept over Dr. Bright's body, grabbed his keycard, and ran. I turned the corner when I paused.

The cell to my left had my camera.

I pulled his key card out and slipped in, just as 939 was about to pounce. I backed up as it pounded on the door. It'll break through soon enough. I gotta move fast. Turning around revealed my Polaroid camera, inside a plastic case safe and sound.

I opened its container and pulled it out, my fingers falling into familiar grooves. Lifting it up, I snapped a picture of the room. The door flew off the hinges and the beast lept in and I dashed past it. I slipped on rubble on my way out, causing my location to be known. I snapped another picture of the hall, the beast giving chase once more.

I caught the picture and put it with the first. I ducked into a crevasse as the creature barreled past like a raging bull. Snapping another picture, I hid around the corner as it tried to locate me. Moving back to the hole 939 made in the wall, I pulled the second picture out and reached through. I grabbed some rubble and made a noise. I heard it screech from further down the hall and I saw it around the corner in my picture. Using the other two pictures, I made more noise, causing it to move between the three places. I snapped one more picture before ducking into another cell to wait for rescue. Till then, I kept myself entertained by teasing 939 back and forth.

About two hours later, I finally spotted some MTF walking down the hall where 939 was resting, exhausted from 105 minutes of chasing a being not there. I used the picture again, writing on the wall, "Cell 085, Scp 105. Help." (If you are wondering what I wrote with, let's just say that there was a lot of red ink).

A few minutes later, they charged into the room, "SCP-105, put your hands up!"

I raised them and got on my knees, "Doctor Bright's host was killed during the attack. I grabbed his amulet," I nodded towards the item in the wrapped-up vest, "SCP-105-b is here as well. I used it to protect myself."

The agents grabbed my camera and gingerly picked up Jack's amulet. "Contain 105," One of them ordered to another. They came over and cuffed me, the weight making my heart sink again. Dragging me out of the cell, they began to walk to the shelter. As we walked past a hole 939 made, I spotted a body on the floor.

Dressed in a familiar outfit with two letters on their badge.
