Chapter 14: Recapturing Greenland (Last)

"K-KING!!!"

A demon wearing a full mithril armor shouted as he ran towards the main tent in the middle of the camp with a look of urgency on his face. Making the 5 meter tall demon sitting down behind a desk frown in response.

"WHAT!? I told you not to disturb me this afternoon!"

"B-But we have horrible news, my King"

The demon said as he kneeled in front of his King with a pale complexion on his face. Making the King snort in response.

"What news would be so urgent? Did the other camps succeed in completely capturing this place?"

He said causing the demon to shake his head to the side with a frown on his face.

"N-No, t-the camps failed my King. A-All Archdukes and Duke camps have been devastated by a full-blown attack from the alliance! W-We need to escape now!"

The demon said causing the King to frown before sarcastically laughing in his direction.

"Pfft- Why do we need to run? We have the most elite soldiers in this camp. We won't fall down that easily"

He said in a sarcastic tone. Making the demon sweat before looking up to his King with a serious expression on his face.

"B-But the alliance is not holding back anymore my King! T-They're using everything on-"

He explained before a massive earthquake occurred outside of the tent. Making the demon panic before hurriedly convincing his King to leave.

"What are you so worried about? Those puny humans won't be enough to take me down"

He said before standing up from his seat and walking out of the tent to see the situation outside the camp. All while being stopped by the demon who had a pale complexion. Desperately trying his best to convince him to leave.

"Let's see..."

He said as he pushed the cloth covering the entrance of the tent but immediately froze as he saw what was happening outside.

"P-Protect the King!! Soldiers hurry up-"

A demon clad in mithril armor said before a large barrage of fist-size bombs bombarded them at all sides. Killing the light infantry close the castle as flames raged on the tents on the border of the camps. 

Complete chaos spread through the entire camp that the king took pride in. Seeing his soldiers try to push back a large number of Valkyries and warriors from the alliance. While the gunners from behind the large army took care of the Gastreas that were trying to flank them from behind.

"W-What's going on!? What happened to my archdukes!!!"

The King shouted in anger as another barrage of explosions occurred in the middle of his own army. Massacring many of his shoulders while a rain of bullets killed many of his soldiers that were trying to counter-attack.

"T-They all died, my King"

The demon nervously said, causing the King to show a furious expression on his face as he grabbed him by the gap on the collar of his armor.

"How can they die like that!? It was only 2 days ago that those putrid humans attacked the Marquis camp! How can they easily kill the Archduke camps that fast!!"

He shouted while shaking the demon in his arm with a distorted expression on his face.

"T-They were holding back at that time, b-but they started attacking with everything they got without minding their supplies. I-I think that they received reinforcements from outside the country"

He said before hesitating to say his next words.

"What is it!? Tell me!!"

He shouted, causing the demon to gulp before looking at him with a serious expression on his face.

"T-The other camps were overthrown by our own soldiers... T-They started a revolt and helped the alliance's army to easily infiltrate the bases... T-That's why many of our camps quickly fell"

"WHAT!?"

He shouted in shock before looking back at the alliance's army, noticing how there were a large number of demon soldiers fighting alongside them on the frontlines. Making the King's anger increase before throwing the soldier in his hand to the side.

"T-Those insects!!! I'm going to kill them all!!!!!"

He shouted as he summoned a gigantic one-handed sword that was bigger than his own body in his right hand. Preparing to join the battle.

"Tell the Emperor to send reinforcements!! I'll deal with this shits until they arrive"

He said before preparing to jump into the battlefield but was stopped as a giant two-handed axe was thrown in his direction. Making him shift his body to the side to dodge it before receiving a powerful punch at his face. Sending him flying inside the tent.

"W-Who dares!?"

"I dare"

The man who charged at him said, causing the king to frown as he quickly removed the tent that was covering his eyes. Making him see Lucias slit the throat of the demon soldier from before with a jet-black sword in his hand.

"No need to join them, since I'll be your opponent"

He said. Making the king look at the figure in front of him in surprise, before pure rage started to take over his body as soon as he recognized him.

"LUCIAS FREY!!!"

The king shouted causing Lucias to smile before stabbing the sword in his hand in the demon's body before hellfire burned it to ashes. Making the king breathe heavily as he tried to stand up from the ground.

"This is... the first time that I'll be fighting a king myself. Since most of my opponents are Archdukes from your dimension"

He said as he pulled his sword out of the demon's body. Wiping the blood off his sword with his gloves before pointing it at the king, that was wheezing in anger in front of him.

"It's all because of you... I'm going to fucking kill you!"

He shouted as he charged towards Lucias, swinging his sword down at him with a vicious expression on his face.

"[Unseal: 5 layers]"

He said, causing 5 of his 9 rings to crumble as immense pressure erupted from his body. Making the king falter before getting punched by Lucias on his stomach. Making him spit out blood as he felt his own internal organs get mushed by the force of his attack. Sending him flying before landing a few meters away, on the ground.

"Ack-"

He growled in pain before Lucias suddenly landed on his face at full force. Destroying the land below them as a massive crater appeared on the ground. 

"Don't disappoint me"

Lucias said before grabbing him by his leg and lifting him up in the air. Smashing him to the ground once more. Creating a large crack on the ground below them due to the massive force put on his attack.

"Tch"

The king clicked his tongue before severing his own legs to escape from Lucias' grip. Making his body fall on the ground while his wounds quickly regenerated. Looking at Lucias with a cautious expression on his face.

"Hmn... You're a bit stronger than the apostles that I killed a few years ago"

"So that wasn't a rumor, huh?"

The king muttered as his anger slowly disappeared from his mind. Clearing out his mind as his attention was focused on Lucias.

"A rumor? Your true gods witnessed it years ago... but it looks... they didn't tell you at all. It would affect your morale after all if you see how I played with them"

He said before lifting his sword up in the air and parrying the incoming attack. Making his gigantic sword slide off the blade of his own before quickly slicing off the arm of the king. Making him step back to create some distance between them.

"It's a bit rude for you to attack while I'm talking"

He said as he watched the king try to regenerate his severed limb, but to his surprise his wounds didn't regenerate as he expected, causing him to bleed while holding his arm. Looking at Lucias with a pale expression on his face.

"W-Why can't I-"

"Regenerate? I already built some measure to make sure that you cockroaches wouldn't live after suffering a mortal wound. Why do you think we capture some of your soldiers alive? To imprison them? Don't make me laugh, we captured them to experiment on them"

He said as he walked towards the King with a large smile on his face. 

"... So that we can develop ammunition and weapons that could counter your pesky regeneration... and it took us 4 years until we can finally implement them in the battlefield..."

He said before sending a kick towards his chin. Breaking his jawbone before he quickly performed an axe kick aimed at the back of his head before he was even proppeled into the air. 

"I suggest that you surrender now, to save yourself from dying a painful death"

He said causing the king to grit his teeth in response. Making Lucias sigh before slicing off his other arm with his sword, causing the king to growl in pain as Lucias stomped on his head to make him shut up.

"Let's go ahead and watch the show while you consider surrendering. I'm sure that you'll love it"

He said before stabbing his right foot with his sword. To ensure that he won't escape. Grabbing his head and pulling him towards the camp.

Placing him down on the ground with his head forcefully locked in place by Lucias. Making him watch as his soldiers were slaughtered by the army of the alliance. Devouring the place with screams and the sound of explosion and fire.

"You fucking monster"

The king muttered causing Lucias to smile in response before stabbing his other leg. Making him grit his teeth in pain.

"Thanks for the compliment. I'm glad I'm seen as a monster by a creature like you"

He said as a demon soldier runs towards them without his weapon like he was trying to escape but was quickly killed by a large hammer from a Valkyrie. Smashing his head to smithereens as his blood splattered on the king's face.

"Don't worry... I'll make sure that the others join as well... in the realm of death"

He whispered to his ear as they watched the last demon get killed by Lucias' army. Completely wiping out all of the demons in the area as Lucias threw a cube towards Yoshino's direction.

"Close the dimensional rift... then we can finally go home"

He said, causing Yoshino to nod her head before obediently walking towards the dimensional rift close to the King's camp. Throwing the cube in the air before it stopped and floated in the middle of the rift.

"You've almost succeeded but... a few factors helped us in achieving victory... like the bad governance of the royal family back at your dimension. If it weren't for them, it would take days until we can finally attack your camp"

He said. Placing the blade of his sword at his neck. Making him close his eyes as he readied himself for his own death. Decapitating the demon in one swift motion before lifting the severed head up in the air. 

Making all of his soldiers cheer while raising their weapons up in the air with an ecstatic expression on his face. Marking one major step in driving them out of their dimension.

"You, come here"

Lucias said while pointing his sword at one of the demon soldiers who joined their side. Making him nervously sweat in response.

"Take all of the demonic soldiers in this place and bring them back to your dimension. Prepare everything, and inform your leaders that we are willing to give them our aid. Do it with the rest of your soldiers around the world"

He ordered, causing the demon to brighten before furiously nodding his head in response. Making the demon soldiers mixed in their army to cheer for having a powerful ally to help them in their revolution.

"I-I'll immediately contact them, Frey-sama"

"I'll open a rift for all of you connecting to your dimension. This rift will close within 5 days so gather your forces and return"

He said before throwing the severed head to the side before stabbing his sword to the ground.

"Let's go back"

He said with a smile on his face. Making the soldiers all shout as the weight that was placed on their shoulders were slightly elevated, causing some of them to cheer as all of the stress that they experienced for the last few days were relieved. While some human soldiers kneeled down on the stop. Crying tears of joy as they finally freed their country from the invaders.

"Let's celebrate this victory!!"

The general of the Greenland army shouted while Lucias silently walked towards his servants and fiancee. Ignoring the noisy cheers of the soldiers around him.

"Let's go home"
