Shadows on the Horizon
The chamber filled with an oppressive weight as the dark, humanoid figures formed out of the shadows. Their glowing red eyes gleamed with malevolent intent, and the air crackled with dark energy. Lumi's heart raced as she took in the sight before her. These weren't just Erick's followers—these were pure manifestations of his magic, sent to stop them from reactivating the wards.
He had known they were coming, and now, his magic had found them.
Lumi raised Glaciel, icy magic swirling around the hammer as she stepped forward. Cyana was still at the altar, her hands glowing as she worked to reactivate the ancient wards, but the dark figures were closing in fast.
"We need to buy her time," Lumi called to Heath and June, her voice steady despite the tension in the air. "Don't let them reach Cyana!"
Heath grunted in response, his eyes narrowing as he stepped in front of Cyana, his axe gleaming in the flickering light. "I've got this side covered."
