The Nameless God is Not The Hero Of the Story: Max Charisma In Heaven

"This is where you stop, Talon! I am the greatest Demon Lord that this world has ever seen, and your strength is nothing in the face of my terrible might!" Roared the last Demon Lord.

I sighed, but it was finally going to be over.

I had spent my entire life putting every moment into mastering the sword and magic. I killed every evil demon that I could find because I was branded the Hero by the church when I was a small child.

That was over forty years ago, and I had made sure to wipe every one of the Demon kind from this world. The reason for this was a blessing given by a careless God that supposedly watched over his world.

Gaston was the God of the Two-Handed Viper Snake, but he had been nearly useless besides the Blessing. He had always tried to get me to interact with people and go celebrate, but I didn't get tired.

All I had ever wanted was just to be done with all of this and settle down. I told myself that I would find a good girl and relax for the rest of my days, and that's what kept me going every day.

Now, I had finally reached the pinnacle of all my hard work, and the final Demon Lord, Keshoc, was before me. When I had last touched the Gods Tear, Gaston had told me that this was the final one.

The annoying good had been begging me to go out and live a little before killing the Demon Lord, but I could do that after. He told me that it was more important than killing Keshoc, but Gaston was always trying to divert me from my goal.

"Where are the rest of your friends?" I asked, and the Demon Lord laughed at me.

"Friends? Isn't that rich coming from someone that doesn't even know what the word means! Thanks to your endless hunting, I am the only one left of my kind!" Keshoc roared, raising a hand to cast Meteor, but I reversed the spell and countered it before he could finish.

"You know, this could have all been done sooner, but I swear my damn God is in cahoots with you! Always trying to distract me from finally being able to relax!" I growled, raising my sword, Heavenly Judgment, the strongest sword ever made.

"Ha! Peace! You really have no idea, do you? Come at me, Hero then, with your full might! Nothing short of that will stop me!" Keshoc roared dramatically, and I groaned, but it was almost all over.

"Not a problem!" I said and pumped the Seven Heavenly Seals into the blade, blasting a hole in the castle.

I had to spend two years in a desert just to find this stupid spell! It had been hidden in the far-off tomb of Gishlack.

I brought the sword down, but the Demon Lord was smiling even as Keshoc was being torn apart. Something about that smile made me feel uneasy, and I stayed on guard even after the body was split in two and fell apart.

I stretched my senses to their limits, but there was still nothing that I could find. The Demon Lord might have been like me, and he was just waiting to be defeated.

Regardless, it was all over now, and I sat down on the ground. Keshoc wasn't wrong when he said that he didn't really know what a friend was because he had never had one.

Maybe now was his chance to meet people? He should be well known now, and even though he hadn't really helped, he had done what no one else could do.

"Well, I guess I can go back to town and let everyone know that the Demon threat is now over forever. Still, I can't get that bastard's smile out of my face," I said to myself as I started to get back up, but then something happened.

I got up, but my body stayed sitting on the ground, then fell over. I bent over myself, freaking out, but from what I could see, the body had stopped breathing.

What in Heaven's name was going on here?

"Well, this is the part where I am supposed to congratulate you on a job well done," Gaston's voice said from beside me, and I turned to look at the burly beard black haired God I had come to despise.

"What is going on?! When am I not in my body?!" I roared, but Gaston shook his head.

"You are ascending to Heaven for your great work of ridding the world of the Demons," Gaston said in a glum voice that I wasn't used to.

"No! That was not part of the deal! I did what you asked, and now I want an easy life!" I yelled, and Gaston sighed.

"I tried to tell you, but you ignored me every time! You only did what you needed to do! You say that you were ridding the world of evil, but did you stop to help anyone along the way? Do you think that people are even going to remember you? You are nothing but a Nameless Hero to them all, and now you are to become a Nameless God. Look, Talon, I wanted this to be a great surprise to you because Heaven is non-stop relaxing and ordering people around!" Gaston explained as we both lifted in the air.

I was crushed. Everything that I had just done had been for nothing!

"What now? I am going to Heaven, so I should be fine to just relax, right?" I asked hopefully, but Gaston shook his head.

"You will get no rest there. The other gods all think you are a joke and that you don't deserve to be here," Gaston explained.

"Guess what? Neither do I! I will just ignore them all!" I declared.

"Good luck, Nameless God. This is where we part ways, but just know that I can't do anything to help you now. You made this bed, and now you have to sleep in it," Gaston said, and suddenly, I was standing before pearly gates on a cloud with beams of light streaming through them.
