Please, it helps keep me motivated.
A man was lying in his bed, as his wife was at work. He had called in sick, and his reason was he had the flu. He worked at a hospital, so the other doctors there didn't want him to get even more sick, due to the conditions of some of the patients.
He tried to get himself a glass of water, but the glass slipped from his hand, causing it to shatter across the floor. Luckily, none of the pieces of glass hit him, but he had to stand away, for it had become a slippery way to death.
He had tried to get himself a bowl of soup, but the power in his house went off, for there were birds biting at the power cable going into his house.
This man was named James Doyle, and he was often referred as 'The most unlucky man of them all'. Nothing ever seemed to go right for him. There were only three things that hadn't gone wrong for him. Anything that involved being a doctor, gaming, and tending to a little worm farm he had. Those were the three things that had never gone wrong.
He was an avid gamer, when he wasn't at work, or tending to his worms. He went by the name of 'JDShadow'. He wasn't famous, but he enjoyed it.
His worm farm was a place where he spent his time to clear his head. He found it relaxing, as there was nothing noisy nearby, for he lived in the countryside. It was peaceful, except for the occasional car.
While James was lying in his bed, he remembered the worms, and he got out of bed to check on them, weak in the legs. He walked out of his room, and stepped his foot into something sharp, yet slippery.
His legs went out from under him, as he fell to the ground, as a large piece of glass met his skull on the way down. He could only think of one thing before he died.
'Who will take care of my worms?'
He was dead instantly after that thought. The piece of glass punctured through his skull, and ripped apart his brain. He never had a strong skull, or maybe it was just his luck.
His wife came home, 6 hours later, only to see her husband, James, lying on the ground, unmoving. She screamed, and rushed up to him. She lifted up his head, and saw the shard of glass mounted in his skull, and dropped him. She then wept onto his chest, cursing the universe for giving him such bad luck.
An investigation went underway, to see if it was a murder, but they found nothing that suggested another person had been there. They chalked it up to an accident.
Two weeks later, James's wife, and their families and friends, attended his funeral. The priest there made one comment, that everybody knew was fact. "He was definitely the most unlucky man of them all."
James's ghost floated over all of this, agreeing, even though he could not be seen by his family and friends. He felt lighter than air, like that was somehow possible. He looked at his arms, and saw that they were starting to be pulled away from him, like mist from a hose. He relaxed himself, and let himself be taken away from this plane of existance, knowing that he couldn't do anything about this.
He floated upwards, like a gas, as he left Earth, continuously getting faster and faster. Son, he was beyond the Solar System, beyond the Milky Way, and then beyond what seemed to be the boundaries of the universe, but then...
He stopped, without knowing why. He looked up, and all he could see was a blinding light. As it dimmed, he could see a figure basking in the light, looking at him. It spoke to him, as if it were a god.
"I am sorry about what you have just experienced, James Doyle. To die in such a way is simply dreadful. You had so much going for you, but that unluckiness of yours finally brought an end to you, which isn't a good thing."
James felt like kneeling down before this being, for its voice was heavenly, like nothing he had heard before. The voice continued to speak.
"I have decided that you should get a second chance at life, but I cannot send you back to the old world. Therefore, I will send you to a different world, not one of this universe. It is called 'Taranai', and you shall inhabit there. That is where my original body is also located. It is a world of magic, monsters, and war. You shall I habit that land as not a human, but as a thing you know a lot about. You shall have two titles, each one having a permanent effect. 'JDShadow', and 'The Luckiest Dead Man'. You shall also start out with a single skill, and a single set of magic. I have decided to not give you a basic piece of magic, for all that you have suffered for in your life. You shall gain the only ability of its type. Time. You will have control over time itself. The skill will be one that can be upgraded. Time Stop. Yes, you will be able to stop time. Once you see your species, you will also receive one special skill for that species. To access these abilities, just think about the words, either 'System', or 'Menu'. You will also have what is known as a 'Mana Crystal'. This is what will allow you to use lower tiered magic later on. Medium and Higher tiered magic do not need a crystal. Now, it's time to go. I shall meet you again, sooner than you might think."
James then started to fly away, targeting a planet that looked like earth, but about 100x bigger. He slammed into the earth, but instead of breaking the ground, he simply passed through it. He reached the underground, and he could slightly feel his arms and legs molding together like he was becoming more streamlined. He could feel himself growing shorter, as he became more of a cylinder, rather than a human. He felt his skin stretching, and becoming smoother, but thinner. He felt like he was jelly, yet still movable. He tried to stand up, for it felt like he was lying down.
Then he realised it. He had no legs. Or arms. He was still able to lift himself but that was by moving his spine, which he though would be hard, until he realised that he had no spine. He only had flesh, and it felt like soft flesh.
He then thought about the words the person said, and he, in his head, yelled the words 'System!'. A black menu, with white text appeared infront of him.

Endless Inventory + Stomach
James was interested. A system, like the games he used to play. He tapped in on the 'Time Stop Lv. 1' skill, and it brought up a description.
[Time Stop Lv. 1]
[A skill given to you by the creator of time magic. You are able to stop time for a single second. Nobody else can do this. Time will move slower for you in this stopped time, so for you, a single second will feel like three minutes. You can turn it off during the time, if you wish.]
James looked at this, and just stood there, slackjawed. It was basically a three minute time stop, and it was only level one. What else could it do? Surely if is his time stop was that good, the rest must be useless. He tapped on the titles, and selected 'JDShadow'.
[JDShadow]
[You are able to move in between shadows, and create clones of yourself from the shadows. They will follow your every command.]
James looked over at a nearby wall, and saw a shadow. He thought about creating a line of himself out of the shadows, and a black worm slithered out, and waited infront of James, like a dog. He told it to slither around in a circle, and it did it at a reasonable speed. He told it to disappear, and it did. He realised that he could create an army with this ability, but decided not to.
He tapped on his other title, 'The Luckiest Dead Man', and was quite shocked at what it read.
[The Luckiest Dead Man]
[You gain an extra life, which replenishes after 30 minutes, if used. You can also summon a ghostly skeleton, which will replace you for three attacks.]
This was such a drastic change, compared to his previous life, so he was thankful. He could now experience luck. He was also curious as to what his species skill was, so he tapped on it.
[Endless Inventory + Stomach]
[You are able to hold ∞ numbers of items in your system, like an inventory. You also have another stomach which is able to hold ∞ amounts of food, so you could eat forever. Any food that comes from a monster, human, or being with levels, is transformed into Bio Points, or BP, depending on how high of a level, or evolution, they are.]
James thought about this. An ∞ stomach, to hold an ∞ amount of food, and an inventory. This could be quite useful. He guessed that most things could only hold a certain amount of items, yet he could carry ∞. The possibilities of what he could carry were endless.
Even though he had no eyes, he was still able to see, like magic... oh yeah. He had access to magic, yet why weren't his Mana Points going down? It was like a skill. Magic had formed itself into what was known as sight magic, which allowed him to see.
He swivelled his head, or well, body, around, and saw a large box at the other side of the room. He slithered towards it, and used his head to open it. It seemed to be a chest. He looked down into it, to see a sword.
[Iron Katana]
[+50 strength]
It was a sword. He had no arms, so he couldn't use it. He decided to put it into his inventory. He thought about putting the sword into his inventory, and the sword disappeared, while the inventory was brought up. The sword then appeared in the inventory, ready to be taken out whenever he wanted. To keep or to give away was his own business.
He heard a creaking noise, as a door opened up behind him, one he hadn't noticed. A singular person, clad in a set of iron armour stepped out, and yelled. He had seen James, and James couldn't do anything, except really wait. Then, a message appeared in James vision.
[Human Language Learned]
[Understanding: Perfect]
[Fluency: Almost Perfect]
James could suddenly hear what the human was yelling, and it wasn't all that pleasant.
"A foul beast! I must slay it, so it cannot slay anybody!"
James winced at the thought of being slayed, even though he had all his abilities. He then realised that he could speak the language of Humans, so he did.
"Wait! Wait. I see you, human. Do not kill me. I have been created not five or ten minutes ago. I wouldn't have had time to kill anybody. Although, I do not wish to harm you, I will restrain you if you do not at least listen to my words."
The human then fell backwards, fear in his eyes. 'A monster... talking?! This is unheard of! What do I do? What do I do?!'. The human then spoke back.
"How do you know our language, beast?". James simply answered with, "By simply hearing you speak. I now know how to speak and understand your words. Now, I just want to know, where am I right now?"
"You are in the first floor of the dungeon. There are an unknown amount, but many people speculate at least over one hundred."
James then headbutted the ground, thinking that his bad luck was back. "Well, that means that I'm the weakest of the weak, huh?"
The human then agreed. "The monsters on the first floor are normally weaker than the ones on the floor below, but none of them below level 50 can speak. Once a monster goes down a floor, after becoming strong enough, they usually don't come back up. Humans have only ever reached floor 51, before they were murdered by some unknown being. One person survived, and said that it was a god, saying the words, 'I am waiting for a special worm to arrive in the future. Do not interrupt me!', before almost the entire group was murdered."
James then realised something. The god who brought him here said that their original body was on this planet. That 'god' the man described could have easily been him. The human interrupted his train of thought.
"Um, worm? May I take you up to the surface? I am trying to register in the tamer guild, and I need a monster from the dungeon as my first pet. As long as you don't speak, they will think of you as nothing more than a regular dungeon worm. You won't actually be my pet, it will just be a temporary thing, OK? Also, my name is Caine Lockheart, and you are?"
James then responded with an answer that he had been saving.
"My name is James Doyle, but you can call me JD. I do wish to see the surface, so I shall join you, even if it is only temporary."
"Well then JD, we are now going to go to the kingdom of Lairodon, where I shall pass you off as my pet, OK?"
James then thought that this would be a perfect opportunity for him to try out his Time Stop, so he thought about a way to stop time. He then remembered an animated show about ghostly powers, where a mna who wore some yellow clothing yelled some words like 'Za Warudo', or something like that. He yelled those words, and a mysterious time stop sound played, as everything ground to a halt. He slithered up along Caine's shoulders, like a scarf, before manually resuming time, as this took him only about 30 seconds, so he had plenty of time.
To Caine, he was suddenly gone, and was upon his shoulders, yet he weighed nothing. Caine simply jumped with surprise, as he didn't expect this. Another surprise to add to the collection.
"Alright then, JD, let's go to the kingdom of Lairodon. Just don't speak, and we will be fine."
And they were off, as Caine opened the door, the one he entered through, and ascended a set of stairs. There was yet another door at the top, which Caine also opened, and it was at that moment, that James realised something.
This world was going to be fun to mess around in.
