Synthetic Survivor: Machine Age(Alternative)

Disclaimer: Most of the contents in this book doesn't belong to me but from the original author name NaranNarman, the author of the original Synthetic Survivor. The reason I made this book was create a better version of it, because some part of the story isn't good and doesn't make any sense, so I'll rewrite it then. While the original author seems retires and didn't complete the whole story, I might just gonna complete it for him. And also, in this book, the characters and the outcome of the story is similar, I added an extra twist to make the story very thrill. And I change the names from the orginal book cause I felt like it. Assault on Air(2)

Somewhere in the forward decks of the Flagship, a member of one of the Republican's military corps, the 'Justice Order' having grown up within the Order ever since he could remember, learn, and train till he had reached to A-rank alongside his brothers. Once he came of age and passed the Final Examination, he was promoted to the ranks of a Protector.

Right now, he and his brothers' mission is to protect the Flagship as Guardians. The enemies that appeared before him were just lawless people like any other ignorant rebels he had slain throughout his years as the Guardian of the Republic.

Twin blades suddenly appeared in his arms like magic, his silver light cloak, which was a Unique-class Magic Item as it swept back as he charged forward towards the group of invaders, numbering twenty. As he closed the distance, he slashed each of his blades at the closest invader and unleashed his skill.

The expression of the two invaders turned to shock and pain as the blade cut them into two like his swords moving through water, not even their armor that was durable as Adamantite could withstand the attack, and by the time the body parts flew backward, he teleported and appeared within the group of invaders.

Engulfing his swords into black flames, he swung them with fitness, feeling the short sword-like weapon slashed every invader like the silent wind. Any slash or cut with his blades would leave behind scorched flesh and burns.

Within seconds he had cut down over fourteen. The remaining six at the rear raised their long black and red muskets like weapons and the thunderous roar and flash of the weapon left his ears ringing and a blob of white on his vision. Still, he twisted his body as he sensed the danger from the weapon, just barely avoiding the deadly projectile that tore a ragged hole in his magical cloak.

Normally, it would absorb magic it makes contact, but these projectiles seemed to he not one as they had easily torn it.

After a moment, with his ears still ringing painfully, he stood in the middle of the group of fallen invaders, the blood cooking and turning black on the edge of his blades while his battle brother finished off those that still had breathed in them. He gave a prayer in his heart for the brave yet weak invaders and was about to leave to join his other brother when another party of invaders appeared.

Amongst those invaders was a large bulky like figure that is taller than any human, no doubt that is an Orc, he was covering the rear of his section when they came to an abrupt halt. He took a glance and found a section of Legionnaires dead, their blood, and bodies spayed out along the passageway while two silver cloaks in blue armor stood over the dead.

"CONTACT!" The point man dropped to a crouch, his shotgun up and thundering, spewing a small cloud of energy out while the others took up firing positions.

The passageway immediately descended into chaos as the Legionnaires section engaged the two. Unsurprisingly, both assassins used their mana as magical shields, as a flickering rainbow hue appeared under the barrage of shots. To their surprise, they did not retreat but instead charge forward.

The lead point man yelled out in pain as he raised his shotgun up to block a downward stroke of the shiny blade in one of the assassin's hands. A severed metallic hand went flying off with blood squirting all over the passageway.

The passageway was wide enough for only three men to walk side by side and the short engagement distance was disadvantageous to the Legionnaires once a more powerful enemy got into melee range. The Legionnaires decided to return their rifles into their storage and brought out energy swords as the men huffed and grunted in the fight.

The Orc dropped his LMG like gun and drew a battle axe that he once held before joining this new Empire, and waded into the melee, the two A-rank assassins surprisingly managed to hold off his section and even downed four more Legionnaires at unprecedented speed. Both sides glared at each other thirty metere apart, four on the Legionnaires' side and two on the Republic. The Orc Legionnaires noticed that despite their heavy breathing, the silver A-rank assassins did not suffer any wounds.

"Grab the wounded!" The Orc soldier hissed as he noted his section Sergeant was one of the downed ones with a nasty belly wound. "I hold them back! GO!"

With an Orcish war cry, he leaped forward, already appearing the two as he moved at the speed like he had teleported.

Swinging his Axe down while in his other hand, he held an Energy Sword. Despite his size, he was anything but slow. He used his bulky frame to block and push the two silver A-ranks heads back and matched their slashes and stabs.

Taking the opportunity, he had given the section, the rest quickly dragged the wounded back. After several clashes of steel, both sides stepped back and reassessed their opponents. The Orc Soldier's Adamantite armor located on his arms and legs were torn, there was a sight of several burn marks on his skin, but already his natural healing ability had started work, but the scorching pain that remained made him grit his teeth with pain and anger.

The two silver A-rank assassins suddenly moved together, one sought to tangle with the Orc while the other went in for the kill. He could only roar out in anger and use all his strength, slamming his axe down, unleashing a skill that torn the ground below and create a powerful explosion, forcing the two assassins that faced him to drop back while the Orc suddenly threw a side kick at the other Silver assassin that tried a sneak attack.

For his efforts, he took a bad stab in his thighs. Grunting in pain, he hobbled out of reach of their blades when suddenly a yelled call out from behind. "GET DOWN!"

Quickly, he dropped prone just as his returning section mates opened fire at the two silver assassins whose mana that covered their body shredded. The two silver assassins quickly activated their magical skills and dodged as much as they could and slashed their swords engaged with their magic, unleashing magical slashes and cries of pain came from the Legionnaires.

The Orc Legionnaire rolled to his side and drew out his sci fi revolver like gun and snapped off all five shots at the closest silver assassin who was barely even three meters away. The silver assassin jerked as his magical armor that could even withstand and negate attacks that were equivalent to 9th tier spells, but were unable to withstand the punishing fire of the Machine Empire advanced guns, sending him crashing on his back with holes on his body.

"NO!"

The other silver assassin was enraged as he saw his battle brother fall. He screamed in his heart and glared at the lesser being who killed his brother. He leaped forward, ignoring the rest of the invaders with their advanced muskets, his only intention was to get justice for his fallen brother.

The damned Orc managed to evade his attack by rolling on the passageway like some slimy snake. His magical barrier finally depleted by the endless barrage of the invaders' weapons, yet he ignored it, and followed up on his missed attack, his blades going straight for the back of the neck of the High Orc.

To his surprise, the Orc rolled over and a gun appeared in its hands aimed at him. The pitch darkness within the tube seemed to be infinite when the Orc yelled out something, and the tube flared into eye searing brightness.

"FUCK YOU!" The Orc Legionnaire pumped the action of the shotgun, spitting out dozens of balls of red energy and shooting at the face of the silver assassin. The loud boom that followed was the most satisfying noise the Orc and anyone has ever heard.

The silver assassin's head vanished with a puff, immediately riddled with holes and painted with blood and brains. The Orc Legionnaire dropped the smoking shotgun and slumped on his back in pain as his adrenaline wore off. The torn armor of his and the burn cuts all over his body both hurt and itchy as he laid there while the rest of his section that was more able came over to drag him to safety.

"Ow... this fucking hurts... I wonder why I joined this nation that I don't even know..."
