Emergency meeting for the dark elves

After ending our conversation, the chief of the dark elf tribe sent someone to guide us around the village.

"This is the new farming area!"

"This is where we store our foods!"

"This is..."

Guiding us around is one of Lyndis's friends. She was one of the dark elves from earlier who aimed their weapon at us. Apparently, the dark elf tribe has 2 groups of warriors. One known as scouts and the other as guards.

Lyndis's friend is part of the second group who guards the village.

Just by listening in to their conversation, it seems like the guards really took a significant hit by the wyvern attack. Their numbers got cut down to one quarter with their captain losing his life.

The lady who dropped from the tree and confronted us earlier was the new replacement captain.

Judging by the looks of things, the tribe has a few hundred people in it.

Both of them are currently chatting and laughing away while walking in front of us.

From the looks of it, they must be really close.

"But I'm wondering, is it alright to show all this to us outsiders?"

So I say, causing the both of them to stop and turn around.

"There's nothing to worry about, the chief told me to treat you as honored guests."

The dark elf says while bowing.

Honored guests huh. I like the sound of that.

We've been taking our time to stroll around the area, the dark elf guide seems to be wanting to stall as much time as possible because of the ongoing meeting between the tribe leaders.

Well, I did give them a good offer, but I wonder if they'll have the guts to take it. Before we left, Zonn said something about the elders being insanely stubborn.

To quote him.

"Those old geezers are stubborn as hell so most likely they won't accept the offer. If they're not fine with it, I'll make them fine."

Zonn did seem pretty determined to learn demonic arts. I've never really taught a high rank auror demonic arts before so it'll be interesting to see the effects.

Upon entering the housing area of the village, a dark elf woman ran up to us wielding a knife.

"AHHHH! DIE YOU HUMANS!"

She charges straight towards Jargon who stood on my left. But before she could even hope to get close, our guide runs to the side.

Quick, fast and decisive. The woman gets apprehended.

High ranked knight. That's probably her aura stage at this point.

Interesting, so are all guards at least knight ranked?

Guaging a mage's rank is easy if they don't hide it. You just have to be focused on feeling out their mana capacity and density, from there you will be able to determine how far much their mana heart has opened thus allowing the mage's rank to be guaged.

But for aurors there is a huge difference. Since aurors don't have anything remotely smiliar to a mana heart, the way to determine their current stage is by sensing their lingering aura that is still on their body.

But this process is not accurate, if an auror has not utilized aura for quite some time, their lingering aura will slowly decrease, thus making them seem weaker than they actually are.

There are exceptions to this "lingering aura rule", but the better way to do it is simply by guaging it when aura is being gathered.

"LET ME GO! I MUST KILL THEM!"

The woman says while trying her best to break free.

[Thwack!]

Our guide delivers a hit to the neck and she passes out.

Cold, calm and profesional. I can see why they are called guards. Even against their own tribesman they are resiliant.

Or it is because we are "honored guests"?

Two men run towards the scene and drag her away into a house.

"Sorry for that minor inconvenience."

She says while walking towards us.

As we all look at the lady being dragged away, Lyndis suddenly speaks.

"That woman over there hates humans. Her son was kidnapped by slave traders a long time ago."

She let's out a sigh and turns towards me.

"I hope you don't take it to heart."

Says Lyndis while trying to hide her frown.

"Next up we will be heading to the guest house where all of you will be staying."

Our guide makes her way to the front again and gestures us to come along.

Looks like this short tour is coming to an end.

Oh right! Licuz said something about a vow and how they can't leave this forest? Does that mean something is tying them down?

That's no good. That probably means they wouldn't be willing to leave the forest even after I get rid of that wyvern for them.

"This is it."

Says the guide after opening the door.

"Then I shall leave you to it."

The guide bows her head, getting ready to leave with Lyndis.

I should probably ask about that promise thing.

"Does your tribe have a vow keeping all of you here?"

Her eyes opens wide upon hearing my question and her facial expression tenses up.

"How did you-"

"I'll explain it."

Lyndis cuts in with a determined look on her face.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Somewhere within the Parakirt tribe, a meeting is taking place with people sitting at a long rectangular wooden table.
[Slam!]
"Nonsense! Who is he to tell us what to do!"
An elderly looking dark elf with a silver sash bangs the table. He stands up, kicking his chair back in the process and making it fall over.
On the opposite side of the table, another person starts to speak.
"I agree with elder Kera, those humans are too suspicious, it would be better if we get rid of them."
Says a woman with a silver sash.
Both their comments made the others in the room whisper.
"HAHAHA!"
"Get rid of them? You must be insane! No one in our tribe, not even me would have the ability to touch even a hair on his body."
"We may have a silver of hope if everyone in the tribe sacrifices their life, but if that was the case we may as well just die to the wyvern."
A muscular man blurts out after laughing at the two elders.
"Are you suggesting he's as strong as the wyvern, captain of the scouts?"
The woman retaliates with a question while narrowing her eyebrows.
"As strong? HAHAHA!i"
The muscular man laughs once again and rests both his arms on the table.
"That man is not as strong as the wyvern, he's stronger than the wyvern."
The muscular man says with a huge smirk on his face. From his facial expression anyone could tell he was mocking the two elders.
"NONSENSE!"
The elderly man waves his arm horizontally to gesture his displeasure.
"That is a wyvern! A wyvern I tell you!"
"In the first place what the hell is demonic energy?! What is a demon?!"
"How can we be sure those humans aren't just planning to kidnap us!"
The elderly man slams the table again, this time using more force.
"Calm yourself elder Kera."
The man at the head of the table finally speaks.
"And sit down."
The elderly man fixates his gaze onto the man at the head of the table.
"Chief! This is very important! I don't think we shou-"
"Sit down. Elder Kera."
The man says with a chilling voice.
The man at the head of the table was none other than Licuz Para, the chief of the Parakirt tribe.
Currently, all 5 elders along with the two leaders of the scouts and guards are gathered to discuss the issue regarding the unknown humans who showed up at the tribe.
"Ahem."
"I'm sorry for my attitude, chief."
The elderly man picks up his chair and sits down in embarrassment.
"I didn't call for this meeting to plan how to get rid of them."
"I called for it because I intend to except their offer.
The man continues talking with a serious face. The chief knew he had to be firm and determined.
Unlike elves, who don't mind basking in the light and making relationships with humans, dark elves are a very secluded race, so it was natural for everyone to be on edge after listening to what he had to say.
The moment he finished speaking, everyone looked shocked. They had not expected their leader to make such a declaration.
"His powers...are unimaginable. At the very least, as Zonn said, he is stronger than the wyvern. Not just him, the two men he came with are probably as strong as the captain of the scout and guards."
As the chief said that, a drop of sweat could be seen running down his face.
"If he was really here to attack us, he would've done so. And he wouldn't have a problem annihilating us."
All the elders looked at one another, they knew their chief had seen the power of the human first hand, but they didn't think it was this much. For their chief, who was usually cold and calculative to be breaking a sweat just by remembering the display of power, it has to be greater than what they initially thought.
The elders had thought that maybe Zonn was exaggerating the encounter, but if even their chief describes the human's power are "unimaginable", then it must be the real deal.
All their faces suddenly turn pale.
If someone like that runs wild within our tribe what will happen to us?
Will we even be able to escape him if we wanted to?
Just how strong is he to be able to be stronger than a wyvern?
Thoughts like those kept crossing their minds and they looked at their leader's face.
Licuz lowered his head and crossed his arms on the table.
"The prophecy. He could be the one the prophecy spoke of."
