24-Hour War(1)

A/n: I'm only doing this for a deal with one of my favorite readers, Mr_Puffer. I hope y'all readers don't get mad about months of lack of chapters. But here it is, folks. Also, Mr_Puffer, if you were reading this message, 1 chapter published per 3 or 4 chapters for you to read. 2 is not enough according to my calculations.

The citizens of one of the major cities of the Republic of Aetlrus are roaming the streets, minding their own business. Guards are patrolling the city. Carriages and Airship merchants roaming on both ground and air. Things are going well until multiple portals appear all over the city, and emerging from these portals were the Machine army's enormous Warships, just the size of each of them nearly shadowing one-eighth of the entire city.

Do note that the city is about as large as any large cities on earth, and to think one Warship was able to cover one-eighth is still ginormous in size.

The public below in the city could only watch the warships in both shock, confusion, curiosity, and amazement, as well as fear.

Before any of them had a chance to react, every single warship proceeded to attack them in full force.

BOOM!

…And their first target was blowing two towers with the same height, towering all of the buildings in its surroundings before it collapsed. This first shot caused all of the citizens to panic as they were screaming in fear and ran away from the chaos as best as they could.

This also caused the defenses of the city to be immobilized as an army of 50,000 defending forces from warriors, beast tamers, magic casters, adventurers, mercenaries, and various forces to engage the enemy.

Right at that moment, dozens of planes with little propellers in their front and a jet thruster attached to their rear suddenly came flying out of the Warships. These were the Retrofitted V2's, a type of kamikaze drones that crashed itself and exploded everything with the explosive equivalent of 7500 tons of TNT. All of the V2's soon struck every part of the city and exploded, destroying numerous buildings and thousands of people across the city and those who got caught in the explosion were either badly injured or killed as every major place, building and structure started burning and breaking down across the region.

Within one of the Warships, a woman with silver hair stood over a vast room, observing the city as the chaos unfolds.

"Is it everything you hope for, ma'am?" One of the officers asked.

"Of course, "Because it means the destruction of innocent lives"." The silver-haired woman said with a cruel smile, also unknowingly she used a part of the lyrics from the song playing in the background.

In the skies above the city, multiple portals opened in the sky and came flying out a new kind of squadron of jet fighters drones that travel through the city skyline at the speed of mach 30.

The Jet Drones started flying across the city and began bombing runs and flew past some of the Machine Empire's Warships. The Legionaries who were within the airships observed the chaos and saw the jets in both awe and amazement.

[All troops get ready for ground operations.]

Multiple straight ramps came up from the sides of all the three warships. The ramps launched the first Legionnaire soldiers one by one as they started diving towards the city with their highly-advanced weapons that could kill an B-rank with ease and their armor that rivals that of Adamantite. From one of the portals came an army of more Legionnaires soldiers wearing parachutes as they dive towards the city. The Legionnaires soldiers pulled the cord of their parachutes and started to safely descend towards the city.

"Induction then destruction, who wants to die!?"

On the streets of the city, more portals opened, and more soldiers came, numbering over thousands of strong personnel along with a hundred Android Soldiers. With them were also a couple of tanks and other machines of war.

And last but not least, the dreaded, feared but infamous robot dogs, the Panzerhunds.

The massive force of the Machine Empire started marching down the streets while most Tanks, APCs, IFVs, and other infantry vehicles began firing at the mages and some proceeded to invade the city.

Ten Airships of the Republic's Liberation Army hovered in lower altitude, dropping more Paladin Knights and powerful mages to deal with them.

One airship landed and was about to land more troops to drop. Unfortunately, it didn't go well as the Spider Tank appeared, its tank gun fires at the airship, destroying it including the people inside. They keep marching through the streets as they fire at both civilians and soldiers that are standing in their way. The magic users cast magical defenses and cast any strongest magic they had, even it levels a building while archers firing magical arrows at the enemy, they even sent six Knight Golems to deal with them.

However, these Golem knights look different than in Ghirra's wall, it looks the same but its runes were white instead of blue and they are way larger, about 50 meters in height. The Knight Golems unleashed a magical beam out of their face at the Legions, most of them avoided it with their superhuman capabilities, but unfortunately for most of the Legions with a physical ability of a C-rank or below were vaporized to smithereens.

Just then, four gunship drones came behind them and unleashed a rain of missiles as the Knight Golems were easily destroyed.

A squad of Legionnaires shotgunners leaped out of their cover and raced towards the enemy forces before firing at the Republican soldiers, Knights, Paladins, and Mages by maneuvering around, running through obstacles with ease and shooting them with shotguns like pros. Their strongest magical barrier that could withstand an attack that destroys mountains was taken down by the Spider Tank using half of its power. The Legionnaires began to storm in the inner city as they kept attacking the people in the city.

The military force had no chance to defeat them so they decided to run away and leave a few soldiers and mages behind. But they didn't get too far when Battle Drones shooting them down preventing them from escaping the city

Once they completely take over the whole city, they round up any survivors and take them to the facility, which they already built just for two hours and brainwash them, turn them into their own to create more soldiers.

In the capital of the Aetlrus Republic, the Councilors are in a panic, just an hour ago, a surviving messenger who escape from the battle by using a teleportation magic artifact, he barged in the throne room and immediately report an invasion on Ghirra's Wall and all of the major cities. The report made an impact on the counselor.

"How is that possible! They already defeated both the Imperial and Liberation army of both empires, occupied Ghirra's wall and all of our major cities for the past five hours?!" One of the counselors exclaimed, who couldn't hold his anger and was about to burst.

"No, this might be a lie, no army could occupied 40% of our lands for a short period of time"

"It's true councilors, the report says it all," The messenger says as he glanced down.

"What about the demigods in one of the cities, do they do anything?"

"I heard the report says they did but unfortunately, the enemies already have demigods on their own." The messenger says with a bit of hesitation, "They even have some magical weapons, or weren't even magical, had capabilities to kill Demigods."

"Damn it! Mobilize every single force immediately, we need to reoccupy our lands back!" Counselor Famulis said as she and the other Counselors have the same thought.

As the other counselors ordered their military to be ready for the upcoming invasion and the fight for their thousand year empire, as their mobilization is half way there, an earthquake happens.

"What happened, an earthquake?"

"No, they are here!!"

"Shit!"
