Reincarnated: Bound as a summoner's pet

{Authors Note: 1 chapter per day, everyday} Once the son of the world's strongest king. Leonardo had all his whims granted at the drop of a hat. Having died at the hands of his younger brother while he slept, he was unaware of his death so it was quite the shock when he found that not only was he no longer the eldest son of the most powerful man to exist, he was now a cute little fox bound to some random commoner girl in a world he doesn't recognize.

Lessons and ruins

"No no no, breath in through your nose then your mouth. Clear your mind and focus" moogs annoying voice echoed in my mind "Good now focus on the mana flowing through your veins. Slowly grab ahold of the flow in its entirety. No not in pieces, you can't rush this. Try again and don't start until you grasp the whole mana vein."

I growled in frustration but quickly calmed down. For the past two weeks moog has been forcing his training routine on me, every night I'm dragged into what he calls proper cultivation. Evidently a cultivator doesn't require sleep if he meditates properly but energy one on the mortal plane seems ignorant of that fact.

"Good you now have the whole mana veins, with it in hand slowly bring it inside your self. Bring it past the bones, the muscles and the veins. Pull it until it reaches your core, SLOWLY." he suddenly yelled and I lost my focus. Like a rubber band it snapped back into its old route through my body and I coughed out a glob of blood.

" What did I say about rushing the process, you mortals are always in such a hurry. If it wasn't for your constant insistence on continuing your travels I would have had us in some far off cave in the middle of nowhere focusing on the basics. But no I've had to drill sever decades of basic knowledge in little less than half a month." moog heaved heavily. "the act of removing your mana flow from your bodies natural method is supposed to be a difficult technique mastered later. After you gain insight to the basics. But I had to rush so don't blame me for your short comings"

I ignored him. He goes on about this day in and day out and I've grown used to it. I began to return to my meditation and started pulling the mana in my body back to my center.

"Good now follow the four tier gyro-synchronization cultivation method" I opened my eyes to stare at him. Several seconds passed before he realized this and several more passed before he understood the problem. I was unable to speak while manipulating my internal mana structure so the best I could do was glare.

"Right right, you haven't been taught that. I keep forgetting you mortals are so far behind in methods. What do humans do again a spiral system right? How dreadfully simplic. Does it work? Yes but barely, the method I'm going to have you recreate is designed with the idea of efficiency and grace." he paused. "We will start you out at the very beginning of the process until your mana supply is large enough to integrate the second tier to the gyro system."

"start by sending your mana in a tight circle around your core and have the mana both spin horizontally around the core in a ring formation and have the ring rotate around the core so that the ring passes the same spot once every second and speed it up until you can just barely maintain the double rotation. That will allow for the most optimal performance and set you up for a stable foundation later."

"By spinning the mana close to your core you can collect and use the residual mana surrounding the outside of your core like a grinding stone to remove the impurities from the mana before it enters your core. This method will also allow for a faster recovery of mana when depleted and it later stages this first ring will act as a buffer in spell casting. By drawing from the mana circling your core you can produce effects at a noticeablly faster rate but should only be used in emergencies as doing so can disrupt the mana gyroscope."

I listened intently as I created the circle of mana around my core and tried to follow along with his instructions. The way he worded it was confusing but I eventually had it up to his satisfaction.

"good now you just have to hold that for roughly three days and it should solidify as your new mana channel. All mana absorbed from your skin will be automatically directed to your mana core cultivation method. But in order to make sure that it is at its most efficient we will work on creating artificial mana channels through your body leading to the cultivation method. The bodies naturally forming channels are full of impurities and is generally ineffective compared to the optimal solution of creating a mana highway. This method will only work for mana beast as humans can only take mana from the air through their lungs. Their advantage however is their intelligence. Most mana beast are dumber than a bag of rocks and many don't even know what a cultivation technique is let alone why they are stronger than their brethren."

I fumed in anger at the sudden news. Three days I have to remain here for three days as I maintain this method. I recalled what happened when I let go in my previous and shuttered. It hurt and caused interal damage. If I let this go now especially at it's current speed and complexity. I might as well kiss my life good bye, I'd probably explode. I hope Kana was alright. I had to make up for this time lost, I lost our connection a long time ago and I fears he is in great danger. Before the connection was faint but now it's practically gone, I could feel that she is still alive but nothing more. I can't feel the general direction of Kana and have no choice but to continue on my way towards Tormok where I last felt her presence.

Three days later I finally managed to hold the formation stable and returned to my travel. Moog insisted on continuing the process but I refused. I found out that I could cut off the connection to the real world and my personal storage space. So when moog was inside he needed my permission in order to leave, he threatened a couple of time to just blow up the space in order to leave but he feared that the resulting explosion would kill me and thus be his down fall so as much as he hated it I kept him in the collar. He wasted my time and now I'm wasting his.

Eventually the trees started thinning out and endless forest slowly turned into open plains. I the distance I saw a great structure made of stone. The remnants of the great city. Even from this far away I could see the damages to its outer walls. Great sections were ruined and turned into piles of rubble. But what really bothered me was the overwhelmingly large amount of mana east in and out of the cityscape. Thousands if not million filled the fields that were once farm lands, some as large as an elephant and many as small as a rat all gathered together to this ruined city. My heart sank at the sight, if Kana was in there I may never find her location. I trudged forward, I had to atleast try.
