"Dead... We- Had a v-ision. He showed u-us th—is land, th-these abandoned a-bbeys. We, d-decided to bring e-everyone else in, b-ut, only ten of us made i—it. They were in-jure-d... Cough! Cough! The vision told us to e-at them... Sp-Spread his m-message with our bite and b-bodies," The one with the Italian accent spoke while coughing hard. "God... He's God... We eat... live... and bring h-his words into the wo-world. You n-need to join us... Be-Be one, wi-with his v-vision!"
"Well, ask your God to save your ass then. Where is he I wonder?" I stood up from the chair. This bunch of lunatics must got their heads screwed up. I looked around the place once more and noticed a few old canisters lying around. Humm... They are empty and have danger signs on them. The writings have long faded away, but from what I can tell, whatever these canisters carried was not so good for health.
"Don't move from there."
I walked outside for a moment and took a look around. The garbage dumpster on the right corner of the stairs... Let's see if I was right. I grabbed the lid and threw it inside and right away, a terrible stench spread out and a swarm of flies flew out. Rotting meat... Some of them have a tattoo on their shoulders. And those same canisters. I quickly closed the lid.
Phew! Oh, God! The stench... I almost threw out. I went back inside. Those two bastards were still on their knees. I picked up one of the canisters, "What was inside it? Explain?"
"B—ut, you don't understand, mister. The vision will free us from curse... Th-There are creatures that lurk in the dead of darkness. A world where humans are... Cough! They will come back from the depths of the hellfire. Eat each other, we should embrace the new world and new r-ules. Live in Ha-rmony with the dead," The injured bastard with an Italian accent blabbed again about their insane belief and some shitty fantasy tale of their 'GOD.' I put down the canister.
"Don't tell me you ate whatever was inside them," I asked.
They both smiled proudly.
"Y-You will under—stand, a-fter tasting human flesh once, and now... The family... we have shared... Flesh... Tasty flesh... We killed those non-believers, took away their food... We had to eat... Survive... The flesh liberated us from the curse..." The other guy babbled.
Fuck! These must be the zombie samples Shield executives were working on before they fell and the people of this town ate them. They took a chance instead of starving to death during winter. They must have also eaten whatever test subjects or whatever Shield was working on. Finally, they lost their mind due to that. Soon, hallucinations began due to poisoning by chemicals or something else, who knows. And they turned into a cannibal cult, following their delusions.
"Here you go," I threw the knife on the floor, "There's only one knife and two of you. Oh, don't worry. I won't tell you to fight and kill each other. Here's what you are gonna do. The first one to cut off his tongue with this knife will get a massive chance of survival. So, I wonder who's gonna win?"
I returned to my seat and the chair was once again comfortable. I placed my hands on the side armrests.
Now, everything went silent. Both of the lunatics looked at each other. Their body tensed, sweat dripping from their bodies. Soon their lips quivered. They both instantly dashed towards that knife at the same time and fell on the ground fighting each other to get their filthy hands on it.
I just watched that with a smile on my face. I hope that girl and whoever these fuckers have killed are looking at them, right now.
"Gimme that, you bastard," The baldy one punched the Italian guy's cheek. But the latter wrapped his legs around the former and clasped his hands. The Italian rolled to his side, moving forward. But, his opponent had grabbed his neck and had him in an iron grip. They moved with great momentum as the bald guy smashed his head onto an empty bottle. Then taking the brief opening he grabbed the knife, but the other man didn't give up.
The Italian latched on to him. Glass shards were sticking all over his face, and blood was dripping too much. He grabbed a broken glass shard and began to stab the baldy's belly repeatedly with an angry snarl. But the baldy was wearing a bulletproof vest, even so, repeated stabs on that old weared-out vest, tore open and finally, the glass shard stuck his belly.
"GAAAAAHHH! You mofo!" The baldy tried to stab the Italian guy with the knife, but that nimble guy avoided a direct stab in his chest and jabbed the glass shard into his throat, "Kuggggg!!" The baldy threw the knife and grabbed his throat. He took out the glass shard and threw it on the floor before struggling to breathe. Blood spewed out like a leaked pipe from his throat.
"Ain't that bad, you might survive that. Remember, cut your tongue or else I'm not letting you die peacefully," I clapped my hand to remind the other guy.
"I'm gonna win the trial. This is his will..." The Italian guy picked up the knife and sliced off his tongue without even a single flinch. His jaw clenched shut with pain, and he pressed on the wound. The blood continued to drip on the floor and spread across the concrete. "Kukukuku... Gurlll!"
"Now, take the knife and cut off your friend's arms and legs. Pluck his eyes or cut his nose and ears... Chop him up just like you chopped those people out there. Hurry up! Do it before you bleed to death," I yelled at the Italian guy who was grunting and garbling incoherent words.
The knife slowly turned, facing the baldy. It was so slow that you could barely notice its movement. In an instant, the Italian plunged the knife at his friend, but the baldy evaded the stab, but slipped on his own blood and fell to the ground. The Italian guy jumped up on him and began to stab him like a maniac.
He stabbed the baldy everywhere, making holes all over his face and chest. Then he began to cut his arms but fell forward over the baldy's dead body. He lost way too much blood. If I were to guess, he has only two minutes left to live.
I kicked him away from the baldy. His body crashed onto the wall, before crashing down on the floor. I sat back on the chair and watched him bleed. I watched blood gushing out of his mouth and pooling around his head. His body was spasming with each passing second. I sat there until I heard the gurgling sound coming from his throat. Slowly the pool of blood stopped. His body began to writhe and move, his chest rose high up, before suddenly relaxing, his mouth a bloody, gaping, empty hole.
He died.
The scent of blood was too strong in the air. I still can't believe I just did that. But, this time at least, I don't feel any remorse or regrets. I'm actually glad that I get to kill them. I would have hated myself if I left a soul like them living on Earth.
My eyes went toward the entrance. Tyger stood there, her eyes on those two dead bodies. She aimed her gun and shot their heads, splattering their brains on the floor.
"Any more of them around?" She asked.
"Nope. According to them everyone died or they ate them. But I don't know if I can believe the words of some lunatics. Well," I stood up and turned my attention toward the big sealed door, "Now, we have to think of a way to open this sealed door. There might be danger inside. Zombies sealed over time... That could be a bad thing. They might have feasted on each other unable to resist their hunger and might have mutated..."
"But we need those weapons in there to survive," Tyger walked over to the door and touched it with her palm.
"Yup! So, how's Jennifer doing?" I asked.
"Oh! Yeah, don't worry. Doc took over and patched her up. She was in a critical state due to dehydration and lack of proper meals, and due to blood loss, but with the resources we have, it's nothing to worry about. She just needs food and plenty of rest to recover."
"That's good to know. Dang! To think we are going to meet a celebrity in such a situation..." I leaned on the wall beside the door.
"Well, not much of a celebrity, now that a zombie apocalypse has wiped more than half of humanity off the Earth," Tyger answered with a sigh. "Anyway, got any idea how to open this door?"
