The sight of his new creation brought joy to Soul. He had created something that he could call his own. It was a person, a subject, a soldier. It was a lot of things. "So, how do you feel?" Soul asked, helping the new Corrupted Soldier up. "I feel...good. It feels...different, at least to what I'm used to. Strangely enough, I feel so much stronger. It doesn't feel real yet if I'm being honest with you." The creature responded as Soul took note of its new design, the black void suddenly turning into a white, nondescript horizon.
The black creature stood at six feet and three inches, and his body appeared to be entirely smooth, bar the pink Corruption outlining his eyes and teeth. His apparent body frame was an ectomorph, meaning that he was skinny. "How do you feel about your new body? It's certainly different from the one you were given by Auth." Soul pondered, wondering the effects of suddenly having a different body structure. "I'll need to get used to the balance of the frame, although it is certainly lighter." The creature responded, jumping three metres into the air while barely moving his legs. "Whoa!" He yelled in surprise as Soul let out a little chuckle. "You'll learn how to control your power eventually, soldier. Now, what should I call you?" Soul responded, trying to think of a name.
"Well, you could call me by my original name, Noctar. It was the name given to me by my original birth parents, and it's been my name since death, too." Noctar explained, looking at Soul with a strange expression. "Sure, you can keep your name. It saves me the hassle of trying to come up with one for you, so I'm all for it. You are now called Noctar, and you are the first Corrupted Soldier in my army." Soul announced, causing him to remember where he had to go.
"Listen. I've been unconscious for the past while, so how about we head out of my head. We can travel back to the real world. After all, all you need to do is turn yourself into Corruption, and you'll lose all form, which means that I'll be able to absorb you without an issue." Soul explained, causing Noctar to remember what he was now capable of. His body quickly dissolved into a pile of Corruption, which almost immediately joined back up with Soul, making him just a bit taller.
"Alright, let's go," Soul said, closing his eyes while snapping his fingers, a click resounding in his ears before everything was cut off. He couldn't hear, see, smell, feel, or sense anything. It was the purest of the void. However, just as quickly as the nothingness washed over him, it was dragged away like waves on a coastline.
Soul shot up, his mind assaulted with the sights and smells of the world outside of his own head. He looked around and saw Orochi, Oki and the others messing around with a staff and one of Orochi's scales from his arm while standing on the pile of rubble that had been left behind by Ronin and Orochi. "Hey! What are you guys doing?" Soul yelled in curiosity, noting the pink, bloodlike Corrupted essence that lay on the ground around him.
Everyone turned to face him, shocked to hear his voice. Soul stood up, noting a strange weakness in his chest. "Hey, Soul! You've got a load of holes in your chest! Are you good?" Oki yelled back, waiting for one of his usual replies. "Yeah, I'm fine! T'is but a scratch! Nothing more than a flesh wound!" Soul replied before touching his fingers against the Corrupted Essence that lay splattered on the floor. The pink essence crawled up his arm, almost like a spider to a dead animal. It was absorbed into his open wounds and rapidly healed in front of the group. "There's no point in wasting the materials I already have in front of me!" Soul announced, all of the holes in his body patched up.
"That's what I like to hear!" Oki yelled back, jumping down from the pile of rubble and walking over to talk to Soul. Everyone else followed suit, even some of the surviving Beastpeople. Soul stretched out his arms, waiting for everyone to walk over to him since they were all curious about what had happened. "So, mind telling me what happened with you falling unconscious?" Oki asked as Soul tilted his head to the side a bit. "Well, from what I can remember, I had used a new form that I unlocked, and I had fallen unconscious because of the said form. It had tired me out, but that wasn't the only reason. Fighting a Boundless User, not just one with a higher strength level than me, is much more taxing, considering I have theoretically infinite power against any of you. He does as well, so we have to go off our level of Boundlessness to fight against each other." Soul explained, causing Oki to look at him with a confused expression.
"Wait, you said he was at 80% Boundlessness, right?" Amana asked. "That is correct. Ronin was 80% during my fight against him, which made it so that he had a lot of new abilities." Soul responded, not seeing the point. "What level of Boundlessness are you at?" Amana continued. "Oh, I'm at thirty...I can see where the confusion would be." Soul realised as Amana looked at him with an expectant expression.
"Here's my explanation. Boundless people have stronger Soul's than other people, but I have an even stronger Soul than most Boundless users. This means that I have access to better abilities than my opponents. This means I have a natural strength boost and an increased power cap." Soul explained as his hands portrayed the movement of a power scale. "Now, if I have access to stronger abilities, and Ronin did not, do you want to know what that makes me?" Soul asked everyone. They all leaned in as Soul smiled.
"Overpowered as all hell."
