------------------------------

Mylo looked carefully at the two options in front of him. The first option was pretty much impossible. At his core, Orsova would never change. His potential for changes would be based on two factors; personality and external appearances. Based on his standing in society, he has little flexibility for change of any sort. His reputation as a lord would falter and slowly damage what his built for himself. Which is something he is not willing to risk, it would also leave a bad impression on himself if he left the left to such character.

The second option would be the morally appropriate action. Finding an adoptive parent to take care of the young child while unconditionally loving him would be the better decision. 'But who?' Mylo thought as he watched the pained child, silently walking behind me with his head down.

"I should talk to him but I don't know what to say…"

"Leave it to me Cosmo, who's better to handle a child than a former father."

"…!"

A sudden realization came over Mylo. His answer was right in front of him from the very beginning. The hunts man lost both his son and wife at a relatively young age, he had no one he could consider family anymore. Convincing him to mend his regrets over his son by raising Aureus would surely benefit everyone. Watching Efferus reassuring the saddened child was more then enough to bring the topic of adoption to him.

"He finally fell asleep."

"I appreciate all the help you provided to us, Efferus."

"Don't worry about it… I'm actually worried about Aureus. That jerk Orsova does not even recognize his existence."

"…I actually had something in mind, and, in my opinion, it's the best outcome that could come out of this situation."

"Oh! Let me hear it then."

"Efferus, how about adopting Aureus as your son?"

"W-wait, Cosmo this is a bit…"

"Look, I understand your concern. But I think this is the best outcome for you too."

"For me too? What do you mean by that?"

"Didn't you tell me you wished you could rectify the choices you made with Idece? What happened in the past can never be changed, you have so much regret and hatred towards yourself. I truly believe that raising Aureus as your own son would help you heal any deploring thoughts you may have, and based on my understanding of you, I doubt you actually plan on finding another partner."

"…I-I need some time to think about it. It's late, let's go to sleep. Il give you my answer tomorrow morning."

"Don't feel obliged to do it, it's only a suggestion. It's no easy feat raising someone else's child."

"I know…"

"Okay, good night then."

"Good night…"

-Next Morning-

After logging out for seven in game hours, Mylo logged back in and headed towards Efferus house in order to hear his answer.

Arriving at the house, Mylo could see Efferus crouched down near the main entrance, speaking to Aureus while patting his head. While closing into them, Mylo could only be surprised by the sudden action of Efferus. 'They're hugging?' Mylo tough.

"Good morning Efferus, what's going on?"

"Good morning Cosmo. I've had all night to think about your suggestion, and I decided to accept it."

"Really! What made you do it?"

"A dream."

"A dream?"

"In my dream I spoke with my deceased son."

"What did you speak about?"

"Moving on."

"…"

"Our conversation was quite short but somehow ever lasting. I promised my son that I would move on, and not dwindle over my regrettable decisions. You where right, I do not have any plan on marrying again. As such, I decided to raise Aureus whom has no one to call family. Just like me. It also does not sit well with me, abandoning such a young child to fend for himself in the gutters."

"I presume that the child has no issue with it?"

"Yes, he was pretty enthusiastic about the idea of having a father."

"I'm glad for both of you. Huh?"

A sudden sensation could be felt pulling down Mylo's shirt. He looked down and saw Aureus pulling his shirt.

"What is it Aureus?"

"…T-thank you Mister, I will forever be grateful for your help."

[Congratulations you have Completed the Hidden Chain Quest 'Golden Child']

[The Bond between mother and son is a special one. It remains unchanged even by death. ]

[You have acquired 'A Mother's Blessing' Passive skill]

[Aureus affinity is at 100%]

[Aureus does not have any wares as of yet]

"I will grow up to be someone you will be proud of! I will make it so you don't regret helping me."

Mylo raised his hand and patted the young boy with a smile on his face.

"I did nothing, Efferus is the one you should be grateful for. Don't mistreat your savior understand?"

"I would never disrespect father!"

"Hahaha… you did good holding up all this time. I am sure you will become a great man, am I right? Golden boy!"

"I-I will!"

"Good! Now then, I think it's time for me to leave."

"Huh? What do you mean leave?"

"I stayed for far too long in the Kingdom, I have yet to start my adventure."

"I see, will I ever see you again?"

"Don't worry my friend, I will come back. I still have to take care of that curse that the guardian inflicted on me. I'm just not strong enough to deal with it, well that is, as long as the King can resolve the corruption issue for me. Only time will tell."

Efferus reached out his hand, looked at Mylo with a saddened expression.

"Thank you for everything, meeting you was truly a blessing. May we cross paths again."

Mylo mirrored Efferus action, held his hand and with confidence said;

"We will my friend!"

Mylo withdrew his hand and walked away while hearing Aureus goodbyes from behind.

"I have yet to decide my next destination, but more importantly, let's see what my reward was."

"…"
