Pearl Spaceyard

America's premier stationary construct, Pearl Spaceyard. It hold's 1.3 million Naval Personnel and 6.4 Million Civilians. 8.9 Million Naval Personnel estimated to transit through the Spaceyard every year.

Oswald Falvax had just stepped off the shuttle and walking towards where he was given directory to. He had landed stepped on Pearl thousand's of times in his career as a Naval Officer, but still could never grasp the feeling of such a massive space construct. It was larger than any ship in the fleet, and was the size of a small city.

As a Commander he had a larger status on the station, allowing him to go through the less crowded hallways and the speedy transport system, which is quite the perk for getting around. After about 30 minutes of traversing transport systems and hallway's of Pearl.

Reaching his destination, it's a much larger hanger then the one he had previously arrived on, holding a small Corvette Transport ship. That was curious, the Corvette didn't look like it had a cannon on it, and was the exact model design of a Transport.

Oswald went up to one of the Seamen who was looking over some data. "Seaman, why's there a Transport Corvette here" The Seamen looked up and saluted Oswald, though Oswald waved him off.

"Sir, the Transport has been designated to transport you and it's other passenger's to an undisclosed location, which I am not cleared to know where" The Seaman responded to the Commander.

"Thank you, Seaman" Commander Oswald walked up to the docking platform and went through the process of checking his identification. This ship was beginning to seem more and more secure, and he may understand why the head of Naval Research contacted him about this. He boarded the ship and began to go to his cabin.

"Excuse me Sir, but are you Commander Falvax?" A woman had asked from behind Oswald. He turned around to see a woman younger then himself, probably young thirties. She had a slightly longer then shoulder cut hair, a slight tan and had green eyes. She also had a small symbol beside her left eye, a greenish yellow symbol. One of the regional based traditions of New Dallas, a less developed planet territory. They were generally a bit more willful and straightforward, and according to her rank she was a Lieutenant Commander.

"Yes Lieutenant Commander, I am Commander Oswald Falvax. And who are you, Pumbaton? He had found her name by her nametag, which he had learned quite well to take advantage of when he was a simple Ensign.

"I am Lieutenant Commander Helen Pumbaton, I've been assigned as the Executive Officer aboard the Hathcock, which mean's I'm your Executive Commander, and your my Captain. A pleasure to serve under you, Sir"

Sometimes Oswald wish he wasn't well known as a the man guy who almost got the Navy Cross. He didn't much care for medal's personally himself, though being a participant of the Ethiopian Skirmish, and commanding the ship that destroyed the French Task Force Flagship was a fairly big deal. Ethiopians did give him the highest foreign medal possible, which he was allowed to wear.

"When do we leave port, Pumbaton? Oswald asked before he left.

"We leave in 3 hours, Sir" Pumbaton responded with

"Alright. Let's go meet the rest of the passengers."

During the Meet the rest of the crew, he met his Head Engineer and Chef, one better then the other clearly. He also met the head Doctor, a gentlemen older then himself, though clearly yet to be too old, as he seemed quite energetic and alive compared to some of the other crew here. He met some of the technician's and cannon engineer's, who would be working on the new military technology that was developed for this ship, and quite spinned on. Media didn't know about it though, eventually they will.

"Alright everyone. We will begin our exit procedures and begin our transit to Arcturus Station, where you will find your new assignment and home. Food and drink is supplied, and refrain from distracting the pilot's and ship's worker's, we don't know much more then you do"

Second Chapter of the book. I tried to make it a bit less informationy, and add a bit more interaction.
