"The gamble payed off, I would be fervent if my weapon was the one that got lost. Surprisingly, i did not get any downside from dying. I guess the item I stole from the guardian really pissed him off, seeing as he cursed me. Unfortunately for him, I don't make use of active skills and I don't do party plays. This curse is harmless to me. But don't worry, I'll make sure to visit you again when I get stronger."

Mylo openned his inventory in order to take a look at the item he stole from the guardian.

Mylo reached the training ground and saw Efferus training the soldiers and players. Efferus could see Mylo waving at him while approaching him.

"Mylo! Did you find anything?"

"Yes…I think it is better if we head inside the Inn, you might want to sit down while listening to what I have to say and maybe take a drink or two."

"I see…GATHER UP!"

"YES SIR!"

"WILL END TODAY'S TRAINING EARLY. YOU MAY TAKE IT EASY FOR THE REST OF THE DAY!"

"YES SIR!"

"Now let's be on our way."

"Yes."

Both Mylo and Efferus silently walked inside the building and sat down at their usual sits, in a dimly lit and silent corner.

"Looking at your actions I can already guess what happened to my son. What killed him?"

"…The spirit guardian of the Valsea forest."

"What! N-no that can't be. The guardian is a spirit of unparalleled pureness, it does not kill it protect every living being. It pushes darkness and brings light into Valsea."

"Common Efferus, if that truly was the case. You wouldn't have been hunting the crimson wolf to begin with."

"… Give me every little detail you discovered."

Mylo explained everything to Efferus, from the moment he stepped inside the fog, till the end when he died to the guardian. However he didn't inform him of the item that he managed to steal or the warning he received from Barthelemy's spirit. The item was too precious to get taken away from him for evidence or whatever other reasons. He also did not wish to venture into any uncertainty by admitting he was talking to a spirit.

"From what I gathered, it seems like the guardian has been influenced by darkness. The guardian is indeed an elk but in the story passed down from generation to generation of our kingdom, it was said that the guardian was covered by flowers and greenery while being surrounded by the beauty of nature and the animal living in it. Seeing as how only thorns and spike was left, while everything around him has withered from its original beauty…I must speak to the king and inform him of the current issue!"

"Wait! What about Aureus? I need to speak with his father."

"Do not worry, the current issue at hand take's priority. For the time being Aureus can stay with me, I'll make sure to take care of him until this issue is resolved."
