Prologue:
The main protagonist narrates what happened to the world from 2024 to 2100.
Narrator: "Did you think, why are humans the only such intelligent species in the world or even the universe? Other species also live in the world, but they do not think like humans. That's why humans are the only species that keep improving themselves from the Stone Age to the modern era in 2100. But now, humans chase and live in their good memories, and even some of them are trapped in it."
Then, the title "Shattering Memories" appears, and the chapter 1 starts begin.
Chapter 1: The promise of yesterday
Narrator: "This all started with humans developing quickly from the Stone Age to now, but it grew hyper-fast between 2040 to 2090. In 2040, many of them had long-term ambitions. Humans sent missions to Mars, initiated by Elon Musk's SpaceX and NASA. In 2045, the next mission was to build a base there and create an ozone layer with new advanced technology manufactured by Blue Light. In 2056, the first human family lived there, and in 2060, the next mission created the first city on Mars, named Nexara. The project ended in 2085, and now my parents and all my relatives live on Mars, not Earth. My dad works at Blue Light Technologies Inc., which is the first company started on Mars.
That company is the only reason I lost my sister; she went missing in a dream. I searched for her, but I am now tired, tired of searching a lot but finding nothing—no clues about it. This happens because of him, and only him—that is right; that is Blue Light Technologies.
This all started in 2095 when Blue Light Technologies Inc. introduced a new technology named 'Echo'. This technology allows a person to live in their memories. It's like a dream, but it's possible. You can feel anything in your memories; you can touch, smell, and even taste. But no one told the truth that you can use it for a very long time. You can even be manipulated by the technological AI called 'Sin.' Now, thousands of people are trapped in dreams, but the technology is also available in the market. Most people protest to stop the technology, but nothing happens; even I see that it's the best-selling product. That company has all the power politically and economically. But I am a single person, living in this world for my sister and for that promise as well."
Flashback: 10 years ago
The heroine's family history unfolds. Her mother, father, sister, and she are in a flying car when suddenly tragedy strikes. Both of her parents die in the accident, leaving her and her sister alone. Her mother's last words were, "Please, Yuko, save your sister and protect her from all cross in any situation."
But now, Yuko cries, "I can't save my sister! I lost my promise, and I miss my sister. But Ruko, I am your sister, Yuko! I will definitely save you from being trapped. I will definitely save you!"
