Chapter 20

Scorch took the seeds and started to walk towards the garden but then stopped. "Maby I shouldn't grow them here" he said in a mournful tone.

"Why?" QuiverWing wonderd.

"This is not the garden I own" she never thought she would hear such a tone of hatred come from Scorch.

"Ok so how long would they last?" QuiverWing asked making a sweet tone.

"They can last up to 30 years" he answered with a long sigh.

"So what is needed done today?" she asked.

"Healing dragons and I think almost all the dragons here are gona have a cold, that's why I wanted to grow them early but this stupid excuse of a gradon killed them all" he snarled at the garden and headed to the herb station.

QuiverWing followed him and when he sat down she asked, "want to explain that?".

"Not really" his ghostly face scuffled his nose.

"Right but you look upset, do you want the day of and I'll take over" she offered, he thought for a moment.

"No I'm needed here and you're only an apprentice, no afence but there are gona be some things you haven't done before" he said sternly.

"Exactly, this will be needed for experience" she persuaded.

"I'm not convincing you otherwise, am I?" Scorch confessed.

"Well" she waited.

"Fine I'll take the day of but if you need anything I'll be around" Scorch went of to there sleeping chamber. QuiverWing went to the waking dragons, "so how are you feeling today?" she asked in a friendly tone.

"This slash stings" responded a cloud slasher, pointing at a slash on his side. QuiverWing gave him poppy petals and replaced the leaves and vine sheets.

She then did the same for the other dragons that were resting there and gave the acatinal dragon peppers for the cold. QuiverWing found it easy to take charge of the herb station, 'Scorch was worrying about nothing it's easy, just have to know what you're doing' she thought smiling. "QuiverWing can I have something else for the pain I think the poppy petals are not working?" asked a female cloud slasher.

"Yep one second" she grabbed the bugberrys and handed her two.

"Thanks" she said then ate them. 'This is easy to maintain, why was Scorch worrying so much?' QuiverWing thought feeling happy. "QuiverWing can you get me some peppers?" Wraths voice surprised her as she didn't expect it.

"Yeah, here" she gave him three.

"Thanks so I guess you're not gona be free any time soon" Wrath pointed to all the injured dragons.

"Nope I've got my claws full here" she then reorganise the herbs as they got messed up.

"Well when would you say you're next free?" he asked.

"I don't know, could be tomorrow or next moon" she shrugged.

"Well when you're free come visit me and we could go hunting" he offered.

"You like hunting?" QuiverWing asked.

"It's a specialty of mine, I love to hunt and I'm good and it I also love to hunt in a party, what about you?" he looked at her for an answer.

"I prefer to fish but I will hunt sheep if I'm in the mood" QuiverWing shrugged.

"Really so you're not all excited to hunt as much as I do" he looked a little disappointed.

"No, I'm not all of a hunter I'm more of a fisher" QuiverWing replied. She then continued to her duties, she heard Wraths claws scrape on the stones.

After the sun went past its peak QuiverWing realised that she was out of peppers and the garden doesn't have any. 'Scorch has the right to mad at it' she thought as she stared at the dieing plants. She grabbed the basket and first went to Scorch who was still in there sleeping chamber. "Scorch! Scorch!" she called.

"Yeah" he said in a tired tone as he woke up.

"I'm heading out to get peppers" she announced.

"Ok do you want me to handle things while you're gone?" he wasn't sassy or annoyed, he was just asking.

"Yes if you don't mind" she responded.

"Alright" he stretched. QuiverWing then left the cave flexing her scales, she saw the warm orange light of dusk.

QuiverWing wonderd around the rainforest failing to find peppers, but she kept hearing something behind her. "Looking for something?" a familiar voice spoke, a voice she felt hatred for.

"Frostbite, revil yourself!" QuiverWing hissed.

"Alright" he poked his snow wight skull out of the bushes. "Don't attack I just wish to talk" he added quickly.

"What do you want?" she hold her ground but did not strike.

"A truce, I know you want to fight me no matter what so why not call an agreement" he had a soft voice that she saw Scorch pull of.

"What's in it for me?" she squinted her eyes.

"Herbs" he pulled out a large basket of rare herbs. "I can see that you're finding it hard to get herbs lately so why not let me help and in return don't try to kill me" QuiverWing saw a look of hope in his eyes.

"Really that's all you want, surely your Queen wishes my death, it will ruin your name to her" she kept a harsh voice.

"Calm down, I'll be fine, I'm an undead sky keeper" he reinsured.

"I'm not worried about you, you're obviously planning something" she pointed out, 'what is he planning though?' she thought with a snarle.

"Planning something, QuiverWing, Scorch trust you so as he is the only kin I truly know I must try to trust" he hold his claw to were his heart was supposed to be. "Try to trust me" his voice sounded desperate. QuiverWing thought for a moment.

"Wait, how did you know that we were struggling to get herbs, from what you can see here I could just be looking for extra seed?" she questioned.

"I know Scorch and I know that he would already have the extra seeds" he mentioned.

"Fair enough" she raised her head up.

"Well do you accept?" he looked hopeful again. She thought for a moment, 'he can't be lying, could he? he wasn't the one who killed my kind and kin'. "Fine but if you go back on your word or hurt anyone I care about I will kill you" she relaxed a little.

"Sounds good" he handed her the large basket of herbs and at the last second he pulled her closer.

"I'm sorry but my Queen is more important to me" he whispered and she felt about 100 stings in her neck and side and she passed out.
