Nick was sure he wasn't being followed by the time he arrived in front of Lydia's house. He felt sure there was no tracking device attached to his body. That was why he dared to hide in Lydia's house for hours.
And he was pretty sure no one would recognize him when he came out of the girl's house with a much-modified figure.
