Night Visitor

"I knew it!"

Qian Lan stands up from her bed and grabs hold of the figures right wrist. Without hesitation she shouts out.

"I knew it was you Jiang!"

"....."

Unable to speak, Jiang couldn't bring himself to look at Qian Lan. Refusing to lessen her grip on Jiang's arm, Qian Lan was demanding for answers.

"Why are you crying? The one who should be crying is me! Imagine how I felt when I realized you abandoned me here!"

Speaking from under his breathe, Jiang stares into the tear-filled Qian Lan's face.

"I'm sorry Qian Lan....I'm sorry...."

Qian Lan slaps away Jiang's hand and angrily walks toward her window and stares into the rain as to force herself not to stare are the crying Jiang.

"If you're only here to apologize then go away. I knew it was you visiting every night while I slept and yet not once did you try to take me back. What do you even want from me now?"

Jiang walks to Qian Lan at the window and hugs her from behind. Catching her off guard Qian Lan remained still as if she was frozen in time.

"What.....what're you doing?"

"I'm sorry Qian Lan...I didn't mean to hurt you...I'm sorry. I only did what I thought was best for you....to make amends. "

With a confused look on her face, Qian Lan slowly removes Jiang's arms around her and turns around to stare into his face as the moonlight was their only light.

"What are you talking about Jiang? What amends?"

"I.....I know that you have the soul of Chenguang."

Qian Lan finally caught onto what Jiang was trying to do.

"Hah....so you thought it was right to abandon me, just because I have Chenguang soul? Let me remind you I am me, and she is herself. We are not the same person. I don't know what you were trying to do, but I'll tell you now that I am not Chenguang."

"I know you're not Chenguang, but I wronged Chenguang 200 years ago....and I..."

Qian Lan cuts off Jiang and walks to her bedside.

"And what? Chenguang made her choices then, what happened to her was not your fault. You doing this to me isn't going to appease your dead ex-wife."

"Qian Lan! I am not doing this just for Chenguang!"

Jiang runs to the table where Qian Lan sat and kneels before her as he holds onto her hands. Taken by surprise Qian Lan could only remain still and listen.

"I just want to give you choices to find a man you'll love....I failed to do that for Chenguang and in the end only caused her death...."

It finally hit Qian Lan that Jiang was trying to be considerate of her and her life choices. Unable to say goodbye properly he could only send her away to try and forget her.

"Hah.....you idiot god....the man I love is you."

Qian Lan spills out her feelings, unable to hide her tears she could only let Jiang see her in such a terrible state. Meanwhile, Jiang continues to be in shock to what he had just heard.

"Wha...what did you say Qian Lan?"

Embarrassed, Qian Lan gives Jiang a knuckle sandwich.

"You idiot god, I'm not saying it again!"

Blushing from ear to ear Qian Lan could feel herself burning up. Jiang smiles out in relief and quickly stands up and pulls Qian Lan up into an embrace.

"I love you too Qian Lan. I'm sorry....I'm sorry for everything."

Qian Lan and Jiang continue to remain in an embrace as they both finally realize they had mutual feelings for one another. Suddenly realizing something, Qian Lan slowly pulls away from the water god.

"Hey! The rain stopped!"

"Yes....that's because I'm no longer sad."

Jiang smiles at Qian Lan and places a kiss on her forehead.

"So you're saying its been raining all week non-stop because you were sad?! If it was that bad you should've came back for me sooner! Sheesh!"

After what felt like forever Jiang finally lets go of Qian Lan.

"Qian Lan are you ready to head back?

"To the water god palace? Right now?!"

"Well, yes. There's no reason for you to stay here anymore."

Qian Lan Ponders for a moment and thinks to herself.

"Wait. I can't just yet. I have a few things to take care of. Give me three days."

"Why? Is something happening that I should know?"

"Er....well not much."

Qian Lan knew she still had to reject the king and say her final goodbyes as she had no intention of coming back this time around. Just then, Jiang notices the kings letter on Qian Lan's table and quickly unfolds the letter and glances at the letter.

Not even a minute later, Qian Lan could see Jiang's eyebrow scowl in anger.

"Who is this Ah Meng?! What banquet?!"

"Ah...well, he's the current human king?"

"What does he want with you?"

"I don't know, but I'll find out in three days."

"If you're going, I'm going too!"

"What?!"

Qian Lan couldn't believe what a jealous man Jiang was. Unable to deny Jiang, Qian Lan finally caved in after fifteen minutes.

"Alright! You can go, but you must find your own way in."

"Easy!"
