Full of Problems

There was the sound of fast footsteps in the hallway where not many people had passed, a beautiful girl was seen rushing into a room.

Seeing that her destination was in sight, the girl quickened her pace and immediately opened the closed door.

The girl breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that there was no lecturer at the front desk of her class. "Eleanore, you're late again." A voice came from behind the class.

Eleanore snorted softly as she realized that she was still late. Ignoring the delicacy sent by the lecturer who was standing not far from her, Eleanore walked towards the remaining empty seat.

Eleanore's arrival didn't bother the class too much. Without wasting any more time, the lecturer immediately restarted his class and started babbling about history.

Eleanore who didn't have much time to rest felt that her body was still tired and her sleepiness still lingered inside her. Thought that after college she still had to work in two places to support herself and pay her tuition fees.

Bracing herself, Eleanore tried to focus on the lessons in progress and not create any trouble again.

. . .

After struggling with her busy lecture schedule today, Eleanore rushed away from her campus to go to her part-time job.

"Hey, Lea! Are you leaving already?" called a woman from behind Eleanore who was about to rush off.

"Hi, Lizzie. You know I have to go now, bye!" Without further chit-chat with one of her best friends, Eleanore immediately moved her feet away from her campus.

Lizy just sighed when she saw her best friend leave in a hurry, she knew that Eleanore had to work hard to support her own life, after her parents died five years ago.

Eleanore ran down the sidewalk, several times she bumped into other pedestrians. Trust me Eleanore is currently chasing time so she won't be late for work again.

Fortunately, Lea works not far from her campus area. When she arrived at her workplace, Eleanore went straight through the door used by employees.

"Where have you been, Boss is already here. Get changed quickly, before he sees you," said Steven – one of Eleanore's co-workers – in a low voice, so that only Eleanore could hear him.

"Thank you," replied Eleanore as she hurriedly changed her clothes and walked forward to do her work.

While going forward, Eleanore tried her best to avoid the sight of her boss who had already arrived and was checking the kitchen with the other workers.

Wanting to cover up her tardiness, Eleanore knew that her boss already knew she was late. Lea can only wait until the restaurant closes and hear her boss scold her again.

As expected, after the restaurant where she worked closed, Eleanore was called to her boss's office. Eleanore could only feel helpless and walk limply.

"Lea, cheer up!" From afar, Steven encouraged Eleanore to which the girl replied with nod her head.

Eleanore knocked softly on her Boss office door, it didn't take long for her to receive an answer from inside. Eleanore immediately entered the room and stood up straight in front of her Boss who was looking at her seriously from the chair the man was sitting on.

"You know why I called you here?" The man asked in a very serious voice.

Eleanore looked straight at her Boss and replied, "Sorry I'm late again today, Boss."

"It's not just about your late. You know, when you serve customers, your face never smiles and always looks flat." The man rubbed his face tiredly while talking about Eleanore's matter.

"Not only that, many customers say that they are not happy to see you serve them. Not to mention, you always seem sleepy at work," continued the man explaining the problem that was inside Eleanore.

Hearing many criticisms against her, Eleanore couldn't refute it because that's what she did. She had tried to look friendly in front of the customers, but her exhausted body couldn't lie.

"I've tried my best to look friendly, sorry if I troubled you," replied Eleanore finally accepting the scolding her Boss threw at her.

"It was very hard for me to fire you because I know your condition. But, I have to fire you now to save the reputation of my restaurant," said the man finally telling the real reason why he had called Eleanore to his room.

Hearing that her boss was about to fire her, Eleanore held her breath in surprise, "Boss, can't you keep me working here?" asked Eleanore asking for one more chance.

"Forgive me." Having made up his mind to fire Eleanore, the Boss took out a thick envelope and handed it to Eleanore.

Eleanore's body shook as she saw an envelope thrust towards her, her eyes still looking expectantly at her Boss, but the man quickly avoided her gaze.

Feeling that she had no more chance, with trembling hands, Eleanor took the envelope and turned to leave.

"Thank you for everything, sir." After saying that, Eleanore immediately left the room.

When Eleanore came out, her friends in the kitchen immediately turned to her and looked at her with worried looks. "Why are you looking at me like that," said Eleanore rolled her eyes when she saw the reactions of her friends.

"Are you okay?" Steven who was closest to Eleanore stepped forward to approach the girl.

"Yes, of course." After answering Steven, Eleanore went to the locker area to get her things.

Not long after, Eleanore came out carrying all her things, "I'm going first guys!" she said at the same time saying goodbye to her friends who had helped her a lot at the restaurant.

The others just waved their hands to let Eleanore go, they knew that today Eleanore would be dismissed, their Boss had discussed the matter with them before.

Eleanore hugged her things as she walked slowly towards her house, she decided to take leave from another part time job.

As she walked Eleanore looked at the twilight sky above her, she really wanted to cry right now. Why does trouble always come to hit her like now.

However, all she could do right now was sigh and hope that tomorrow would be better for her. While walking towards her apartment which is on the outskirts of the city, Eleanore's eyes accidentally stare at the mountains behind the city.

"Looks like I need to take a walk over there," muttered Eleanore as she looked up at the mountains that are often referred to as the Shaded Hills.

The mountains were always shrouded in a light mist, many people refused to climb the mountains. But, not with Eleanore, the girl often climbed the mountains when she wasn't feeling well like what happened now or when she had free time.

And this time, Eleanore wanted to climb those mountains and spill all her worries over the Shaded Hills.
