Chapter 23

Richard's POV

What in the world did she just say?

How did Annabelle get to find out about my true origin? Who told her?

"Cat got your tongue," she muttered

"What do you mean, Annabelle?" I inquired with a slight chuckle.

"Richard, please stop playing dumb," she yelled before pulling her beautiful hair. I never told her anything so how does she know the entire story.

"Annabelle I don't know what you are talking about." I blurted.

She laughed a bit before rolling her eyes. "Victoria told me everything so there is no need to pretend you do not know about what I'm saying."

"I don't know what you are talking about," I mumbled.

"Oh, really?"

"Yeah."

"Give me a second." she requested. She dashed out of my room in a haste, shutting the door pretty hard.

'Damm it Victoria. Why did you tell Annabelle the truth?'

I don't want Annabelle to know the truth about me because I fear losing her. I don't want her to hate me or become scared of me and my capabilities.

Annabelle barged into the room. She looked annoyed and frustrated. She placed her left hand behind as she walked towards me.

'What could she be hiding now?'

"I hate lies so much Richard and I'm sure you know that but what surprises me is that you still denying." Annabelle cried out. "Are you trying to tell Victoria of all people will lie to me about your origin story? How is possible that the woman you see as your mother will be wrong?"

I chuckled slightly as I scratched my head. "Victoria is a funny person. She must have been trying to mess with your head."

"Oh, really?" she chuckled.

"Yeah."

She smirked before extending out her left hand. "So I'm sure you do not know what this is."

"How did you get that thing, Annabelle?" I inquired.

She chuckled. "This little ball of memories. I thought you didn't know about it, so what changed?"

"I ask again how did you get this?" I grumbled.

"Victoria gave it to me but since everything I was told was made up, then why would you care about this silly thing." she chuckled as her hands roamed around the ball.

"Annabelle, I don't want to lose it, so I advise you to give it back," I warned.

"No."

"Don't be a stubborn princess," I warned. "Give it to me."

"I said no." she snapped.

My demon was rising slowly, and it was getting hard to control it. My eye colour was changing from its normal colour to bloody red.

'Control Richard. You need to keep it under control.'

Victoria played with the ball for a while. She kept on trying to push me by pretending to drop it on the floor. With every attempt she made, I felt it rising.

"Annabelle, please don't push me," I growled.

"Or else what?" she challenged in a loud voice and believe me, that did it. I quickly cornered her to the wall. My bloody red eyes stared into her alluring blue eyes.

'What have you done, Richard?' a voice spoke into my head. 'Why did you have to let her see this side of you?'

"Annabelle... I'm s..... orr.." I started, but was caught short by her sweet laughter.

"I guess my plan worked." she mused.

"What?"

Annabelle smirked. "I wanted you to snap so that you cannot deny the truth."

"Are you mad?" I questioned.

"I don't know." she chuckled. "But seriously, why did you have to lie to me even when I already know the truth?"

I avoided her gaze and ran my hands through my hair. "I didn't want you to fear me."

"Give me a reason I should fear you?" she crossed her arms around her chest.

"I can give you a lot of reasons," I said. "I'm a half-demon, half-witch and also a Firce. My powers can go out of control if I don't manage my anger and so on."

"Okay, so these are reasons you think I will avoid you or fear you."

"Of course," I replied. "You saw my memories, right?"

"Yes."

"Which means by now you must be so terrified of me," I muttered before bowing my head low.

"To be honest, seeing your memories got me a bit terrified, not? But do you want to know something?" she said.

"Yeah, why not?"

"I'm not scared of you because I know within my heart that you are not evil." she smiled. "You love Firce way too much."

"I love Firce but princess please don't say that I'm not evil." I pleaded. "I'm evil to the core and if you think there's good in me, then you are mistaken." The only reason I have not yet destroyed anything or maybe help my fucked up father in his disgusting plans is because of Victoria.

"So you aren't scared of me or my capabilities?" I asked.

"No," she replied.

"Why? I mean, you saw what I did to that hideous monster, so how can you say you are not scared of me." I questioned.

"When I saw you killed creature fear gripped my heart. You could destroy such a creature at a young age, but I'm not scared of you," she said. "In fact, I want to know what you can do now?

I stared at the young girl in front of me. Does she hear what she is saying sometimes?

"I can do a lot of things like mind control and some other things," I said.

"Can you actually control minds?" she inquired.

"Yeah."

"Who have you tried it on?" she asked.

"Many people, and yes, it does work," I smirked.

Annabelle laughed. Then she took a few steps towards me. "Stop reading my mind."

"Can't help it, princess. I chuckled, and then I noticed we were close to each other. All I could think of was the way her soft lips will feel on mine, the feeling was awfully way to strong but there's no way I will do this.

"Richard." she muttered. Her smooth voice brought me back to reality. "What are you think about?"

"Nothing." I lied.

'I'm thinking of kissing you so hard so that I won't be able to think of anything expect of your lips.'

"Thanks for not hating me." I said, after wiping away the thoughts in my head.

"Your welcome." she smiled.

'Damm it Annabelle you are making this so hard for me.'
