Chapter 9

I get ready. The guests are finally here. I was getting tired of waiting. I even thought of discovering the world together with Hazel.

But then they barge in. Although I was actually slacking off.

Now I have to be extra careful. They will land in probably two hours.

They can annihilate the entire human population in just a few minutes. I don't know their numbers or their actual potential.

So I am completely outclassed. I don't know if I can even put up a fight.

Maybe I will be killed as well. And this story will end. But this gets me more fired up.

My life is at stake. It's getting interesting.

I exit my house with Hazel. I should arm myself. Again, I don't know if our weapons would work or not.

Their physique is unknown as well.

Further action is impossible due to insufficient information.

I have to gather knowledge. Now let's try to do things stealthily.

I pick up some firearms I took from the city center in the capital. Some assault weapons and a few handguns. They had precision sniper rifles and heavy weapons as well. I didn't take those.

They would be very effective against humans but they are extraterrestrial life forms.

So I should not expect them to have same physique as humans.

Still, it's better than nothing.

I look at Hazel. I am currently inside the town border. But I can see the plains from here.

I didn't have any armor. So I put on my lead jacket.

It should protect me if they use nuclear weapons.

Still, this is all I can do for now.

Hazel is also looking at the plains. Don't know why but she is unusually tense as well.

Maybe she is worried about me. Ahhh. Such a good dog.

Now I really wanna marry her. If only she was like the dog beastkin. That's also fantasy.

So I slap my cheeks to get back to reality. More than an hour has passed. I can see something coming from the sky.

It's actually entering at a low pace.

The reentry in the atmosphere should burn the outside. But they are perfectly avoiding that and maintaining a steady course.

It looks like they are capable of intergalactic travel.

So the science fiction is true now.

I wait for a little more and they have descended.

The spaceship itself isn't that big.

About the size of normal passenger plane.

The shape is like a bird. Not those round saucer type.

No, humans just exaggerated it in the past.

And judging from its size, it should have a crew of 100 at most.

A reconnaissance team sent to analyze I think.

I patiently wait as they might get off that ship.

And finally the moment came. The door opened.

I was expecting something like those old movies. Like green body and round head or spikes or tentacles.

But reality was different. They looked like normal humans.

"Wha…..?" I say this as I am very astonished at the sight.

They look like normal humans.

No difference whatsoever.

Hazel is still looking and she looked at me.

Her eyes seemed to be saying,

'Let's leave.'

I pat her head and say, "No. We need to see."

I am a bit away from their landing spot.

So they should not have noticed me.

I guess, they aren't trying to.

Their confidence must be pretty damn high.

No, it's actually okay. I am the anomaly in the first place. Something outside of their equation.

I am the balance breaker.

I am talking to myself even more than before.

Maybe I am a bit scared.

I steel my nerves and get ready.

I need to get closer to them or I won't know anything.

I am about a kilometer away from them.

So I start walking with Hazel in tow. I should get closer but I have to watch out as well.

They should not notice me.

And after moving closer, I am currently 100 meters away.

I look at them. 4 in total. No weapons on them and they are wearing weird body suits.

Their gender is unknown.

I look at Hazel.

"What do you think they are? Male or female or both?" I ask her.

She just nodded her head. Maybe she is confused as well.

They are looking around and taking some equipment out.

Should I strike first? If I am fast enough all of them would be dead.

But their potential is unknown. Technology is possibly far too advanced.

I have to be wary of them.

I move closer.

Only a few meters away from them.

But they still haven't noticed me.

I can hear them talking.

"■■■■■■■■■■■■■"

What language is that? But they are from space.

It's not like I expected them to speak in our language.

Listening to them is useless.

So I just observe them.

They are pointing at the town. Being a few meters away from them, I am currently outside of the city as well.

I can see the gate.

They are heading to the gate.

'Fast' is the word I can use. They walk fast.

After 2 minutes, they entered the city.

"Maybe I should investigate their ship." I say and head to their ship.

I pray that it doesn't have any security system.

And I worked. I touch the door and it opened.

I entered with Hazel.
