They had been chosen to participate in a simulated game of organized crime - the Mafia game. This was their only way out of the school - they had to prove their worthiness and survive the game in order to live.

Stardust and Puppets

Ingram, a 19 year old ex-military prodigy, resigns from the military after the war between his kingdom, Aramore, and the kingdom of the Ulcerates. The war, though hard-fought and eventually resulting in Aramore's triumph, was detrimental to the kingdom's former economic stability due to the large expenditure of resources exerted into several brutal battles following their infiltration of Ulcerate territory. The aftermath of the war perpetuates the tension between the civilians of Aramore and King Higgs along with the Council, a constitution consisting of renowned businessmen, war generals, sorcerers, and Elite Brigades, all collectively operating under the command of their king. Ingram, though he had chosen to be indifferent to the affairs of the kingdom, had found himself between a rock and a hard place as the Citizen Uprising, a revolutionary faction, begins growing exponentially in response to the kingdom's economic collapse, guided by resentment towards the actions of their military who had massacred and completely wiped out the Ulcerates from the face of the world. The conflict continues to brew between the Uprising and the Council of Aramore as the streets are flooded with criminals and the military fails to control the masses due to their significant increase in strength fueled by the schemes of the revolutionary faction. Should he join the military, whom he had sworn an oath in the name of their god, Higothos? Will he side with the Uprising and stand against the atrocious deeds of their kingdom's leaders? Or will he choose to escape the conflict entirely, given that the odds of survival were questionable for either side?

Into The Portal: Monster Invasion

Despair loomed over the globe. All resources were exhausted, and hope was all lost. When three-player chess that will decide the lives of billions of people was at its zenith, a portal appeared in the sky. Monsters, bigger than the biggest animal, harder than the hardest metal poured out of the abyss... Putting aside their differences, humanity united to fight against their common enemy. But the weapons were ineffective. The most powerful weapons of science could not do even the slightest bit of damage to monsters. While desperation reigned, science prevailed, and laser weapons were born. The first blood was spilled... The first monster was killed! However, it wasn't laser weapons that allowed humanity to win the war, but a piece of orb found in the monster's brain. When supplied with electricity, the orbs would turn into pre-determined objects. These orbs turned into weapons that could damage monsters, and the more monsters were killed, the more weapons were found. With the newly looted weapons and the determination of humanity to get rid of this disease, the monsters were pushed back. At that moment, a messenger flew from the portal in his radiant form. An Artificial Intelligence produced by the native race living in the Portal World... Called Mother AI by humans, this object used the miracles of the alien world to help humanity close the portal. With these miracles, humans awakened superpowers to fight against monsters. An unfortunate teenager, Miles Cross, was born with dormant Ancient Genes and failed to awaken his superpower. Instead, he used every means to get stronger... Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, business, events and incidents are the products of the author’s imagination. Jungle Juice: Bug God

I was sitting on a desk at the back of the class when the protagonist came to the group talking about human bugs and took one of their phones. Too far away to hear what he was saying, but of course I already knew. Jungle Juice was popular, after all. I shifted on my seat. My bottom was getting cramps from the hard wooden surface. Seriously, installing cushioned seats couldn't hurt them, right? Whatever. I'll just put my legs on top of my desk. At least the change of position would relieve some of the stress on my buttock muscles. Hmm? Why don't I just get up and join the discussion with the protagonist, you ask? Well, for one thing, I felt too lazy to even get to my feet. Another thing, I don't want to join in the plot yet. I'll shadow the protagonist's progress from afar. No real reason, really, just a feeling. No one showed any reaction to my impoliteness. Not that I was hoping, but shouldn't there be a discipline committee? Oh, okay, truthfully, I was quite hoping to be scolded by a smart student. Preferably some new heroine of the story. Alas, there was no hint (or glint) of a four-eyed female class leader's glasses. And I was also thinking, did the students think of me as a delinquent? No one seemed to get close to me. I even once saw a small student with glasses circle the class to get to the door instead of passing by my desk, even though he was two seats beside me. Such horrors could only have come from this kind of school, where class delinquents and school thugs were common. Stereotypical. For Korean manhwa, that is.
