13 CHAPTER 13: I'M DISAPPOINTED IN YOU
1:30 AM
Rex dreams.
In his dream he sees himself in Xena, in a war front faced by soldiers consisting the merging of Xiria and Birgia. They can't get to him as a result of a barrier created by an invisible force field; he turns back and sees the five symbols representing the five countries of Xena. Then he hears a terrifying voice which uttered:
"THE LAST ALTRON"
It was so loud that everywhere shook and the ground opened swallowing everything on it leaving only him.
He opens his eyes.
AT SCHOOL THAT DAY
Just as the previous week, Olivia was ever glued to Rex following him to almost everywhere and even tried kissing him in the hallway.
REX: I need to visit the library.
OLIVIA: K, I'll leave you for a while then 'cause I can't go there with you, library sucks!
REX: Yeah, absolutely! (He leaves quickly)
OLIVIA: (Smirks) Silly!

Rex enters the library and it seems full to the brim with mainly students struggling with assignments. He sees an empty spot where Kim Eva sat with her brother Josh. He picks a random book and heads towards the empty spot.
KIM EVA: (Whispers) Hey, that's him,alone!
JOSH: Looks like he's coming towards us.
Rex reaches the seat and gently settles down.
KIM EVA: (ywhispers nervously) This is actually happening, I'm sitting close to him!
REX: (Looks at her)
KIM EVA: (Gasps)
REX: (Looks down and continues reading)
JOSH: There's something wierd about him,
KIM EVA: I know! He's cuter than you!
JOSH: I'm serious, he's reading upsidedown!
KIM EVA: (Looks at the upsidedown book) Ooohhh! Do you think I should tell him?
JOSH: If you wish!
KIM EVA: (Turns to Rex) Uhm...hey are you sure you're actually reading?
REX: Yes what?
KIM EVA: Er..... No offense but your book is upside down!
REX: I know that!
KIM EVA: Ow...k! (Looks at Josh)
JOSH: (Gives her the "go ahead" look)
KIM EVA: (Gives him the"what do I say look")
JOSH: Pouts and raises a brow)
KIM EVA: (Nervous) I... I'm K-Kim Eva! B-but you can call me K-Kim!
REX: (Drops his book) You should put yourself together before speaking!
KIM EVA: Sh-sure! (Mouths inaudibly) Damn!
JOSH: I'm Josh and you?
REX: Rex! (Looks at what they are doing) Your assignment?
KIM EVA: Yep! It's k-kinda difficult...
REX: (Pats her shoulder) You should stop talking! Really!
JOSH: Are you done with yours?
REX: Yeah! Mind if I could assist you with the assignment?
KIM EVA: Sh... (Rex looks at her and she immediately covers her mouth) Sorry!
JOSH: You are welcome to assist!
Rex picks up a pen and the work sheet they've been using
KIM EVA: (Whispers to Rex) Em... Sorry I tend to get thirty seconds nervousness around cute boys.
REX: Cool!
He begins to solve the questions leaving Josh and Kim mouths agape...
REX: This is it!
Kim and Josh were still in a speechless state.
REX: Hey! (Waves at their faces but they didn't blink) What's wrong with you people?
JOSH: (Blinks twice) Alright what just happened now?
REX: (Looking around) What happened?
JOSH: I mean you?
REX: What did I do?
KIM EVA: (Squints) He keeps getting wierd!
REX: Alright I'm confused but you better write it's already three minutes to the time for Calculus class.
KIM & JOSH: (Unanimously) Three what??
Everyone turns to look at the three of them.
LIBRARIAN: (Walks towards them)
KIM EVA: Oh no!
JOSH: This doesn't look good!

The library's door is slammed behind them.
KIM: Alright what do we do now?
REX: You just have a minute thirty seconds left.
KIM EVA: Oh, shit!
JOSH: What?
KIM EVA: We left the work sheet inside!
JOSH: There's no way we making it that class without our assignments.
KIM EVA: Maybe we can? (Looks at Rex and smiles shippishly)
REX: Why are you looking at me that way?
Before he could understand what Kim Eva meant by her statement and smile she had already given him her book and Josh's.

BELL RINGS!
REX: (hands over the books to them)
KIM EVA: Done?
REX: Yeah!
CALCULUS CLASS
MR KIRBY: I gave an assignment that is to be submitted in today's class, can I have them now? (Only few people submitted their books including Jax, Rex, Josh and Kim Eva. Mr Kirby counts them and is shocked). Can someone explain what's happening here? In a class of a hundred and fifty I'm seeing only twenty books.
(He scans the big class like he was looking for someone in particular). Is Sylvia Wilson in class today?
SYLVIA: (Tensed) Y-yes sir!
MR KIRBY: Raise your hand! (She raises her hand) I didn't see your note here why?
SYLVIA: (Stands up) I didn't do it sir!
MR KIRBY: Why?
SYLVIA: I couldn't do it s...
MR KIRBY: That's not an excuse! Come out here! (She hesitates) We don't have time Young lady.
She walks up to the podium and takes a maker
JAX: (Whispers to Rex) I don't think she has an idea of what to do.
REX: I should help her out! (Stands up) I'll do it sir!
MR KIRBY: (Looks at him) Come forward and assist her.
REX moves quickly up to the podium and stood by Sylvia.
REX: (Whispers) Hi!
SYLVIA: Hey!
REX: You don't have an idea of what to do do you?
SYLVIA: Not at all!
REX: Give me the marker!
SYLVIA: No! Why?
REX: 'Cause you don't know what to do!
SYLVIA: What makes you think so?
REX: You just said you don't have an idea of what to do!
MR KIRBY: I'm waiting!
SYLVIA: Fine! (Gives him the marker)
Kim Eva sets a stop watch on her wrist watch...
KIM EVA: Here he go again! (Smirks)
He takes the marker does a brief breathing exercise and begins to write.
AT EXACTLY 45 SECONDS LATER
REX: (Covers the marker) Done!
KIM EVA: (Looks at her watch and is even shocked) He gets even faster every time he solves the question.
JOSH: Yeah! Like he's not even thinking for a second before writing.
There was an awkward silence in the whole class as everyone stared at him. He filled the board in less than a minute! Even Mr Kirby was speechless they only looked at him. He came close to the board to observe what was written on the board with his glasses in place, he looked at Rex and then Sylvia before turning to the class and finally back to the board.
Kim Eva began clapping and the rest of the class joined including Mr Kirby.
After the loud applause died off Mr Kirby spoke.
MR KIRBY: That was Awesome! Totally incredible!
REX: Thank you sir!
MR KIRBY: And to you Sylvia, I must say, I'm highly disappointed in you. For not even making any attempt!
Rex looks at Olivia and then Sylvia. Sylvia escapes his stare while Olivia is visibly angry.
AFTER THE CLASS
AT THE HALLWAY
OLIVIA: You didn't tell me you knew that assignment?
REX: You never asked me either!
OLIVIA: You should have asked me!
REX: When you showed no interest?
OLIVIA: Alright fine. Another thing, you didn't sit with me today!
REX: It's not a culture, and would you stop holding me like this?
OLIVIA: Why?
REX: 'Cause people will think we...
OLIVIA: (Cuts in) ...are dating?
REX: Whatever you call it!
OLIVIA: But we are?
REX: No! I can't remember that happening or even see that happening later on, besides we just met a week ago.
OLIVIA: It's no big deal?
REX: Uhm... Regardless of what you think, I should leave now.
OLIVIA: Rex! Where're you going? Rex back here! (She screams as she gradually draws attention to herself some people laughed while the juniors felt a bit scared at the noise)
