CHAPTER 19: THE ANNOYING VISITORS

The Annoying Visitors

Later in the afternoon, Richmond woke up from his slumber, his stomach rumbling with hunger but he was smiling as the memory of last night played on his mind, the sweet scent of the captivating woman clouded his senses, his hand instinctively searching for the woman.

Her side was the bed was already cool, showing she had been gone for a while now.

The smile on his face soured, and he pursed his lips, a frown appearing on his forehead, "she shouldn't have left, she should have waited, I would have given her a ride back home," he said aloud.

"And do what? It's not like something meaningful will come out from it, we are cursed and we can't help it, it is better like this," his wolf said suddenly, bittered.

Richmond was taken aback, he wasn't expecting his wolf to talk, his wolf had always been a silent one that only talked on rare occasions.

It looked like he wasn't the only one unhappy about the woman's absence even his wolf felt it, he could almost taste the disappointment, his wolf emitted.

But his wolf was right, there was nothing good waiting for them, Richmond could sense the feeling of anger that was rising from inside, he was getting angry and frustrated at the situation he and his wolf were in but he quickly squashed it down.

He sighed resignedly before striding to the restroom to take care of some personal business.

He came out from the restroom, a towel was wrapped around his waist, his chest bare and his hair wet as water dripped from his body, falling to the ground as he walked.

His mind was flashing to the previous night, showing him in detail everything that happened.

He tried ignoring it, he wore his clothes but her scent was everywhere, making it harder for him to concentrate.

He walked out of the room with his head raised high but his mind was troubled.

His wolf was becoming restless, it wouldn't be long before it turned violent, it was already on edge.

"Mr. Ashvery, good morning, hope you enjoyed your stay at our hotel. The receptionist politely asked, a bright smile on her face but he ignored her.

Not that he purposely ignored but his wolf was lashing out, the memories were tormenting them both, the more he tried to shut them out, the more they resurfaced, it was all that lady's fault, he thought.

The receptionist felt bad for being ignored, but she did not allow his lack of reply to affect her after all it was her job to smile regardless of the customer's willingness.

He walked out of the hotel, entered his car, and drove away.

He drove into the mansion, with speed, he quickly came down from the car, heading to the gym to unwind.

The female servants that were passing by greeted him but he was too tensed to reply, he wasn't feeling too good.

He needed an outlet to channel the tension from his body, his hands were eager to hit the punch bag.

He could hear the voice of someone talking to his father in the study, it appeared his father had visitors in the house, he kept on moving, not minding much about it.

He paused in his steps when he heard the voice of his uncle and his son mentioning his name, he curled his hands in distaste.

He hissed, "These serpents, what are they doing here?" He said, his voice laced with displeasure.

"We came to sympathize with you as soon as we heard the news of your son's curse," Nathan said.

He was the eldest brother of Noah, Richmond's father. He was supposed to be the Alpha of the Creek land wolves but he was denied because of his cruelty, Their father saw the violence and evilness in his heart and knew that if he died, his son would mishandle the pack, he gave it to his younger son who was braver and smarter, the older brother didn't want to be governed by his younger brother, he left to form his pack, the Red Lands wolves.

Noah stilled, and a pen suddenly fell on the ground

He picked up a pen that fell, giving him ample time to compose his reaction, "I don't know what you mean by that but my son isn't cursed?" Noah said sternly.

Nathan loved getting on his brother's nerves, "I know you are a proud Alpha but don't deny it, Noah, Alphas are not meant to lie," Nathan said, trying to poke his brother.

Griffin, Nathan's son wanted to speak but he couldn't without first consulting the two Alphas in the room as it was the custom, "If I may speak freely father, Alpha," Nathan rapidly nodded his head to his son's request but Noah gave him an icing look, fear gripped his heart but he knew Alpha Noah wasn't going to harm him or kill him when he was only speaking his mind.

Griffin faced the Alpha but his eyes were lowered, he couldn't look his uncle in the eyes, "Not to be disrespectful Alpha, the news has been circulating for a while now, I heard it from my friends as we were discussing," he paused, raising his head to look at the Alpha but he wasn't showing any emotion, his face was as tough as gravel to him.

"Go on, speak your mind, son," his father urged.

"I am not trying to brag," Griffin started talking, his chest puffed with pride When I turned eighteen; I found my mate, Leila, now we are blessed with three pups likewise every other wolf, but Richmond is already twenty-nine, even older than me and he is yet to find a mate, that only has helped to fuel the rumors that already spreading, it is a cause for alarm, don't you agree with me Alpha?" he asked slyly, expecting the Alpha to show anger or sadness but the Alpha's face remained plain.

Noah was irritated with his visitors.

Noah could smell the pretense from his brother and his son, they were not here to sympathize with him, they were here to mock him and he couldn't permit the act any longer.

"So what you mean is that my son is impotent? Noah said suddenly, trying to confuse them and it worked, Griffin was already confused, "I don't mean impotent, what I mean is...

Silence! Noah bellowed.
