Aomori

"BURN THE SHRINES"

"KILL ALL OF THE LOYAL ONES"

The citizens of Aomori were rebelling against their own god. Why? The God of Music treated them with specialty and care...

The more the rebelled the more the god's heart was torn. As he saw the flames lighting up the dark night. His relics and artifacts destroyed, his books burnt with the wooden planks. Children were crying, families separated... his heart ached more.

The flames were crackling and growing as their god, in human disguise, watched his people throw him off a cliff. "What did I do?" he thought. He walked around the streets as he stepped on spilt wine and alcohol. He stopped as a child held on his robe, crying.

"Are you lost, child?" He asked the boy as he pulled him into his arms.

"Do not worry." He said as his soothing voice calmed the boy. He went off to search for the mother of the child, the child was awfully quiet in his arms. As he went deeper into the town he found a child's body under all the wood and ash. It was the boy's dead body. He stepped back in shock as he looked at the boy in his arms, sleeping soundly. He could not do anything as their god to save him. he shed tears as he looked up to see more children sleeping around him, it was an orphanage... that collapsed building in front of him was an orphanage. As the children sleep, he stood up and roamed once again.

He walked to see the phantoms of his followers all together staring at him. Their dead and empty eyes, looking into his. The bloody floor, the burning wood, the phantoms of his people all came to him like a knife to his heart. All the memories of the joy and laughter, the old women who used to be children he played with in the forest. The babies that was supposed to live much, much longer. All of this because of a rebellion... because of him.

The main shrine hasn't been destroyed yet, and so he walked up the stairs.

The stairs became cold each step he took, as his body became more of a god. His people were waiting in the lobby and as he saw them, his heart broke more. He breathed heavily as they pointed swords at him. The swords were polished and reflective, but none of them had his reflection.

"Why must you do this to me?" he asked them, but they dare not to reply.

"What have I done to any of you?!" he shouted, and took a deep breath

"If this is my fate, let me at least play one last song before I go." the people looked at each other as they nodded. The god brought out a stringed instrument and placed it in the middle of the room in the moonlight and played a song. As the song continues, the fires died down and the flor froze little by little. He strung the instrument, and started playing more aggressively. His people screamed in pain and agony as their body froze slowly. A snowstorm had been generating around the whole country as he went on. The ice froze the dead bodies and the storm started to bury the whole town under deep snow.

An hour later, the song has ended. He looked up to the moon as his body cracked slowly.

Aomori was now in Eternal Frost, as punishment for rebellion.

"What have I done?" he whispered to himself.

"No... They saw this coming. I shouldn't-" He broke into tears as he looked around to see his people has frozen statues. He saw them as his children, he took care of them dearly, how can he not cry?

"I killed them... I'm no different anymore..."

"Kaori...? Kaori." he called his most loyal follower, as he was the one he left out. This boy felt like a son to him, like family. The follower kneeled in front of his god and the god caressed his follower's black hair. "I need your body to be my avatar..." he said with a shaky voice. The boy was not allowed to deny anything the god says, even if he would die... he does not have a choice anyway. The boy was mute, all he could do is bow down to show his respect to his god. He put his shaking hand on the boy's head and transferred half his consciousness onto him. The boy's hair slowly becoming white as his vision blurred and body shook, his body is too weak. The god did not want to loose another soul, so he tried to think of a way to save to boy.

The god took him into his arms and carried him to a room, he placed him on a table and spent his last breaths trying to help the boy. His shaking body tripping on little stones, he spent days trying to make a puppet with the boy's body. When he finished, he transferred yet again the same amount of consciousness to the body.

"My one and only... beautiful creation." he said as his body gained more cracks. The more the body awakened, the more the god turned into ice.

"Wake up, Kaori." he whispered

"Please..." He started crying yet again.

"I am a failure of a god... My people rebelled against me, and are trying to kill me. I should've done something beforehand... but what did I do? I watched them burn everything, kill everything." He cried even more as he continued. "Am I just role playing as a god? I don't- I don't know what I am."

[gasp]

The body's eyes shot open and woke up to the god, who was now a frozen statue, looking down at him. On his arm, his name was engraved and on the other arm was written "Regret".

"Where am I?"

Kaori looked down to see a puddle of water,

"Who am I?
