Scene 8

(This scene opens with the kids being shown on the screen sleeping. They are all turning on their beds when they lazily stretch their hands, pick up their alarm and see the time is 7:15. They smile and mutter some words in their sleep)

Whitney: Hmm, sleep

Isaac: More time. More sleep

Jennifer: Umm, there is still...

All of them: Breakfast!

(They jump out of bed and rush to the bathroom and start getting ready. Minutes later, they come downstairs running. They come to a halt when they enter the kitchen. The staff look at them with confusion on their faces).

Ene: Ah, why una dey run like that this early morning.

Jennifer: We didn't want to walk to school... Or go without having breakfast.

Isaac: Or launch.

Whitney: Or ice dinner.

(Ene, Titi, Chuks and Kunle look at them then look at Anna then smile as she is looking at the kids smiling)

Jennifer: What's amusing you?

Anna: The thing wey u dey look for don happen, no school today.

Whitney: Why is that?

Anna: Look me, I resemble your teacher or principal?

Isaac: Are you sure?

Anna: You sure say you well this morning so?

Isaac: Um, I feel fine.

Anna: Then no ask me that kind question again. Oya make una go sleep. Go

(They walk out of the kitchen slowly still looking at Anna suspiciously. After they leave, the rest of the staff look at Anna)

Titi: I no know say school call today oh. (Anna looks at Titi, then they all look back at Anna and start smiling). School did not call?

(A small smile creeps up Anna's face then they start laughing).

Kunle: They no call!

Chuks: Kai reduce your voice na, you want make dem hear.

Kunle: (Whispering). They no call... hey...

Ene: To God who made me this thing wey you do so... na better thing. See as e make me smile this morning.

Kunle: No be lie. E dey sweet me for body.

Titi: E good for them.

Anna: Abeg na una go make me laugh pass. Make I go rest, if anybody dey find me, I dey that woman room.

Ene: Ah Tomike no go allow you enter her room oh.

Anna: She dey comot soon, so I go enter when she don go.

Kunle: Anna. Anna, you this babe you be bad babe.

Anna: (Laughs). I dey learn work oh.

(She leaves the kitchen).

Ene: Oya una don laugh finish, dey go.

Kunle: We still dey talk na.

Ene: Go backyard finish your talk, I won work for kitchen.

Kunle: But how you won con hear the remaining tory na?

Ene: I go open window.

Kunle: Wait, but...

Ene: But Kunle! I go remove meat from your food.

Kunle: See me I dey go.

(Kunle leaves immediately and Titi and Chuks follow leaving Ene in the kitchen as she opens the cabinet and begins to bring out spices and the scene fades out).

Scene 8b

(This scene opens with the clock in Jennifer's room being shown as it reads 2pm. Her phone starts to ring seconds later. She removes her pillow and covers her ear. The ringing stops only to start again after some seconds, She groans and stretches her hand to her night stand and picks up the phone and answer's the call with her face in her pillow making her voice sound muffled).

Jennifer: What!

Amaka: Are you okay? Are you sick?

Jennifer: Don't I sound peachy.

Amaka: No you don't...

Cynthia: Jennifer...

Jennifer: Please keep her away from the phone.

Amaka: Consider her away, what's wrong with your voice?

Jennifer: Pillow.

Amaka: Have you been sleeping all day?

Jennifer: Yes, is it a crime?

Amaka: When you are not supposed to yes.

Jennifer: Amaka, it's Friday beginning of the weekend and there was no school, I can afford to sleep all day...

Amaka: Who said there was no school?

Jennifer: School.

Amaka: Babe I'm being serious.

Jennifer: I'm being serious too, now please let me go back to sleep.

Amaka: I'm serious girl. While you were getting your ultimate extra super ultra legend note pro max premium sleep, we were in class with our wonderful teachers.

Jennifer: (Turns and faces up). Wait you are being serious?

Amaka: For the third time, yes. Where did you get the information that there was no school?

Jennifer: Well it was Anna that... Anna. (She gets up and out of the bed quickly, shuffling with her slippers with her legs as she tries to put them on).

Amaka: J what is it? What happened?

Jennifer: Nothing. Please I'll take your notes on Monday. Thanks for the info.(Puts on her slippers and leaves the room).

Amaka: Welcome.

Jennifer: Okay bye, call you later. (She ends the call and knocks on Isaac's door then goes to knock on Whitney's and keeps knocking on both doors till they open it).

Whitney and Isaac: What!

Jennifer: Who is your father?

Whitney and Isaac: Fredrick James Williams the Billionaire.

Jennifer: Good, you are awake. It was a lie.

Whitney: What?

Jennifer: Anna.

Isaac: The microwave, ice dinner, no Chuks to drive us to school or the supposedly kind, civil, refined, sane person that walked into our house on Sunday, be specific.

Jennifer: The, "the school called" no school lie.

(Whitney and Isaac widen their eyes). I knew it was too good to be true.

Isaac: And you didn't say anything?

Jennifer: I looked at her suspiciously.

Isaac: And it definitely made her say the truth now that it is a substitute for talking. (Jennifer hits his head). Ow. (He rubs it). What are we going to do, dad is going to kill us if... when he finds out.

Jennifer: Not if we handle the situation. (They look at her and she looks back at them and nods, then they nod back. They step out of their rooms fully and close the doors).

Whitney: Okay then, follow me ladies.

(They walk downstairs and head to the kitchen. Ene is talking with Titi when they enter. Ene and Titi look at them as they open the fridge. Isaac passes some bottles of water to Whitney and she keeps them on the table. Jennifer picks a deep bowl and puts it on the table and starts pouring out the water from the bottles into the bowl. When the bowl is a bit full she tells Isaac to stop and he returns the bottles in his hand and that in Whitney's, then closes the fridge).

Jennifer: Do you know where Anna is?

Titi: She is in Tomike's room, sleeping I think.

(They all turnaround and leave the kitchen. Ene and Titi look at each other).

Ene: Wetin they dey plan?

Titi: How we go take know. (She then knocks on the window and Kunle and Chuks raise their head up and stretch into the kictchen).

Chuks: Wetin they...

(He stops mid-sentence as they all turn their attention and look at the door as it opens again and Whitney runs in and heads for the fridge and brings out three more bottles and runs back out).

Chuks: Wetin they dey plan? (Titi and Ene hit the back of their palms on their palms)

Kunle: Anna oooo, abeg make I come inside see wetin won happen with my korokoro. (They leave the window and Titi and Ene clean their hands then do so too. The kids are shown as Isaac opens the door to Tomike's room slowly and quietly then they sneak in one after the other. They stand at the three sides of the bed then crawl onto it gently. Her face is covered with her blanket. Whitney hands them a bottle of water each and they open it then they mouth a countdown from 3-1 then they click their bottles together and pour the water on her and she shrieks. Immediately Jennifer picks the bowl of water, holds the bowl over her head then Isaac and Whitney put their hands on the bowl too and they pour the water on her immediately then get off from the bed laughing as she is shouting. They run out of the room laughing as they approach the stairs).

Jennifer: That serves her right. Next time she won't mess with us.

(They high-five as they are coming down the stairs only for them to look at the direction of the living room and see Ene, Titi, Kunle and Chuks looking at them. Then they see Anna who is looking at them with a big smile. They look at each other with shock and before they can say anything, Tomike comes out of the room and meets them).

Anna: Ahah Tomike why you dey sweat like this, you get bad dream ne?

(Tomike glares at Anna who is smiling and then the others start to laugh seriously. Tomike looks back at the kids then groans and leave. Anna looks at the kids and they look back at her angrily then she winks at them and smiles, then she turns around and left and the others left also still laughing as the kids stomped their feet's to their rooms and banged the door. The others are shown still laughing then they shake as they hear the doors bang. They pause for some seconds and continue laughing, then Anna is shown in her room as she closes the door she starts laughing. Claps her hands and continues laughing. She picks up a book from her bed and a pen then checks a line on the book which reads "Tomike". She starts dancing and continues to laugh).

Scene closes.
