Gem's Pov

The smell of antiseptic, the beeping sound of monitors and other medical equipments.

I get this massive adrenaline rush feeling, it makes me more excited instead being terrified how extreme that place is.

Finally, I'll be able to graduate being a senior student and start my dream to become a Doctor.

3 years ago...

"Gem what are you waiting for its time!" Annie yelled at me.

We are currently wearing our graduation gown and heading to the front school to take our grad-pics.

I nodded and followed them taking normal faces and wacky.

As always neither of my sides arrived in this kind of event its a waste of time for them.

Besides they never care at all even my dad, he already has another family. My mom left us with another man and my dad was okay with it after-all his been hiding his mistress.

I envy this people around me they are happily taking pictures with smile on their faces. Yet, her I am standing alone and watching them I don't even know how to cry even if its painful.

I turned my back and heard Annie running towards me.

"Where are you going? Let's go to my place mom would be happy if you'll come." She said.

"I- its fine I have some errands to run to and I have a sideline today but thank you Annie." I lied.

She knows yet I didn't hear any words coming from her mouth. I really hate it seeing that eyes from everyone it was "pity".

I immediately turned and waved my right hand at her while walking away.

When did it stop?

Those emotions I can't feel anything at all. It doesn't seem normal being numb in everything.

I noticed others were looking at me like seriously who is stupid enough to walk wearing graduation gown.

I stopped at the temple and pay my respects. When I got out a kid suddenly approached me and hand out a blue hydragea.

The kid hugs me and walk towards his parents another kid suddenly approached me.

He gave a purple hydragea and hugs me too, another kid walked towards me and gave a pink hydragea.

"Who gave this?" I immediately asked the kid before it walk away too.

He point out a man wearing a hood and turning his back at us. He turned his head a bit but I barely see it because of his long bangs.

I walk towards him but he was furious and drove his car away.

"W-wait." It was too late to catch up he was indeed fast.

I stared with the flowers it somehow made my heart melts. Whoever that guy is I'm thankful with what he did.

I got home and found my baggages outside of the house.

"Now that you are old enough you can leave this house and live on your own." My stepmother exclaimed and slap the things in my face.

My dad has no reaction at all after all I'm that whores daughter. I mean nothing to him yet disgust and regret for having me.

I smiled bitterly and picked up my stuff. It was already dark yet here I am looking for a place to stay.

I wanted to cry but no sign of tears were flowing in my face.

The area was already starting to be cold I just walk straight without knowingly where to go.

I arrived at the farther side were there are less houses and near the forest.

"Is there anything worst than this?!" I shouted.

I heard the rumbling sound of the sky and the rain started to fall.

"You must be kidding me?! It was just a joke!" I shouted back.

I am completely drenched by the rain as I arrived at the horse stable. I sat near the wall and buried my face in my knees.

A dogs bark was heard made me raise my head an old man appeared holding an umbrella.

"What are you doing in here? This is a private property." He asked.

I stood up and bowed.

"I'm sorry I temporarily stayed due to the heavy rain I-" my sight becomes darker and the last thing I heard was another footsteps in the side.

I woke up on a small wooden room and saw an old man earlier.

"Young master brought you here when you collapsed yesterday. Good thing that he is a medical student so he managed to treat your fever." He said.

"I-I'm sorry for the trouble." I said while still lowering my head.

He grabbed his cup and walked towards me.

"Where are your parents?" He asked.

I become silent how would I explain to him that they are very horrible one's.

He stared at me and added. "Tell me honestly don't hide it."

I lowered my head and grab both my knees and hugged it.

"I no longer have a mother and my dad and his mistress chased me out." I said and bite my lower lip.

"Do you have any place to go?" He asked.

I shake my head as an answer and buried my face again.

"You can stay here I no longer had my wife because she passed away and we also don't have any children." He said.

"I-it would be trouble some for you sir." I said and felt a bit shame.

"No need to worry child you can call me grandpa Fred from now on." He smiled.

Present Day...

I worked so hard and tried every part time jobs to earn money and help Grandpa Fred.

I also told him to quit his job and just continue with the small farm he owned. We used some of our savings to start up with the farm and trade the crops at the market.

Grandpa Fred treated me as a real granddaughter and spoils me in anything.

"Grandpa!!!!!!" I shouted as I was near at the farm.

Grandpa raised his head and waved at me.

"You are working again I told you to take a rest I'll handle it and I have covered money from my side jobs too." I nagged him.

"Oh dear my precious granddaughter is nagging again, I just wanted to do something." He said.

"You are so stubborn as always but I have news! I was accepted at the West Rime Medical University!" I exclaimed.

"Really?! Thats a great news we must celebrate." He said and walked outside.

"What are w- grandpa!" He suddenly collapse at the door.

"What's wrong??" I said worriedly he pointed the jar that he prohibited.

I opened it and saw a bunch of medicines. I grabbed one and a glass of water and gave it to him.

He manage to felt well and stood up, he notice I was still at the floor.

My hands were trembling and grabbing my skirt.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I said.

"I don't want you to think about me or be worried you need to focus gem." He said.

"You are the only person who treated me as a family grandpa what would I do if you are gone?" I exclaimed.

"I know thats why I didn't tell you-" I cut him off.

"We need to go to the hospital I'll handle everything." I said and packed his stuffs.

"Titania!" He shouted.

I really don't want to cry and funny thing is I can't cry. I'm in pain right now and don't know what to do.

"You need to get well." I almost whisphered.

"Listen to me gem everything will be fine don't worry about me." He said.

"No grandpa you need to be cured I saved up enough I can just-" he immediately cut me off.

"I'll be fine I'm old already and your grandma is waiting for me." He smiled and walked out of the room.

As what I can see I can no longer change his mind.

Thinking about it makes my heart aches I decided to act normal in front of him.

"Grandpa I'll be going now I already asked Mr. Norman to check on you." I said and hugged him.

"Silly child I'll be fine." He said.

I know your not so bear with me grandpa. I waved at him and walked into the bus area.

I put my headsets on and tried to relax, I do have a lot of savings but its only for my 4years tuition and extra for incase.

For the past 3 years until now I worked after class at the cafe and at nighttime at the convenience store.

At the weekends Grandpa and I will trade our crops at the supermarket. I'm also planning to hire some workers too so that he won't trouble himself again.

The bus suddenly stopped and a guy wearing a hood came in.

I immediately grab his sleeves and he automatically faced towards me.

"Have we met before?" I asked directly.

He look at me coldly and stared at my hand holding his sleeves.

"I heard that excuse I know I'm good looking but I'm not interested." He looks at me head to toe.

My jaw almost dropped on what I heard as he continued at the back and wore his headphones. He closed his eyes and leaving me damn speechless.

"What the hell just happen?!" I rolled my eyes and just continued listening to my music.

How arrogant so what if he's good looking I mean yeah he is indeed sexy. Hazel eyes, pointed nose, thin and small lips. He has a great sex appeal and tall at the same time.

What the heck am I thinking with that arrogant jerk!

I erased all of my thoughts and hated him to the core yeah! Farther from other galaxies that exist!

The bus stopped at the front of my school and noticed the guy also stood up.
