Prologue

Finally! A change of scenery from her now almost empty home. In an instant, it went from a loving family of 8 to a devastated family of 4. She wondered why drugs had to come into the picture as she walked into her first day of fifth grade. All her friends showed up at her side. She wasnt popular, but she was one of those classmates that everyone could talk to. This year, she would be entering her second year at the second building of four in her small town's school district. She knew her way around because of last year, when her teachers asked her to take their papers to the other teacher's classrooms. She looked for her homeroom right at the top of the stairwell, walked in, and thats when something hit her. Literally. Her supportive best friend threw a ball of paper at her and they both laughed since they hadn't seen each other all summer. No, but really. Something did hit her, just not only in a physical way. She heard something wonderful and saw something so loveable. It was the laughter and smile of a classmate who she hadn't ever seen or talked to throughout her years of school before this. Her name was Shaley. His name was Grey. What would happen in the years to come? She figured she would just sit there and wait. She knew that they were both young and that these feelings that hit her so instantly would probably disappear in a couple years. Yeah. Probably.
