The man stood there pondering for a minute before he finally spoke again.

"It doesn't matter. You 'warriors' are all the same."

The younger version of the heavenly demon twirled his spear and pointed it at me.

"Come on then."

I unsheathed Excalibur and activated my light aura, a gleaming, blinding light emerged from my sword as I removed it from its sheath. The heavenly demon stood there for a second before smiling.

"I see…"

I smiled and burst forward, and I swung my sword in a radiant arc of light.

He dodged it and he threw his spear at me, all the light from my sword disappearing into the spear like some kind of black hole. I quickly dodged to the side as the spear thrusted into the wall.

[Objective updated {Defeat the Lesser Remnant of the Eraser of Light}]

What?

It became a remnant? Even a lesser version?

"How did you become a remnant?"

The remnant smiled "It really wasn't that hard. You should try it some time."

The spear lunged back to his hand, swiping a mark across my face. The blood dripped down my face as I sighed. I'll have to be a bit faster this time.

Black and white lightning gathered beneath my feet as I burst forward again with an explosive burst of black fire. I slashed across the air faster with Excalibur, before he retaliated with his spear, I used his spear as a platform and burst into the air before slashing to the ground with an explosive impact.

The spear was covering my vision was once again, I was completely stopped by the spear. The heavenly demon stared at me, it was a blank stare. He wasn't intimidated by me. He had a curious look.

"What are you?"

"…what?"

The heavenly demon was caught off guard, I quickly slashed again, only to be blocked again, a consecutive strike, a consecutive deflection, each time he flew my sword back I flew my sword forward harder. And then back and forth constantly, the sparks filled my vision. Something caught my eye, in the corner I saw a part of the wall covering in ice. I quickly took a long dash back and watched as the part of the wall broke and the protagonist flew forward.

I smiled. I grabbed Excalibur and flung it towards him. Nolan Break, without even looking, spread his arm out and caught my sword. The sheen of the sword gleaming through the air as he brought it down upon the Heavenly Demon.

"Finally, it's you, Regressor! I've been waiting!"

My hands crackled as I infused my fists with void lightning. Nolan Break in the front, me in the back, we both collided with the heavenly demon, my fist, his sword. We swapped positions, him in the back, me in the front and struck again. The heavenly demon was overwhelmed as we constantly struck him and swapped positions.

(Nolan Break's POV)

To get a quick start on the philosophers stone, I need to kill this version of the heavenly demon. It's the easiest way to get a lightless core currently. And with the help of this guy, maybe I can pull it off. The heavenly demon seemed to be having a fit, he swung his spear towards me, which I dodged, it skid against the floor, with a split second of an opportunity, I thrusted Excalibur forward, that guy seemed to not be paying attention. Excalibur struck the heavenly demon, exposing a way to his core.

How this man that was standing with me managed to obtain this sword. Was beyond me. Even if he somehow blew a hole into the tomb from above. He needed to know all the specifics of the rite needed to gain the purity to pick up the sword. Plus, he seems to know what moves I'm doing. Even though I've never met him in my life. He's certainly interesting. I'll have to keep my eyes on him.

I drove Excalibur into the lightless core. Yet something I didn't expect happen. The sword was getting dragged into the core along with me, his core was like a black hole. I pulled the sword and tossed it to the guy. He quickly dashed forward, and in a burst of lightning, he was all the way on the other side of the room. And the heavenly demons body started to crumble.

"I-Impossible…"

I looked at him and stomped on his head.

"I'll never let you win again. Demon. Never again."

I picked up the heavenly demons pure black spear and looked towards the man.

"You don't mind if I take this, correct?"

"No. But I'm going to need that core."

"…do you want the spear?"

"No. Give me the core."

Damnit. He's stubborn.

(A few hours later.)

(Parker Dunes POV)

I sat on a bench in a park. Of course the park was completely barren and covered in debris. And unusual stenches.
