The sleepover

It all started with a sleepover. Yes, you read that right, a sleepover. I was at my best friend Amara's house and my mom didn't come to pick me up but first let's rewind a little.

The last day of school

Me and Amara had just finished 5th grade. It had been a crazy year but we both made it. After school, we both headed to Amara's house for the sleepover. By the way, I'm May, and I come from a family of 12 children and only one adult! I have no idea how my mom manages. Here's a full list:

There you go, that's my huge family. Mary drives us almost everywhere because our mom is always working. I think I forgot to mention this but she works at an indoor rock climbing area that is open 7:30am-6:00pm. That's all about my family for now, back to the story. Me and Amara were definitely not sleeping. We watched a movie, then we had a pillow fight, then we watched another movie. During the second movie, Amara's parents walked in and told us to turn off the TV and took the remote and our phones. Amara told me this would happen so I brought some books. We both agreed to read until we fell asleep and that's exactly what we did.
