System Bug: Heroine Forced to Marry the Villain

Why does the heroine have to marry the villain? It started just as a game, but now it's her new reality! Pandemic Year 5. Chiaki Spring is just freshly dumped from her years-long relationship. Humankind sees no future, and her working condition is miserable. She’s determined to start life anew by joining a metaverse called the Dome. Chiaki transmigrates into a strong and promiscuous heroine based on the action-adventure game she’s obsessed with. Unfortunately, System forces her to marry the villain character of the original game. Does Lance Hua put his heart into this marriage or view her as merely a tool for power? What big secret lurks underneath this scheming System? ================ Excerpt ================ "I'm not a sophisticated cook; my home cooking is so-so." "I can cook just fine." "Please split the house chores. With my guardianship duty, it's impossible for me to do the housekeeping alone." "Do you think I can't pay for cleaners?" Chiaki looked up from beneath her long lashes. "And lastly, um, don't force me in bed without my consent." The Evil Lord of the Northern region leaned closer, lowering his head until his dark irises turned blurred in her vision. "Do I even look like I want to sleep with you?" ======= This novel shares the same universe as my other novel, Taking Back This Battered World (TBTBW). Sleeping in His Embrace, but . . .

[General Chiaki Spring to surrender her manor and leave the premise immediately.]

Chiaki was only half-awake. She blinked her eyes a few times to chase away the sleepiness. The blurriness went away. She pushed the holodev back to her palm. Peeling herself out from the arms around her waist, she turned halfway to face the ceiling.

Her cheek was too close to Lance's nose. Even when he was asleep, his natural woody scent was still faintly exposed.

Chiaki's sluggish brain had two choices. It was either she completed her turn to face his face and let her body be wrapped in his embrace or to slip away and get on with her day.

She chose the lat— she chose the former.

It was a rare occasion to sleep like that, and she woke up feeling refreshed. If she could prolong the contact, she'd be happy to boot.

Her nose nuzzled on the span of his shoulder, grazing the soft bandage that tightly sealed the wounds.
