Finally, We Meet

Charles sat on an asteroid on the edge of space. He was toying with his phone, a once inanimate object, brought to life by his whim.

The phone deformed and crawled over his hands up to his shoulder. Beneath his feet was an unconscious Xavier.

Charles had been watching Xavier battle from afar. Pathetic, Charles thought to himself.

Back in school, Xavier had been a promising student. It was quite unnerving to see him beaten so badly. Charles stood there and stretched.

He would have to wait for Xavier to wake up before taking him to his friends.

He was too heavy after all.

Charles' phone began to crawl back down his arm. Charles grabbed it and turned it back into an inanimate object.

"Still no bars," Charles muttered, putting the phone back in his pocket. He plopped back down next to Xavier and pulled out a book. It's gonna be a long while, Charles thought to himself.

To Benjamin, it had felt like hours. They were still floating through the endless rock-filled void that was Beelzebub's dimension. He had slowly been nodding off for the past 20 minutes and was on the edge of falling asleep.

"We're here," Isaiah called out. In front of them was a massive asteroid, larger than any they'd ever seen. Jackie landed her kitsune towards the outer edges of the asteroid.

The asteroid was even more massive on the surface. The side they were on was almost completely covered by shadow. Benjamin felt weird. Something was drawing him towards Beelzebub.

Isaiah set his mace down on the ground and looked at his watch. The display was cracked but he completely disregarded it. He held the watch up after modifying it with some runes.

He turned to Evan and tossed it to him. "Take this," he said. "What does this do?" Evan asked in reply. Isaiah bent down to pick his mace back up and began to talk, "I've modified it to increase your time-stopping abilities." "This will allow you to slow down and speed up time in addition to stopping it."

Evan put the watch on. Immediately it meshed with his skin. Benjamin watched in awe as the watch disappeared beneath his skin. "Guess we'll just have to wait to see if it works," Evan said nervously.

Benjamin strode past Evan and moved towards the top of the asteroid.

Velena went after him and everyone else followed. They had been walking for several minutes when Lennox asked, "Why's this asteroid so big?" "This chunk of rock was most likely a result of a planetary fragmentation," Isaiah explained.

"When the planet broke into pieces this larger piece survived because the destructive force wasn't as powerful as it could be." "I don't think we needed that much information Isaiah," Benjamin said, exasperated.

"Well, Evan did ask," Isaiah replied. The light banter stopped when they reached the top of the asteroid. The asteroid was flat for about fifty yards before dropping down into a crater. Benjamin saw a massive crystal protruding out of the crater.

It was the same crystal that had been on the machine that invaded their dimension. Benjamin carefully drew Broken War, his sword. He proceeded to walk over to the crater but was stopped by a hand on his shoulder. He turned to see Velena shaking his head.

"Together," he mouthed. Benjamin looked back to see everyone else. Evan had Excalibur drawn but had a look of fear in his eyes. Isaiah was sweating where he stood with the same petrified look Evan had.

Corey and Lennox stood side by side but looked like complete opposites. Corey looked fearful while Lennox had a resolved look on his face.

Jackie was looking back and forth between Benjamin and Velena. "Come on guys," Benjamin said. "We just need to take these guys out and then we can go back home."

"Easier said than done," Isaiah muttered. But he too went with everyone else as they all started walking toward the crater. Upon reaching the crater they peeked inside to see the machine that had destroyed their dimension.

At the base where the controls were was Adina. A tall man stood behind her. Four men could be seen in the distance.

They were all taunting Alphaeus apart from one who was silent. "What are we doing guys?" a voice called out from behind them.

When everyone turned around in alarm the voice laughed. They were suddenly pushed off the edge of the crater. Benjamin plunged his sword into the ground to stop himself from sliding down any farther.

Lennox regained his footing and began to sprint down the slope. He reached the bottom and came face to face with Alphaeus. In front of Alphaeus, a man appeared. "Azriel!!!" Alphaeus yelled at the man. "You lost to them?!?" Azriel taunted.

Alphaeus' face went red as he turned away from Lennox. Benjamin slid down to join Lennox at the bottom of the slope. He asked, "Why did you destroy our dimension?" "That is none of your concern," a cold voice said from behind Azriel and Alphaeus.

The tall man Benjamin had seen earlier walked from behind the two and stood right in front of Benjamin. The man took on a surprise appearance after seeing Benjamin's face. "Ah yes, I remember you now, Adina told me."

"What," Benjamin asked, raising an eyebrow. "Nothing," the man replied quickly. He turned away from Benjamin and strode a few paces. He turned back around and said, "My name is Beelzebub, and I want to have a duel with you."

Benjamin was taken aback by this request. He had just met Beelzebub and he was already being challenged to a duel. However, Benjamin got an idea that could work if he wins the duel. "I accept," Benjamin said.

"On one condition. If I win you have to give us back our dimension." Beelzebub smirked, "Ok and if I win, I'll keep your dimension." "Sounds fair," Benjamin said. Benjamin immediately took up his battle stance.

Beelzebub however didn't move. He just stood there, menacingly. Benjamin, with no other option, lunged forward and so the battle began.
