Chapter 11

I am spying on the aliens. I have also stolen a few of their stuff.

So it turns out that I can understand them if I wear the amulet.

I am hiding behind a tree. Hazel is with me.

It is quite an amateurish move but based on their behavior, I don't think they will notice.

I hear their conversation.

"It didn't go as we planned."

"Yes. We killed them as planned yet we didn't get that."

"But it's too quick to give up."

"Right. Let's write a report and leave this wretched place."

"Yes. Nothing but death lingers here. It's too eerie. I feel like I have come to the underworld."

"Yes. Let's go inside."

They went inside of the ship.

I am stuck. They came here to search for something but it wasn't here.

I am very interested in them. But I have found some interesting stuff.

That gun and staff is still with me.

I should test them out. But not now.

I should probably wait. Let's stalk them.

I look at the ship.

It doesn't look like it's going to fly away. So I head back to my place.

It's already night after all. But how did this much time pass?

I didn't even feel it.

I put down the gun and staff.

I have those firearms as well.

But I am tired. I should take a bath and sleep.

I take the amulet off and put the book down.

I cannot understand anything without that amulet.

But it's a flaw.

I have to learn their language for ease.

The amulet is just a temporary solution.

It is night. So I should sleep.

I finish my chores and get to bed.

Hazel is beside me.

My night is gonna be peaceful.

I have investigated the aliens and I still have my jacket on.

Probably they would let their guards down.

I fall asleep.

In the morning I wake up.

Hazel is still asleep.

I leave my bed and look outside the window.

And I am amazed.

The aliens are leaving.

I can clearly see their ship leaving.

"Now this is surprising! They only came yesterday." I say that aloud.

But they were looking dejected after investigating the town yesterday.

Maybe they failed to find their desired stuff.

So they lost their interest, maybe?

I should still check.

I take my phone and connect it to the main server.

I scan the area to see if something is there.

No. Around the area, I found nothing.

I widened my search area and searched around the world using the remaining satellites.

But I found nothing.

Maybe they left this planet.

Now that's relieving.

I can freely use their weapons that I stole. I think.

That gun and staff. The gun especially caught my eye.

I cannot find a single thing on that that could be said technological.

Still, I have to test it. I get ready to test it out.

My testing ground would be that place.

Outside of the town, just at the mouth of the jungle.

I wake up Hazel and prepare.

I would love test those two and read the book.

Know your enemy better than yourself.

So I have to absorb every single piece of information from that book.

Now let's leave as I have already prepared while monologuing.

My exams are coming. My mind can’t calm down. So please be a little patient. I will try to be more regular.
