SOON TO BE YOUR HUSBAND, BUT NEVER THE WIFE

Trevs John, the son of one of the wealthiest families in the Philippines, was born to Liya, a talented and famous musician known for her piano skills and mastery of various instruments, and Leonardo III, the richest businessman in their area. Although his father could be strict at times, he was generally kind.

Despite their wealth, Trevs was not happy because his parents were always too busy to spend time with the family. Trevs' only companion at home was his small cat, Lily, given to him by his father on his fifth birthday. Trevs was overjoyed to have someone to keep him company, as he was quite fearful and needed companionship constantly. Despite having many housemaids, he still felt scared, which led his father to buy him a cat. Trevs and Lily played together every night until they fell asleep.

When Trevs was eight, his parents returned from a business trip with their business partners, the Zupan family, another of the wealthiest families in the Philippines. Excited by his parents' arrival, Trevs hurried downstairs to hug them.

Young Trevs: "MOM! DAD! I missed you so much!"

Liya: "We missed you too, honey. How have you been while we were gone?"

Young Trevs: "It was fun, Mom since Lily was here to entertain me. And guess what, mom! I made this for you!"

Trevs gave his mom a beautiful bouquet of flowers with a letter.

Young Trevs: "Lily and I made this for you!"

Liya: "Thank you so much, honey. You're as sweet as your father. Do you want to meet your uncle and aunty?"

Young Trevs: "Yes, mommy!"

Leonardo: "Trevs, meet your uncle and aunty."

Trevs greeted them and showed his respect.

Liya: "This is your Uncle Achilles, and this is your Aunt Lyla. Wait, where is Kyle?"

Lyla: "Where is Kyle, honey? Kyle! Kyle!"

Trevs asked his mom who Kyle was. His mom told him Kyle would be Trevs' friend, being his aunty and uncle's son. Trevs was thrilled as he had never met other kids before, being homeschooled and mostly confined to the house.

A handsome young boy came running toward them.

Lyla: "Kyle! Where have you been? I told you not to get lost!"

Young Kyle: "I'm sorry, mom. It won't happen again, hehehe."

Achilles: "Kyle, say hi to Trevs, your ninong and ninang's son."

Liya: "Trevs, say hi to Kyle. You'll be friends, okay? Be good."

Young Trevs: "Hello, Kyle! You're very handsome, by the way."

Upon meeting Trevs, Kyle's heart raced, and his face turned red. Trevs approached Kyle and asked his aunty,

Young Trevs: "Aunty, what's happening to Kyle? He's turning red like a tomato."

Lyla: "Oh, don't mind that, Trevs. He's just shy."

Young Trevs: "Oh, okay! Don't worry, Kyle. I'm shy too. So, what do you like? What are your hobbies? Are you allergic to anything? Do you like cats?"

Kyle: "Ye... yeah, I guess so," he said, blushing.

Young Trevs: "Oh, that's great because I have a cat. Wanna see her? Her name is Lily. Aunty, can Kyle and I play?"

Lyla: "Of course, Trevs. Go ahead."

Trevs took Kyle's hand and they ran upstairs, with Kyle blushing even more. Their parents watched happily. Trevs opened his room door and they both went inside. He made Kyle sit while he looked for Lily. He found Lily hiding behind the bookshelves.

Young Trevs: "Oh, there you are!"

Trevs picked up Lily and brought her to Kyle.

Young Trevs: "Lily, this is Kyle. Kyle, this is Lily."

Young Kyle: "Hi, Lily," he greeted, petting her head.

Lily: "Meow~"

Young Trevs: "How many days are you staying here, Kyle?"

Young Kyle: "Oh, mom told me we're staying for three days. It's just family business they're here for."

Young Trevs: "Oh, okay. Where are you sleeping? You can sleep in my room if you want."

Young Kyle: "Ehhh? *Blushing* Su... sure."

Trevs smiled and hugged Kyle, who was speechless and blushing with excitement. Trevs asked Kyle why his face was red, but Kyle looked away in embarrassment. Trevs didn't know Kyle had feelings for him.

After three days...

It was Kyle and Trevs' last day playing together, as Kyle would leave later. That night, while they were playing, Kyle said something while holding Trev's cheek.

Young Kyle: "Trevs, ca... can I... ask you something?"

Young Trevs: "What is it?" *smiling*

Young Kyle: "Ca... can I... Can I..."

Young Trevs: "Can you what?"

Young Kyle: "CAN I KISS YOU!!" *Blushing hard*

Trevs was stunned, not knowing what a kiss was. He asked Kyle.

Young Trevs: "What's a kiss? Can you show me how it works?"

Young Kyle: "It's what couples do. Are you sure?"

Young Trevs: "Yep! I like to learn new stuff!"

Kyle moved closer to Trevs, so close that Trevs could feel Kyle's breath. Without realizing it, Kyle brought his lips to Trev's and kissed him. It was their first kiss.

Trevs, surprised, kissed Kyle back. It was a moment neither of them would forget. Kyle, realizing what he had done, looked away in embarrassment.

Young Kyle: "Sorry, Trevs!"

Young Trevs: "It's okay. It's not that bad," he smiled.

Before Kyle could say anything more, his mom called him as they were about to leave. Kyle quickly stood up but said something to Trevs before leaving.

Young Kyle: "Trevs, I love you. I'll come back soon."

Young Trevs: "Promise?"

Young Kyle: "Promise."

Kyle left, and Trevs waited for Kyle until he grew up, but Kyle never returned, so Trevs eventually forgot about him. Trevs grew up talented and intelligent. One day, his mom told him,

Liya: "Trevs, your father and I have decided you should attend school and stop being homeschooled. You know, meet new people and explore."

Trevs: "Really, mom? Yay! Thank you, mom and dad! I love you so much!"

And from there, Trevs' real journey began. He met new people and traveled to different places, but disasters were inevitable, and someone from his past would return.
